Hurricane (2019)

A rural land reform work team of our army, led by the young commander Xiao Xiang, arrives at Yuanmao Village in a liberated area of Northeast China. The tyrannical landlord Han Lao Liu still holds real political and economic control over the village. Under Captain Xiao’s leadership, the work team both exposes the landlord’s schemes and counters his attempts at coercion and bribery, while also mobilizing the masses and engaging in a struggle against Han Lao Liu. When driven to desperation, Han Lao Liu colludes with remnants of the Kuomintang armed forces to attack the work team. Xiao Xiang leads the peasant self-defense force and, together with Yi Zhi Hua and Han Xiao, eliminates the remaining Kuomintang forces, personally killing Han Lao Liu.
