This movie beautifully displayed the stress and concerns of a high school student preparing for college. High school atudents are usually balancing their studies and their social life and this movie showed exactly that.There wasnt any fluff to it, the movie got straight to the point and showed a realistic and calming approach to high school.
The FL and ML both had their struggles being stressed by their studies and overbearing parents, which pushed the leads together. This "puppy love" strengthened each lead to strive for the better.
This film just proved that first loves are ones that people will remember forever, not exactly love that lasts forever. Panning back from the present day to their pasts in high school was a nice way to prove this point.
