"... presenting 4 ML who falls in Lvoe"That’s the factory setting for straight dramas. Couple A, Couple B, mild…
"Cause the most people are not gay, just about 10 to 20 percent"
First off, the aduience is BL fans, queer people and allies. The rest ain't wathcing it. Ur entire logic here falls apart.
Again im repeating to u thst the producers created a straight main lead couple (yes thier leads look at mdl cast page and imdb) to greenligh the series.
This was already talked about in reddit months ago before the series nor the trailer aired.
Many KBLs have had straight couples but no one gives a damn cuz they weren't main leads. Addint to the fact that there was NO straight romance in the drama. And what makes u think BL fans wanna watch a girl snd boy fliritng, running holding hands et? In a BL of all?
People literally gave it a review of 1.0 How about you make yours and make sure it's good then let me rate it.…
People are entitled to their opinions jut like how u rated this "awesome" While yes i do feel like giving it a 1 is too much, lets not act like BL police here. There were many flaws in the drama already discussed.
Again read the "negative comments" as some have given clear evidence and reasoning as well.
Lets not promote toxic positivity when the drama clearly has problems. Adaptations should live up their standards. There is nothing wrong with fans wsnting quality, if low budget BL's can do that so should this
The manhwa is so different that they might as well write a new story instead of using the same title and character…
Are u blind?💀 The straight couple are main leads too. Look at MDL cast page and IMDB. You aren't the one deciding the main leads the director is and its announced publicly 😂
And do tell me how Chanyoung fliritng with Ji yu contributed to a gay storyline? And them holidng hands and running too. Care to explain? Like what makes it improve the queerness of the show?
Well, I'm a gay man and I liked the show. Are you implying that, I, as a gay person am uncomfortable with gayness…
U as a gay dude should know how proper representation matters. Are u saying queer people should be happy with the bare minimum? U think all those western countries got their gay rights by being satisfied with the bare min? Korea is a homophobic country, and there is 100% no reason to "water " it down especially when its audience is BL fans, queer people and allies. As for queer identity nothing was elaborated on. Imagine where queer cinema would be if people settled for watered down stuff like this? We'd never be heard nor treated like humans.
And Its an adaptation! not an orginal drama. Its obvious people are gonna get downright mad! What did they think? that people are gonna praise them for doing it wrong? Also mind u the directors and producers added the straight couple as main leads to greenlight the series. This was told moths before the trailer was even released.
as for the author? It seems like u have no knowledge on how adaptations work properly. Authors have LITTLE to NO power when it comes to the script, casting or directors. If u want read about it, unless ur J.K Rowling, what happens is that they simply sell the rights to have the boo k turn into a movie/tv series.
Honestly, I don’t get why people are hating on this. Sure, there was no kiss. Sure, there were no explicit scenes.…
Since when was a "kiss scene" porn? 💀 U don't know english? And MIND U many gave proper detailed explanations on the flaws of this series. Mind u I have watched many Bl's with ZERO kiss scenes, The untamed, cherry magic but they always delivered! The chemistry wasn't there. Sad u need to call people porn addicts cuz people listed its flaws. Idk what BL's ur watching but most BL's aren't softcore porn. This itself is a fact.
I haven't seen the show. But reading the comments, even without knowing the source material, the show has enough…
If u didn't know the straight couple was added by the production to greenlight the series, and yes this was confirmed months before the trailer was even aired, haven't u ever wondered how Chanjoung and Ji yu running together holding hands or flirting contributes to a gay drama? What does a straight couple orvide for a gay drama? Forget having a straight couple what's the use in watching them being loveydovey contribute in anyway?
The manhwa is so different that they might as well write a new story instead of using the same title and character…
He moved on from his crush in under 4 mins. genuinely if u had a crush on ur bestie for that long it won't die out that fast AND develop feelings for another either like instant ramen noodles lol. Had they included the scenes from the book it would make more sense.
They could've shown heesu healing from getting over his crush, Heesu's inner turmoil and complex feelings, rather than some pseudo metaphors which hardly conveyed queer feelings.
Time and time again many have provided EVIDENCE that the series is out of pace, and goes pretty much nowhere.
U refuse to acknowledge many of the facts presented by other commentors, including the fact that the straight couple contributed NOTHING to a gay storyline. The manhwa did fine wihout it too.
And guess what? The production decided to make the straight couple main leads to "greenlight" the series. How is that NOT demeaning the gay community? This was told months before heesu was released.
And please before u say coming of age stories many of us aren't newbies to BL. Some have been here since the beginning of BL, we know the difference between fluffy bl and coming of age stories. U see people going after fluffy KBl's in their mdl pages? No, cuz they delivered only what they promised.
And lastly this is an adaptation. Ofc fans are gonna get angry if its not adapted properly. Imagine the uproar if Harry potter storyline was adapted wrongly?
As many mentioned by others, this drama might have done well when it was originally filmed i.e nearly 3 yrs ago, but the bar is high, no ones gonna be happy with bad storylines. Seems like the production put this off for fear of tanking, but didn't consider the rise of BL and quality of it. They seriously underestimated us
Can someone tell me if this is worth watching from a gay POV? I have no interest in gay people being side characters…
The het couple are leads too unfortunately, however u can skip them, Great acting by the actors ngl, but the story feels too rushed. It does have some queer elements, like being the 1st drama to introduce lesbian moms, overall its a good binge watch, not bad but definietly not memorable/special.
Just wanted to check when this was filmed and look what i found on reddit lol
"It has been two years since filming was wrapped and all we got was a poster. Some of the actors were reached out, some of them don't know, but there are two problems, the show has no network. Second directors and producers were a tug of war, there seems they tried to add another straight couple to greenlight the series."
Ig it all makes sense now. The straight couple to greenlight the series was forecasted long ago before the trailer was even released and so was the disjointed part of it
Am I the only one who likes this show? This is the reality in Korea. Homosexual couples don't show at all or keep…
True realism is for drama's like Love in the Big City. Ofc it touched only a part of the Korean gay world but as reviewd by many korean gay youtubers it speaks the truth. Heesu in class 2 was a mixxture of BL and Queerness, which could've done so much better in terms of both but didn't quite live up to it. Its disappointing to see its potential being mellowed down like this when it could've been among the greats like To my Star, sematic error etc
This had potential to be as famous as "Semantic Error, To My Star, Blueming,Love for Love's Sake etc " Unfortunately the ending was pretty meh. 7/10 for me. Good production and great cast and beautiful OST,but it felt a bit lackluster and as we all predicted.... rushed. Such a waste of potential.
Well it all makes sense now. The straight couple is listed as main cast. Should've kept them as minor characters. Cuz who actually gives a damn about Ju chanyoung's tennis? Its become so laughable that such an amazing manhwa has become bad.
Unclear storyline, major chemistry scenes cut off, a random straight couple, them being leads? Poor romantic development, and rushed final episode for sure. While its certainly watchable (great acting to be fair) I feel like it missed out on a lot. Not expecting much from ep 10, but hope it ends with some sort of confession/development.

Are u genuinely kidding me? U think this describes authentic queer life in korea?
They could've shown heesu healing from getting over his crush, Heesu's inner turmoil and complex feelings, rather than some pseudo metaphors which hardly conveyed queer feelings.
