Joy of Life (2019)

There are nine actors of Joy of Life that are also in My Heroic Husband, if you want to watch a similar cast.

This is a drama I can proudly say takes the mantle from Nirvana in Fire. I am privileged to watch this gem.

Those 2 dramas are very similar.
Alchemy of souls has a very strong wuxia vibe going on.
The costumes and the powerful fighting skills.
Both of the MLs have a hidden birthstory, both are mistreated and cave their skills power and influence all by themselves.
JOL does not have romance as much as AOS though.

Both of the these dramas share well crafted scripts and well executed plots twists. Well integrated humor permeates thoughout both dramas. No useless episodes that drag or stupid secrets that go on forever. Enjoyable!

it's intriguing from the first six episodes

Both have cheeky protagonists that are impressive thru smarts and/or strength. Although The Untamed has a little less romance, both plots are very well thought-out. There is just enough mystery to drive them. Both include cultivation but The Untamed doesn’t involve royal politics. Joy of Life doesn’t overly use royal politics but interweaves it with social understanding.

Even though Joy of Life and Douluo Continent are different in terms of visual FX and plot, both dramas:
- are very captivating as adventure series,
- have a romantic storyline, but do not revolve around it only,
- the ML is growing his powers throughout the whole show,
- have great stories for supporting characters,
- ML has loyal friends and seniors who teach and support him greatly.

Both have emperors who are smart and ML's who are smart. While JoL is little lighthearted tRoP is more darker. JoL has young characters and tRoP has older characters but both are equally eye candy. Both have interesting schemes that keep you on the edge.

Shrewd, manipulative, and self-aware ML. A complicated storyline with shifting loyalties and criss-crossing relationships between different roles. FL is significantly more BAMF. A must watch for viewers who enjoy clever and complicated storylines that reward intelligent viewers without unnecessary drama mucking up the drama's pacing.

Li You in Zai Xia Li You and Fan Xian in Joy of Life have both come from the future. Therefore they have read all the poetries written in later times in school. When they go back to ancient times, they recite all those famous poems written by well known poets, and amaze everyone. They are thought to be the geniuses and are respected by all.

Both main characters secretly perform many tasks even under the eye of the king. They also both have secret identities.

If you are a fan of historical drama's full of intrigue, schemes and a charismatic lead. It is all about brotherhood, friendships and drama that comes with palace politics

- Cunning, tactician, strategic & calculating protagonists
- Political intrigue & power struggle
- Calculating emperors throwing challenges at the protagonists
- Love stories with devotion

1. both Male leads are intelligent and have future knowledge.
2. Both plots are similar to a chess game, with multiple players.

similarities:
both have a good balance of comedy and drama
plot twists and schemes
both MC are intelligent (in SOKP the FL went back in time and in JOL the ML have modern world knowledge)
power struggle between a lot of factors
differentials:
SOKP have more romance while in JOL it's more about ML dealing with schemes and stuff

-they're not that similar but in my opinion if you like one you will like the other
