A tragic ending to a very overextended story

I was hoping for a more happy ending twist. Throughout the show, I was expecting the evil spirit would lose more of his games. At the beginning of series we were told how these two detectives were essentially rivals for the evil spirit just to show they were outwitted, outdone every single time. Evil spirit was overpowered. And lacked any sort of mystery. It was just constant chase with scales never being in favor of the detective. If that was intended then telling of character importance was done poorly. When goons tried to take down the evil spirit, he requested smart thugs - what was even the point of that, they didn't even do anything smart. If all of that was to show just how untouchable the evil spirit was then, again, it was done poorly because he was summoned easily and went overpowered easily so there's no reason why any other spirits can't become overpowered and battle him on even ground - it certainly was implied it's possible. Evil spirit challenging God was certainly interesting and I don't mind heaven not responding directly as it shows how small the evil spirit actually is in the grand scheme of things, no matter how powerful he gets. And on that last point, I think that was the intention, spirit affairs are just the same as human affairs, those who dissipate are forgiven and have a chance at making good life again, those who go to heaven, get deserved rest and shamans being able to summon spirits from heaven and hell just shows that the spirits were not quite ready for final rest yet and heaven/hell was needed for their journey. Those who suffer at young age, is result of other human decisions. We also saw evil spirit play with this, asking who is the murderer. when he manipulates people into murder. At the core of show's God scheme, murder is not the point of the judgement - it's just humans get hung up on it due to fear. As the show told at the end, evil can't prevail - there is no need for God to do anything extra about Evil spirit because other humans already are working against him. This point also allows the story to kill everyone because death is never end of it and suffering inflicted are human/spirit affairs humanity needs to grow out of. And many will have number of reincarnations until humanity gets there. I guess it was a story of how even the worst evil pales in front of the God's scheme, just as the greatest good won't save you from living through consequences - all being equal, souls get freedom of choice which is impacted by freedom of choices by other souls. I wish the show implied this a little harder but oh well.

A Supernatural Drama That Lost Sight of its Strengths

I'm just going to assume Netflix K-Dramas that aren't romantic comedies or dramas are always going to get rid of half their cast towards the end of their run from hereon out. This is the second show distributed or produced by Netflix to do this.

Last Episode - So Unsatisfying

At the beginning of the last episode i reated this a 9.5. The leads were great amd i had faith that the writer and/or director would give me an ending that would make up for all the death. Nope - i felt let down. Cant even rationalize by saying it was true-to-life due to the overwhelming evil that really does not get punished. However, the leads were still great.
