Akina fans will like it more than the average viewer
Border is about a psych profiling specialist called in to investigate murders. Each episode is very formulaic, with an overrarching narrative on why they main character is the way she adding another layer of tension.If you are reading this, I think it is likely you found this drama because of the lead, Akina Nakamori. She does very well in this part, as well as providing the opening song. What elevates this drama for Nakamori fans will be the kinds of cases she takes on, and by the end of each episode, comes to an understanding with the offender. Her attempted suicide 10 years prior to this drama bring added weight as she engages with criminals or victims who either lost the will to live or the will to abide within societies walls.
In conclusion, I would say one would not regret watching this show, but it is very much a product of its time, and if you do not already like the lead, it may be a slog.
