In which episode does Sang Yan learn about his sister dating his friend?

I get that. People don't react the same way to traumas of this kind.

But..., her passivity doesn't fit her job. Being a reporter? It's like navigating in a shark's sea. She is too quiet, reserved for that kind of job.

Also, as I said, one trauma? It happens, unfortunately. But with her, it's trauma after trauma after trauma. She is kind of a Cinderella, with the evil step-sister. Evil step-father (I assume he was the one to assault her in high school?) bad mother who takes her new husband's side.

Then she is assaulted by her boss, then by her boss's wife in front of everybody, her reputation being destroyed.

Then she is assaulted at her new apartment by a man. Then she is assaulted once again at her apartment by 3 men. Then she is sexually harassed at work AGAIN and her reputation ruined again because of gossips.

Honestly, the first trauma is horrible enough. I mean, she lost her father. Her mother is a piece of s**** who married a guy who assaulted her own daughter and she throws her out. Her step-sister is also a piece of s***. Honestly, I would have taken martial arts lessons, every day of the week after that.

That would be enough to explain a trauma. But here, it's multiple traumas. I know that it's a healing drama and that it explores some dark themes, but it's like checking boxes, it wants to do tackle too many issues:

- rape by a relative,
- bad parenting,
- loss of a parent at an early age,
- attempted rape,
- beating,
- sexual harassement TWICE at work, at two different jobs,
- sexual assaulsts at home TWICE by first a neighbor, then by 3 neigbhors,
- gossips at school and at work destroying lives
- so far no shrink despite all of this happening, at least in the 4 episodes so another issue to tackle in this drama, the lack of consideration for PTSD and other mental health issues

That's a LOT for just one drama. Maybe it follows the novel but that doesn't mean the novel didn't fall into the exact same trap I developped above. In that case, the fault lies withe novel.

Now you are telling me that Prince Charming comes from a wealthy family, who is a successful businessman, a succesful... money management or whatever he does outside of his bar/restaurant, and being a rich genius at such a young age allows him to stay at home playing games?

The way this story has been hyped for years, I expected... something else. The ML being a struggling new business owner, the FL suffering from one trauma in her life, not 10. Her tougher thanks to her job.

The drama is just starting so I'm not giving up on it. Modern romance dramas seem to be rare lately, it's all about costume dramas, palace intrigue dramas, Xuxia, Wanxia or whatever those dramas are called. But still...

Hmmm, a bit hard to give an opinion. The story is okay. The pacing is nice, not too fast, not too slow. The actors are... so far, I'm more intrigued by the potential second couple. Potential for fun stories to tell and an explosive relationship. The main couple, wait and see so far for me.

I have a question about the FL. She is cute. But she is described as the Alpha and Omega of... everything. Back in school, pretty face. Girls were gossiping about her so suspected jealousy. Guys had crushes on her.

Then something happened (sexual assault? And she left school). At her previous work, her boss was sexually harassing her. At her actual job, her boss/colleague tried to sexually harass her. Bis repetita, her other colleagues (not all of them, mind you) gossiped about her and how she was like based on rumors.

She was sexually assaulted at her apartment not once, but twice.

I mean, I'm all for exploring issues that aren't that explored in dramas. But here, it's a bit too much, for me.

And even if I understand that she is still traumatized by what happened to her multiple time, I don't like the fact that as a journalist, she doesn't want to rectify the situation and tell the truth to her colleagues.

Also, still as a journalist, she feels off. Tired. I expected more passion, more fire for a job. She is no Lois Lane.

I still have the same issue (so far, it could change in future episodes), with the ML spending too much time at home on his phone playing game. Doesn't he have a new business to take care of, to make it successful?

It's still early so those issues could be solved in future episodes. At least, I hope they will be.

But yeah, so far, I'm not that into the main couple. Plus the new guy seems to be into the FL? I'm not a fan of love triangle or one sided love story.

That was a great drama, quite original and with great acting. The stories were sad, violent, depressing, it really had everything.

There was an astronomical event in the beginning, which I think allowed her to time travel to his era. Maybe he will also time travel to her time line to save her as a child?

But how it will end... I don't know. With time travels, the censorhip tends to damage the endings of time travel dramas.

Ha, you remember that? Yeah, I loved that drama. And as I said more than once, it's the drama that made me doubt the ratings on MDL. That I should trust my instinct and the reviews rather than the ratings.

I'm with you here! Amazing, unique drama and I have to say that Angelababy does a good job here. I wasn't convinced with her acting in "EL", but here, she is rather good. Maybe she needs the right role to shine?

I think her country and his should fuse or marry! I mean, his has an elected king, so it looks like a proto-democracy and he is in favor of women leading and being offered the possibility to be whatever they want to be and are good at.

Hers has talent for trade and therefore is wealthy but women, even the talented ones, are forbidden in business (the FL has to disguise as a man for her family business). Both countries becoming one would be a powerful nation.

As I said, a man of his time. Do you expect Ghandi? He didn't kill her even when he thought she was a man. And the nations of this dramas are at war. And he is a war leader, not a scientist or a doctor in the drama. Oh my, a war chief who kills, that's so shocking.

Worse things could have happened to her. At least she is alive, and he saved her more than once. He is even keeping her secret while she is on his turf because he knows what would happen to her if he revealed she was a woman.

21rst century morality doesn't apply in past times, whether in real life or in dramas.

I just watched the first episode but so far so good. Both leads are intelligent and can think fast under stress, especially the FL. She is clever, and seems to be working with her father creating weapons. I wonder if her talents go beyond weapons and if she is also an inventor. Who knows?

The ML is calm, and a man of his time, I would say. Violent when needed (to fight) but not cruel. Clever, too and intuitive. The actor has great screen presence. Many say that he is a bad actor but so far, I don't see that. I had seen him in a sci-fi drama and he was scary as hell in that one so I would say there are roles where he excels and maybe others where he doesn't?

Wait and see but as I said, I'm pleasantly surprised.

Oh, ouah, I didn't know depression could cause all those symptoms. Poor girl, it looks like her body was screaming at her that something was wrong but somehow, she thought that it might just be medical issues?

Well, she had medical issues, too. But it looks like a combination of medical issues, tragic family news, depression and abuse from her company.

She was so frail, so thin, so weak that her body finally collapsed. It couldn't take it anymore. Maybe it was like a brutal nervous breakdown that caused aphasia and paralysis?

To be so young, so pretty, so talented and to be so abused by people in this industry that she developped mental illness and physical symptoms is just horrible. I fear she is not the only one abused in this way. I hope Lusi's story will wake up the industry that they have to treat their artists well.

Oh damn, that's serious. One of my colleague's mother had aphasia after a stroke and her mother was only 47 years old. She recovered since she wasn't alone at home when it happened and she was treated quickly but it still took a few months for her to recover.

I hope for Lusi that's not the case for her and it's just exhaustion.

According to her friend, she wasn't even able to speak. SPEAK! That she has lost too much weight, it's obvious but it has nothing to do with the actress you worship. All artists in China are starving to please a mad audience.

It's because of crazy fans that actors, actresses, singers look like they could break, and also their managing companies pushing them to starve themselves to present well to the fans and sponsors and medias.

But not being able to speak (on top of not being able to walk) seems to indicate a serious illness that is not linked to her not eating enough but something neurological.

Be a decent human being and send your best wishes to another human being who is sick. If you are not capable of even that, you should leave this page, instead of showing what a despicable human being you are.

And look at that page, I'm never here because while I know this actress and I have watched some of her dramas, I'm not a crazy fans following her. I'm just someone who loves to watch Cdramas, depending on the summaries of them, not on the actors so don't even try to accuse me of being a "crazy fan".

I'm a normal person who feels sorry for anyone in her situation.

I haven't finished yet, no time for now, but what about the ML's sister? The baby who was switched at birth, did she die or was she adopted by another family?

It looks like it's another actor with the same name which is 5ft 10in (I googled it and the pic was not the same guy). On another site, with the right picture in front of the name, it says "189cm".

Thanks, that explain a lot. I'm glad there is an explanation. Sometimes, it's just jealousy of a successful son and I don't like that explanation. At least here, it makes sense.

In my realistic world, fans of idols actors are the same. I don't know why you target this actress's fandom in particular when it's spread all over the fandoms .

Are you kidding? Have you seen the horrors posted on the Lovely Runner MDL page??? hell, many haters went to WRITE AND POST bad reviews. They didn't just downvote the drama, they wrote reviews about it to show how much they hated it.

And the comments, yeah, right. It happens everywhere. In every fandom. As long as a drama is successful and the actors are idols actors, there's drama.
