The Legend of the Dragon Pearl Season 1, needs Season 2 desperately!!!!

I watched this on Amazon Prime, so only 62 Episodes. I had to list 90 here so that it would mark that I completed watching the show.

CAST: The actors were amazing. They all played their parts well.

I have noticed that the female leads are not strong and this is a global dilemma. Female leads should have stronger character.

ENDING: The ending is a no ending - It is not shown that the emperor killed the people that tried to assassinate Li Yihuan in the palace. Additionally, it not shown that the emperor full fill his promise to Li Yihuan.

Additionally, to show Li Yihuan died/murdered mysteriously in the last episode, which is about two episodes where the Prince of Ming saves Li Yihuan for the countless time with giving almost all of the last breath is simply ridiculous.

The ending just leaves you hanging. So it appears, that there should be a season 2.

Hence, Season 1 needs Season 2 to accompany it, with the same cast, same role. I hope the Li Yihuan is still alive, but has not cheated the emperor. I would like her to return mature, stronger. and still a bit care free and light.

I rated the show based on the ending because the ending of season 1 makes the show pointless to watch, it makes you feel that one has wasted their time watching the show and actors wasted their acting skills.

If anyone has information regarding whether there is a season 2, please let me know. I searched for season 2, but could not find anything.

I originally began watching this series because I like two of the supporting actors, I have not seen the two lead actors in any notable roles before. The romance aspect is super cute although frustrating and too drawn out at times. The rest is gripping although it does just seem to start dragging in the middle it does pick back up. I loved the music and visuals. Some of the story was quite hokey, especially the doctor's way of telling what was causing sickness. If you watch this show I would strongly suggest you skip the last episode and write your own ending in your mind. It will save you a lot of confusion, frustration, anger and tears. It's basically a 30 second ending for a 62 episode drama that leaves no questions answered at all. This has got to be the biggest "what just happened!?!?!?!" moment I have ever had with any show. It's a shame because it would have been beautiful with a better ending.

What could have been...

So this is one of those shows that could have been really great but missed the mark. Lead female is not my favorite, she seems to pigeon hole herself into these dramas where her character is ditzy, over the top, and stupid. In this one she is supposedly innocent and naive but she was just not likable. In my opinion she never really cared for the emperor in any way shape or form. I honestly did not care what happened to her at the end. The male leads portrayal of the emperor was ok. His character was a bit pathetic. He said he loved her and made so many excuses for her but posession comes to mind rather than love. In my opinion there were also too many side characters who really served no purpose. The whole plot and all relationships were built on lies and reveng so you know where that is headed. There are many reveng driven dramas in c-drama land but the characters tend to have one or two redeeming qualities that make you root for them. Many people commented that the male and female leads had great chemistry but not in my opinion. There are far better historical fiction cdramas out there.

Stop watching this drama in the middle. Because the story is too slooww in progressing,i feel like i'm wasting my time.
If you have enough patience and a long weekend with nothing to do and to watch .
You can start this drama.

The beginning of the drama quite good actualky..there's comedy and romance. But the storyline is to slow in progress.

I love the female lead though..She's good in acting and looking cute too.
I'm hoping foward for her other drama, that have a good storyline and to slow plot????.

Insufferable, is more like it

Sometimes I admire people who can tolerate being dragged through the mud pond and still be able to come out on the other side bright happy and clean, or just put on their blinker and ignorant, oops I mean innocence and watch all 90 episodes of this hilariously stupid series. This is how I felt about the epic story of Legend of the dragon pearl after 18 episodes of a stupid girl just get more and more stupid as it progresses, and by then she is still oblivious as who the Emperor was is just the last straw. All arrows point to jump-ship! And I did. But too bad, the FL is actually quite a good actress and so is the ML, but the script is just too cartoony for my taste. Sorry, this is just me and has nothing to do with you. I have been watching too many dramas with great potentials only to be let down by incredibly bad scripts, perhaps that's the reason why lay on thick with this one. A victim of my frustration.

I couldn't find episodes past #39, I have questions!

I came to watch this title because I'm a fan of Liu Xue Yi. He played Wu Ying Qi, a Support Role.

I watched it on youtube, and couldn't find the rest of the show past episode 39. So yeah, WHAT happened to the 2nd male lead?? What happened to Liu Xue Yi's character, the 2nd son of that other king who sent the relics? Did he wind up with the girl with the scar on her face? Was her scar ever fixed? Who took the box? So many questions...
I won't watch the last episode, since I read that spoiler. I HATE dramas with unhappy endings, and am annoyed that I watched 39 of one that was heading that way, but that's just me.
