Tony Schneider, a famous Austrian skier who lost six of his friends in an avalanche, leaves his native country to travel to Japan. While working on a cargo ship, he becomes friends with the Japanese head cook, Kotani, but does not reveal his identity to him. Kotani takes Tony on a tour of Tokyo, where they meet a beautiful music student, Harue. Later, they all go to Shinshu, where Tony meets the beautiful Yaeko.
