Also, his entire going nuts and wanting to marry her again started because of jealousy towards Duke Su (when he saw the duke coming to the prison and then has flashbacks to the palace banquet etc), not because he really misses XFF. Ridiculous.
I agre, it feels very much like a bad ending and a “wishful thinking” of both JL and XH. The extra episode barely made it better but the entire final war was so rushed and nonsensical. Unless they had another 4/5 episodes extra to just focus on the war. Like who was the enemy general and why thy focused so much on his face? It feels as if they had planned for a longer story and just cut it…
After finishing The Double I can’t wait for Legend of the Female general to air! Author is the same and the characters and story were a huge part of The Double being so awesome ❤️
Did you notice that the duke always brings his own white cup to drink tea?
And so far he offered it twice to JL to drink! Both times it felt like a show of power, the first time it felt that JL tricked him and the second time he forced her to accept it. Wondering if there’s a deeper symbolism…
