This was surprisingly so boring despite its big name ensemble cast and the expectation of shiny fast cars and late 80s nostalgia. Also, far too long too. They easily could've chopped off an hour from the runtime and it would be the same movie.
I feel like there was a bit of tonal whiplash throughout these first chunk of episodes. Still good, but it feels like the pieces didn't fit together as well as they should have. I dunno.
Aside from little Min Ah and all her interactions with every character, I think one of my favorite parts of the series is how much the janitress was a part of the story. I really loved how they used her character to really highlight the kindness of In Seong's character. But also to put a spotlight on people like her who are so unfairly treated by others. It speaks to the overall message of the series.
They wrapped up all the stories pretty well. And the ratings weren't that great. But a season 2 would have to be Sun Ja and Min Jae leading the new Theia class in 2022/23
Aside from his obvious mental issues, I think he liked Yoo Min (the former captain) and was jealous when she began dating their fellow squad member. He felt that relationship ruined the squad before. And now he felt like it was happening again with Hae Yi and Jung Woo. So he was taking out his previous grievance on her in the present.
Yes if you like an easy to watch show about youth and friendships. The friendships are really the main focus of the series and "Cheer Up" definitely explains the overall vibe. Just college students making friends and lifting each other up.
