The Legends Episode 3 Reactions
The writers decision to make the "good sects" the true villains is brilliant. Zhao Yao believed Luo Ming Xuan's words and teaching, but she could clearly see he was a hypocrite and not afraid to tell him. The chilling part is that Luo Ming Xuan could not even for a moment see that. His own words had no power over the idea he already had. Zhao Yao is right! How many other poor souls were killed just because they might to evil. Minority Report anyone?
The whole montage of Zhao Yao becoming a badass of her own sect was cool. Cool enough to make up for the fact that we don't get to see her rise to power!! Not to mention that she sealed Ming Xuan!! What!! You go girl. She's a women you don't cross and her sect doesn't need to be labeled. They help justice and take in those that the "good sects" have wronged. Though it was a bit of a twist to see her stealing those nom-noms from that poor kid. It's interesting seeing all those people just run when the Zhao Yao I know wouldn't hurt innocents.
What I didn't like about this episode is that Mo Qing suddenly gaurds the gates to Zhao Yao's territory. I mean when did he get any skills to guard? Hello! Zhao Yao is my main lead, but Mo Qing is also a lead! It's sad though that they basically don't have any contact after that. I was hoping friendship at least. I'm happy there isn't any romance yet.
Though who knows. Maybe they'll show that they were friends and how Mo Qing become a fighter or something. I just don't like it when think aren't linear. I'm tired of flashbacks for stories. Unless it serves a true purpose of surprising the characters and the viewers it's just lazy writing. I'm looking forward to more of this drama anyway.
Despite flaws The Legends really packs an emotional punch. Luo Ming Xuan betrayal of Zhao Yao was so swift and absolute it was painful!! I felt with her and I was despising the "hypocrite" right with her. Right and wrong is never clear cut and the good guys are probably more villainous then the bad guys.
