Marimar (2007)

Marimar is a naive young woman who lives a happy life on an island. Brought up on the island by an old couple who found her drifting by the sea, she knows nothing of her tragic past. She lives carefree until she meets Sergio Santibañez and falls deeply in love with him. However, when Sergio learns that his father married his ex-girlfriend, Angelika, Sergio decides to seduce Marimar and make her marry him to get revenge on Angelika. But Sergio, touched by the innocence of the girl and the feelings she has for him, eventually falls in love with her. Angelika becomes jealous, which makes life difficult for Marimar. Sergio, to protect the latter, abandons her with the hope of returning to seek her when he earns enough money to take her away from Angelika's wicked plans.
