Both leading actors are not exactly famous except Jing Chao., the supporting ML. Both leads are completely eclipsed…
The drama IS Jing Chao. His character completely drives the story and the leads revolve around him from beginning to end. And the actor is absolute perfection. I am such a huge fan now
This is a fantastic drama and definitely one of my absolute favorites. I kind of can’t believe it’s so under the radar for so many, though, and so unappreciated by so many too. I loved it 💯.
Yep, learned that in Strangers Again (at least one good thing about this drama lol) Cheating is ground for divorce…
Def not hard 😂Especially now that she can probably do a paternity test on eunseo, now that she knows (I bet I-rang still has one of eunseo’s hairs from pulling it earlier in the ep lolol)
Just fyi, Korea doesn’t have a “no fault” divorce. As I understand it, if you don’t have the consent of both parties, you need to have some kind of proof of wrongdoing. I-rang asks everyone if they think their mother is gathering evidence, because she’d need that for a contested divorce.
I am probably most excited for Yoo In Soo (Samshik) in this. He was perfectly awful psychopath in All of Us Are Dead and then he played a complete 180 character as the biggest romantic in Alchemy of Souls (I didn’t even realize it was him till part 2 aired!) and I’m hella excited to see him play a new character that is a mix of those other two (a romantic psychopath!)
Lol nah, it isn’t on her to watch a prisoner. She’s a doctor not a guard. I was annoyed at anyone trying to…
Nah, can’t agree. Unless her job responsibilities include “also guard prisoners if you’re the only one around” then the management can’t punish her for not doing it. She took *personal* responsibility by telling the guard she’d watch the woman, but that has no bearing on her own job. The guard is the one who’s rightly at fault.
Asking for the cuffs to be loosened isn’t a bad thing either. It’s not like she slipped a key to the old woman lol
Im actually hoping she’s not that bad like she just want to befriend her sister or just be acknowledge, but…
I’m pretty sure the show is quality enough that the daughter won’t be a 2 d villain like others seem prepared for. I think it’s more like you’re suggesting, but with a confusion between wanting to befriend her sister, being jealous of her family relationship, and trying to protect/support her mom.
I’m actually super invested in her story so I’m excited to see where it goes!
It's not like everyone here hates her but she is no saint and let me tell I have seen more teenage girls then…
Hm, well Im sad that you describe your life as fucked up, and I hope for good things for you and your future
As to the rest… dramas are *dramatic* representations of real life, so they reflect things like emotions but on a grander, more visible scale.
So even if the teen daughter does things that would be super bad irl, the point of fiction is to help us see and understand different perspectives. Pretty much any drama that has meaningful character development will help the audience relate to its characters. I’ll be super surprised if we don’t see a very interesting arc through the two daughter’s relationships (to parents and each other).
Oh all of that was implied in your first comment. But instead of finding her sympathetic and pitiable for being a teenager (awash in allllll the overwhelming emotions that come during those years) who has been growing up with feelings of guilt (for her mothers family turning her back on them), of being abandoned (by father, maternal family, and also a little by her hardworking mother) of longing but also jealousy (for a sister- who seems to have it better), youre anticipating that you’ll find her contemptible.
You clearly aren’t alone in this opinion, judging by the comments, but it does seem to come from either inability or unwillingness to empathize with her circumstances and feelings. At least that’s the way it comes across to me
Oh no. These comments after ep 6 have proven the rule that ppl hate teen girls more than anyone else. So many of y’all want to hate on a girl who’s struggling and legit say you already hate/will hate her more than the man who has a legit hidden family. Oof lol.
to those who have read the novel, is it ok to watch this drama WITHOUT watching LBFAD?
💯
I’ve read both and they have nothing to do with one another. I’m gonna guess the only thing you might miss is the significance of any cameo appearance or any reference, which is insignificant to the plot
I’m curious what Sung-hee’s daughter’s motivation is.
I wonder if she joined the hagwon specifically to get to know her half-sister. I get that impression, but I can’t tell if it coming from a positive or negative motivation. Does she just want to get to know her sister? Does she want to worm her way in and mess with their lives? I’m incredibly invested in that storyline right now
I'm loving it so much! I really like how the son is so supportive of his mom (and I think she's going to become…
The positive and supportive son/mom relationship is such a refreshing take on the second chance trope. It feels like a more true-to-life representation for gen z kids too. Millennial kids were more like the 18 Again kids lol
Usually I try not compare adaptations but soulmates is one of my faves. In my opinion the Chinese version is better.…
I quite liked this adaptation but I do think it kind of tamed the emotions felt by the characters in the Chinese version. I don’t think it’s a bad thing, because it gives the story a different reason for existing, but it does make the attachment between the girls much more obvious and less complicated than in the Chinese version.
Asking for the cuffs to be loosened isn’t a bad thing either. It’s not like she slipped a key to the old woman lol
