Kuwano Shinsuke, a successful architect, is well-to-do, knowledgeable and good-looking. He is now 53, still lives alone in the same apartment, which has the latest gadgets, and enjoys a single life. Although he fell for Hayasaka Natsumi, the doctor who treated him and changed his perspective toward marriage, and even dated, they later broke up. So Kuwano’s heart is shut firmly to love again. He is even more eccentric now and feels a little anxious when he thinks about the future. One day, the wheels of fate start to move all of a sudden after a chance encounter with some women. Reviews
Which concludes to yourself being aware of how great and soothing this drama is.
Season 2 is not as great as season 1 but definitely good.
If not a 10, it's a 9.
We've our usual Kuwano and some new female characters with quite some familiar reference characteristics to season one, but still, their character is fresh.
The 2nd season is not a continuation of female characters from season 1.
Whole new story, same layout with Kuwano being difficult but more amazement of how one can write such an awesome plot.
When I heard a 2nd season was coming, I was hell lot excited to see it .
Don't miss out on this ^^
Gives the same slice of life as season 1, on par with it as well! ^^

If you love the first season, this is a must watch.
I learned about the second season of this wonderful series on Reddit. Unfortunately it was a warning not to waste time watching this because it's no where as good as the first one. Anyway that didn't prevent me from giving it a try. Even if the story is mediocre, it's still worth watching because of Hiroshi Abe alone.Half way through the first episode, I knew I made a right choice! All the factors that made the first season such a masterpiece are maintained perfectly in this next one. Similar sense of humor, stellar acting from everyone in the cast. There are only so much stuff you can talk about life of a single person, so it might feel kinda repetitive if you binge watch both seasons in a short period of time. However they're designed to be aired 13 years apart so I guess it's fine.
The only thing that I really don't like is the main story arc feels a little bit rushed. The build up between main characters is still somewhat lacking so the ending feels kinda unnatural. If there are 1 or 2 more episode to focus deeper on the interaction between them it would be better. Anyway I always treat this series as a lighthearted comedy so I still love every minute watching it. Hiroshi Abe really nailed his role once again.
