For some reason, the emotional beats felt…

For some reason, the emotional beats felt a bit off to me in this episode. I get why Anthony would beg the reporter not to publish the biggest story of the year, but for some reason, I rolled my eyes. And I get why Jin Jin's mom would cry as she talked to her estranged daughter who hung up the phone, but why did she run away in the first place? It doesn't sound like the family went through anything especially arduous.
