I absolutely loved episode 1. It was funny and it really set you up for an entertaining ride. The series revolves around an ambitious lawyer who is also a dreamer, I.e marry rich, own a mansion etc. all perfectly fine. Our male lead is cast as man without goals however after watching the series I disagree with synopsis.

What I liked about the series was that it showed the sacrifices some make to achieve their dreams. Some include family and love. I felt the kids were great actors and funny..

What I disliked is the female leads personality. She was judgements of everyone for nearly 70% of the series and she seemed to lack maturity/decision making skills. There was a relationship that took place that mDe no sense and it ended the same way.

Our leads never actually got together until the last 5 minutes of the last episode And even that was one of those reunited after time meetings. All I can say is “I’m glad it was short.”

If your looking for a romantic comedy/drama this is not it. I’m not sure what it is at this point, I’m not even sure what the plot is/was. It ended the same way it started.

This drama came out in 2011 why oh why am I only watching it now urghhh. And why is the rating so low?

I went in with low expectations and came out thoroughly satisfied. I rarely finish an entire drama. I dropped my first kdrama BOF mid-way, dropped Buzzer Beat at its last episode, haven't watched DOTS past ep 8 and the list goes on and on. I like raw human emotions, without any extra garnish on top, and I like good endings, not necessarily happy ones but good ones nevertheless. This one had a happy ending, a bit rushed, but a nice one.

The female lead is headstrong, someone who is determined to make something out of herself because of the circumstances she had to face. I found her a bit selfish at times, found myself relating to her at others, but found myself always rooting for her. She won't disappoint in the end!

Gahhh. The male lead and his smile is killer. His character is great too. Loved the chemistry between them, something which was quite natural but quite electric as well.

The star of the show for me was Hinata. Terribly cute and terribly intelligent.

One of the rare dramas with no villains or bad characters. It's a must watch in my opinion!

Zenkai Girl bears all the hallmarks of a well-made Japanese romcom!

Believe me, everything about this drama is just great. WATCH IT NOW!

There was not a single dull moment, all the characters are so endearing and likeable, and the chemistry between the two leads is just OVERFLOWING it makes you root for them to be together until the very end. Nishikido Ryo played his character so well, and the little girl who acted as Hinata is so talented. Every episode had moments to make you laugh, cry, pull your hair out of anger/frustration, and feel butterflies in your stomach (Episode 8 in particular!). This drama was chock-full of romantic moments and moving life lessons. AND the writers ended it perfectly. It all came to full circle at the end and I couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up the story. Will definitely be re-watching this in the near future and for many years to come. It's THAT good.

P.S. Get me a man like Yamada Sota (aka Nishikido Ryo)... He's so fine lol. His puppy eyes make me melt every time.

I have to say, the summary is quite misleading; it makes the show seem like any other comedic Japanese drama with a role reversal. While that does sound interesting enough, there is a lot more to the story than just that.

I DID question the existence of some characters, but they were all so lovable that I can't bring myself to say that they were unnecessary. The best part is that there is no 'bad' character- people who you think are going to be complete jerks turn out to be pretty awesome. The main characters have only one enemy: themselves. This is one of the very few dramas where I liked EVERYONE. Like, literally EVERYONE.

Our main female lead, Wakaba, is an ambitious, smart and hard working young woman. She went through a harsh childhood with nearly nothing and practically made her own ladder to climb up the ranks. Hence, she consciously looks down on people she deems 'ambition-less', which includes our male lead, Sota. Sota, in fact, DOES have ambitions of his own, which he unfortunately had to give up to take care of his incredibly adorable son.

Thus, the whole story revolves around each of them finding what really matters: being honest to oneself and following their dreams or going with what they think is the 'right' way.

One of my motivations to watch the show was Aragaki Yui, who was great as usual, but what surprised me was Nishikido Ryo, of whom this is my first drama. He blew me away with how adorable he was (I paused like, 10 times just to stare at his smile), not to mention how well he acted as a naive, caring father. DEFINITELY watching his other stuff.

Really cute drama. It made me smile and laugh a lot. The story was very frustrating at times and I did feel from time to time that the story was unravelling, but the it was still very good. I liked the role reversal - He was the nice one and she was the one with the stone exterior.

A Heartwarming Cliché

At first, I thought it would be just like typical enemies to lovers trope. But it is more than that.

I say that it's cliché because of the slowburn and somehow childish FL and ML who doesn't dare to confront their true feelings but yeah it somehow what makes them looked so much cute, a puppy love like a teenager, being shy, pretending, and denying their feelings towards each other.

Then it's heartwarming because of the parent-children story. I will always shed tears no matter what for this kind of relationship. Nishikido Ryo did a very good job portraying a hopeless and lovable step-father I can't help but fall for him.

However, I also thought that this story will be boring for the rest of the episodes but the acting of the actors make me somehow root for the end of the story. I can feel I'll miss them someday lol.

Afterall, I think I can recommend this drama even to parents because of the parenthood things we can learn from it. Also for the romance, I will recommend to every enemies to lovers trope enjoyer. Not a must-watch, but a worth-watch for me, give it a try!
