The Chinese drama Our Glamorous Time was alright at best. It had potential at the beginning and the drama was alright in the first half but it went downhill after that. Our Glamorous Times is about the romance between an ex-special forces soldier turned CEO of a fashion company and a fashion designer. The cast was alright and so was the soundtrack but the plot was a bit of a letdown. I would not recommend this drama to anyone unless you like watching romance dramas and don't care much about the plot.

A Promising setup - miserable result

I started to watch this drama because Female Lead is Zanilia Zhao who is an really charismatic and talented actress. She is particularly good at portraying strong and independent female characters - maybe she herself is a natural born hero. At the beginning everything was promising, main plot seemed to include military, fashion design and business aspects. Lin Qian ( Zhanilia ) is a talented designer with great ambitions. However immediately when she started getting attracted to male lead, her characters behavior degenerates to a silly little 11 year old girl. This kind of role development is annoyingly common in C-dramas even it has no basis in reality. On the contrary Studies show that women act more rationally than men when it comes to love.
It was sad to watch Zanilia to waste her talent with this ridiculous character.

In the first episodes we saw action scenes which were like a copy of American special forces movies. Sorry, but different variations of these scenes has already been seen hundreds of times, so they are totally worn out. Watchable but not impressive at all. After some 10 episodes writers seemed to totally have forgot the original plot and the drama become a silly collection of borrowed scenes eg. accidental kisses, hugs, embrace and whatnot.

Overall, this drama combined almost all the bad aspects of Chinese dramas. Worn out "classic romantic scenes", patriarchal males, male chauvinists, submissive women who fall in love with men who treat them badly and on top of all that we can watch women degenerate to little girls when they get attracted to men. Oh, and as usual male lead is a "super-hero"

Some actors and actresses were pretty good - but the characters were so bad that their skill was just wasted

This drama can only be recommended to viewers who only focus on whether the Male Actors are handsome or not. Although this might be disappointing for them too

Big budget drama with superb cast

This drama has a little bit of everything. It’s got great romance, hilarious comedy, office politics, great fight scenes, and intriguing side characters. It’s not super light and fluffy but it’s not a real angst ridden melodrama either. It’s somewhere in between.

Storyline:
This drama has the most original first meeting of the main leads I’ve ever seen. The male lead is performing a military operation in the middle of the jungle and ends up risking his life and his teams whole operation to save the female lead from her kidnappers. He quickly disappears after saving her and she can’t identify him since he had his face covered the whole time. It’s the sweetest moment when she finally realizes, after being thrown together in the business world for some time, that he’s the one who saved her. The main plot revolves around the rivalry between businesses in the fashion world. It’s very interesting but the constant sabotaging, stealing ideas, and ruthlessness in the business world is overdone and gets a bit irritating. But the great romance between the main leads and the second leads along with some great side characters saves this drama. The male leads friendship with his military buddies was touching as they were obviously closer to each other than even family members would be. I also adored the female leads sweet protective older brother and wished I could have seen more of his story.

Acting:
The female lead is the same one from “The Story Of Minglan” which is one of my favorite dramas so I knew she would rock this drama and she did. Her acting was amazing. I was pleasantly surprised by the male leads acting, he’s really good and his fight scenes were awesome. I usually have at least one or two actors whose acting I’m not impressed with, but not with this drama. They’re all really good.

Romance:
The main couple have an amazing romance. I like that they take their time getting to know each other and gradually fall in love because it made it seem more realistic. It was a nice touch having them workout together which was really cute with her sitting on him while he did sit-ups and push-ups. There’s princess carrying, piggyback rides, and lots of cute romantic moments. My only complaint is that the kissing scenes weren’t very realistic with the just touching lips and staring into each other’s eyes type of kissing. There are several other couples in this drama that are fun to watch too. The romance is done right and really shines in this drama.

Cinematography & Set Design:
This was obviously a big budget production because the sets were very elaborate. The scenes in the jungle with all of the fighting, bombs going off, vehicles blowing up, and guns blasting away looked like something out of a big blockbuster movie. And the wardrobe worn by the actors were all very elaborate and quite fashionable. The editing was smooth and seamless with no choppy or confusing scenes. Even though there were some timeline jumps I was never confused or lost at any time. So I would say that the cinematography and set design were top notch.

My overall thoughts:
This is a big budget high end production with a superb cast of great actors and a good storyline. What detracts points for me would be the great length of the drama and how the backstabbing and rivalry of the businesses is taken too far. If the drama were shorter and if the business rivalry hadn’t gotten so nasty and hadn’t been drawn out for so long, then the drama would have been perfect. But I do like how everyone came together in the end to defeat an outsider that wanted to monopolize China’s designer clothing industry. It was a nice twist to what could have been a boring and predictable ending. This is a good drama worth watching. I don’t rewatch dramas very often but surprisingly this one drew me back and made me watch it again.

I watched this because of Zhao Li Ying. Watched this feel quite interesting actually. This drama for me listed as easy to watch & funny drama. But read several review write here quite make sense... ^_^

Several reviewer write the plot kinda jumping from problem to problem, when i think about it... Yeah agree with them. But really only Zhao Li Ying drag the entire drama together...? I can't say so...

I really like they give other couple relationship even though I feel there is some couple that been forced together. Like Ning Wei Kai (NWK) and Grace. I really feel they just forced and drag to be together. Yeah NWK been in love with grace the entire drama, and we loved to watched them being together in the end, but still feel forced just because NWK loved her from the beginning.

Gu Yan Zhi and Li Jin Yuan relationship just wait for them to be together. But i really loved how in the end Chen Zheng chose Chen Ya Yi as his couple. ^_^

As Lin Qian and Li Zhi Cheng themselves being too fast to be together? Yeah maybe a little bit too fast. But love how they support each other.

Overall: One of the best drama? Of course not. But is it worth to be watch? Yes I think for you who look just easy to watch drama, this drama is still worth to be watch.

Re-watch: Love to re-watch several scene.

Feisty Female Lead + Manly Male Lead

Chanced upon this show and decided to give it a go after reading the positive reviews written by other viewers.

Show didn’t disappoint. Of course, there will be *annoying moments* (my pet phrase already) but the good moments outweigh those irritating moments.

Watch because:
- female lead is spunky and cute in her own way.
- female lead is capable and as the show develops, fondness for her grows.
- male lead is the manly sort - soldier. Strong. Manly. Dependable. My kind of man.
- plot moves fairly fast.
- acting is generally good.

Overall, a very watchable show!! Recommend!

I honestly feel like this is a high rating for this show. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good. It’s a really great show, I was hooked with the action and the connection between the two main characters and I absolutely adore that there was barely any massive family issues. I love the soldiers that stuck by the main leads side and I truly did like the female lead. Some people are right though, it was like the secondary characters got more screen time and I barely BARELY cared for their stories, not because it was bad but I’m like wow, boring. It’s a good show, I guess I crave for a little more romance, ya know? If it’s a romance I need more of it but we barely saw the 2 with any screen time. Around the 30 episode mark I can’t lie, I got a little bored. To the point where I thought the show only had 40 episodes but it has 50 and I was bummed. But also at the same time, I kind of don’t want it to end. I could use for a little more tear jerker moments. The couple was just so sweet so there was never a rough patch which is a nice change of pace but I like a good cry and my heart strings pulled. All in all though, between the story and characters and OST, it’s a good show. 8/10

I started this drama for 2 reasons, first of all, the female lead, Zanilia Zhao, whom I saw and liked very much in Rookie Agent Rouge. The second reason was that it was based on the fashion world, and I admit some of the clothes they wear are amazing.
Nevertheless I'm truly dissapointed with this drama. So, in this review I'm going to point out the worst, the bad and and I would need to think about the good longer.
The worst:
- It's really boring. It's more or less ok until the 20th episode, but after that it almost impossible to follow up. For me it was a whole month to finish the last five episodes.
- the male lead... OMG!!! worst male lead actor ever!! He wouldn't change his expression if he's in love, he's fighting or he's is planning. I hope he would be better in any other role.
The bad:
- the scriptwriter added so many secondary stories that the main one kind of disappeared in the mist of 50 episodes. The only thing that was ok at the end was the appearance of Chen Zheng and Chen Yayi... I like them and I only stopped the fast pace with their story.
- the main couple love story is ok at the beginning of the drama, and completely uninteresting the rest of the time.
Something ok? The first episode: adventure, action, romance, friendship... Watching it you could thing is going to be like that all the 50 episodes, but not, it's good, but the feeling only last a short moment.
Don't watch it unless you are able to understand Chinese and you can do anything else at the same time.

Buy one get two

It started with a tremendous suspenseful opening and was quite watchable in the following until halfway through the show, despite all sorts of limitations. The bad guys were after the good guys, the good guys fought back valiantly, as it should be.

Then this story ended and a second, completely different one began. Why? Perhaps the author had a revival experience? Did God or the producer speak to her? No one knows why.

The vicious, even criminal actors purified themselves into good guys with whom one could fight together against the external enemy. There was forgiveness, cooperation and friendship that the rind cracks!

Some actors did a good job, but the women often have the voices of 11-year-olds and behave like 12-year-olds. On the other hand, the men are annoying with their protective and controlling behavior. Especially the FL's brother is a pitiful example of overbearing presumption.

I felt especially sorry for Zhao Li Ying, who is a high-profile actress. She had to act at a child's level here. It really hurt to have to see my porcelain girl act like that! Also her voice, miserably dubbed, was like that of Quitschi the rubber duck. Let's not even mention actresses like YaYi, my laptop can't take it.

Enough said about this attempt to fabricate a drama, greetings, friends of the night!

This is a great drama. Although a little bit too long, the actors did a great job bringing these characters to life. The drama has a lot of tender moments from the lead couple which has a healthy relationship with great communication and mutual understanding and, best of all, no annoying love triangle. This drama offers a good amount of action, conflict, and romance. Even though the lead couple's intimate moments could've been done better, their great chemistry brings a playful, thoughtful, and steadfast romance that truly makes up for it. Enjoy it!

Just bad...

This is the most childish drama I ever watch. The plot is lame and lack of imagination. The writer is obviously intellectually challenged for writing such as ridiculous story. It tried to have twist in the plot but failed badly. I have to give up watching Chinese dramas. It is just getting worst by the year. This writer Ding Mo is really childish. No research at all. Just simoly write a story without any consideration and expect audience to accept this crap? Too many contradictions and China propaganda messages. Will never watch any movies or dramas written by this childish writer.

I hate this idea of evil character being forgiven and all forgotten like nothing happens

This show has a great premise. A story is interesting, it has lots of potenatial, great atmosphere and such. However, it doesn't make sense at all that the most evil character of the story is constantly being whitewashed and cleansed from all his wrongdoings. It's just disgusting. He keeps lying, cheating, flirting with a couple of women at the same time, scheming all the way, using all the means - crime, harrassment and assault, espionage, hacking, dividing people, breaking relationships - literally everything just to achieve his business goals and win but then - people who should never forgive what he had done just forgive him easily like nothing happened, a woman of the now dead ex betrayed by him forgives and falls in love with him for no reason, forgets the original idea behind her action, changes sides betraing her allies, also
- his great opponent - the ML becomes his ally and saves him in the same manner.

I keep asking myself - why, what for? It's totally not needed at all. He should pay for all his crimes and that should be the lesson from this show. In contrary, it's teaching that everything may be just forgotten, forgiven and solved without any consequences. It doesn't make sense!!!

Also - through the course of the series there're a couple of idiotic bets. Why on earth people bet on that! It is obvious and easy - just refuse. Even the whole culmination is from such a stupid bet. If it was me, I'd just laugh in the face of those people provoking me and wish them luck to find another idiot for such tricks? They think I am afraid - who cares, let them think this way! It's so, so, soooooooo idiotic in this series.

First I want to claps for another Ding Mo's pieces that being made into a drama~~~
People who watch this maybe said "why is the opening different from the novel?" etc but the way they did the drama more logical and easily being made than the one in the novel. The actors and actresses did a good job to act their characters and QianZhicheng mysterious backer Lin Mochen being presented earlier and show he was a normal human than in novel.

The bgms, opening and ending songs were perfectly picked. I love the customs since it based on fashion theme the apparel not so much showy (tacky) and poor either (they change it from bag to fashion apparel). First 4 episode did a good job for attracting us to another episode, the tense per episodes perfectly made offer us to concentrate more, the lines, angles, and their position were good. Scriptwriter Ji An and Director Zhang Feng did a very good job make OGT like this~~~ What I was shocked that Meng Rui so excellent portrait the bast*** Chen Zheng.
Like The Eternal Love 2 this drama will be on my bucket list drama.
