MOT portrays how a small mistake snowballs into a bigger tragedy coupled with misunderstanding and hatred.
Hyeon-myeong, Seong-pil, Doo-yong and Gun-woo decide to spend a night in the 'mot', their secret hideout to celebrate their last winter vacation as teenagers and Seong-pil's sister, Kyeong-mi's birthday. The party goes on through the night and Gun-woo and Kyeong-mi decide to take a walk into the village, but they end up in a motorcycle crash. As they don't come back for a while, the rest of the children set out to look for them. Later, they find Gun-woo's motocycle abandoned and Kyeong-mi's body, stone-cold dead, lying on the street. At the sight of his sister, Seong-pil goes wild and beats Gun-woo to a pulp. Because Gun-woo goes missing, only the other three friends graduate and go their own ways. Four years later, Hyeon-myeong, who was also at the scene, leaves the army and returns to his neighborhood. His friends welcome him back, but he does not want to see them because he has not yet recovered from past suffering. Eventually they have to face the truth of the event that happened that night...
This film could be a reincarnation of Mystic River in the form of low budget Korean independent film. MOTt tracks down the suffering of childhood friends through the accident a long time ago. Those involved all want to forget the tragic event, but one of their friends remains missing for many years and his father still lives in the neighborhood waiting for his son to come back. The friends want to disclose the truth, albeit belatedly, but the situation has reached an irrevocable point.
