The  story of "Kikyo" is very interesting, a how it is told enchants, the  film is about a man but perhaps a little lost in life Haruo (Hidetoshi  Nishijima) who returns to his hometown to attend the marriage of his  mother widow . Once, a new love, Miyuki (Reiko Kataoka) who works in various jobs and still rears an 8 year old alone. After a meeting one night, Miyuki asks a Haruo to visit him the next day. When Haruo comes to visit, all he finds is the 8-year-old Chiharu. What starts as a mission to find Miyuki together is more a lesson in life, love, responsibility and bond to Haruo and Chiharu. A captive film difficult to explain what becomes so attractive, but everything, camera work, an update, a story, are excellent. Everything was in tune and harmony, an exceptional movie.
