Everything in drama is just perfect

I watched this drama because of a reel I saw on Instagram I thought this a love triangle kind of a story but fall in love with the story when I started watching it . Tu Songyan's character is so good. This drama shows how good a person can be and how selfish a person might be to leave their child. This drama contains a special kind of affection. All the characters were so perfect for the roles .I felt bad when the girl was left alone after the boys left and when they came back it was so awkward between them .

Very entertaining and realistic feel-good drama

First of all this drama felt soo good. I dont know how but it just felt really good to watch. It had a nice vibe while watching. I must say I did think that it was gonna be another one of those stupid, over dramatic and complicated love triangle dramas but this drama felt very natural. The romance in this drama is also very light and has a ton of comedy in it. The screenplay's really well done. I avoided this drama for a very long time because I thought it would just be dragged long condiering how many episodes there was but it rteally wasn't dragged at all. From how they met as kids to how they grew such a close bond, it all felt wholesome. I genuinnely recommend watching this drama. Although I did feel that the story felt a little boring and maybe a little too 'not-dramatic'. It was great watching them grow through the ages and overcome their differences, changes and grow closer together. I loved every aspect of this drama and it also had a very wholesome ending! The acting of the cast too was just as amazing! I could feel great chemistry between the three leads and I very very very much loved the character of Dad Li. He was such a strong and compassionate character, he melts my heart. Overall great entertaining drama about what makes a family and the struggles within a marital household. And about how the people hurt learn to heal. ??????????‍???‍???‍⚕️?

Totally awesome series

WOW

I absolutely loved this series and am sorry there is no more to watch. Loved it so much, I am compelled to write a review.

Music: One of the few series where I watched the Intro and Credits because of the songs. Just wished there would have been some upbeat songs.
Acting: I have to read the subtitles, but the acting was still so top level performances. The tone, intonation, expressions all rang true to keep me engrossed. I had to playback several times to keep up with the reading because I was so busy watching the acting.
Story/Script: Definitely made me cry in some episodes but there was enough laughter to avoid total sadness. One of the best I have seen so far.

I will definitely re-watch in the future.

This drama is a very nice. I have already rewatched it 5 times already. I just can't get bored of it. Can't lie, its my favourite chinese drama.
The acting of all the characters are very good and realistic. Great chemistry from seven tan and her two brother. Loves the ost and it fits well with every scene.
Great story line and it has wide range of emotions in a good way.
From this drama, the only thing that I hate is Ling Xiao's mother. She is just untolerable. She think that the world just evolve around her and everyone is talking bad about her. She doesn't really love Ling Xiao but just want to use him. But in the end she also come around, so thats end well.
Overall, its really worth it to watch Go ahead.

Found Families Forever

I love a good found families drama, which this does exceptionally well. The two fathers navigating raising their respective families and leaning on each other is absolutely adorable. You can feel the love and friendship they build over the years. Quite frankly, it's their relationship and the relationship they build with the kids that resonate with me the most. That, and the overall love of food that is intrinsically tied to the story. Some of the best food cinematography I've ever seen, even in cooking shows.

The relationships between the three main leads, particularly their romance(s), was less interesting to me. I didn't dislike the characters themselves and I liked the moments of connection between them, but I felt the various romantic entanglements derailed parts of the story. The side characters also took up too much screen time (although I do have a special place in my heart for Tang Can). That said, the parts that didn't work for me never detracted from the heart of the story. All of the actors did an amazing job with their role and I overall enjoyed all of their performances.

Go Ahead and watch it.

I really enjoyed this series from beginning to mostly the end. Not that I didn't like the end, it was just a little drawn out. I liked all the characters. Everyone thinks the Ling Dad is the stronger one because he is a police officer but he is continuously bullied by Li Dad. Their arguments are so funny.
The plot was predictable but I still liked watching it.
I think Ling Xiao has PTSD from his sister's death and the subsequent imploding of his mother. I don't like the fact that it was never resolved and he sort of uses JianJian as a crutch or a lifesaver for when he goes through episodes.
I hated his mother from the very first episode and I hated her to the end. She was so selfish.

Lovely show, worth watching

This is probably the best C-drama I have seen so far. The story is touching and you can't help but love it. There were only a few aspects I disliked (spoilers)

--- spoilers below --

I thought the could've done at least without the second brother forming a love triangle, since he really was adopted by her dad and really did grow up as her brother.
The secondary characters - the friends were kinda meh, and not very interesting or funny. They could've been a lot better.
Ling Xiao's mother story line was too long, too much and too annoying. She was the worst, and then it was resolved as if by magic. Bad writing there.
Ling Xiao's character as an adult was... kind of terrible? He was moody and depressed, and loved Jian Jian in a pretty unhealthy way. I also thought their relationship was pretty underdeveloped as adults and wish we'd spent some of the time that was wasted on his mom on this aspect instead.

A Wholesome Masterpiece

I came across this show while scrolling through Instagram and someone had shared several clips from this show. It appeared adorable, and because I can be fairly simple-minded, I saved it so I can watch it later when I was bored. So four days ago, I started this show because the series sounded interesting, it had high reviews, and plenty of praises from fellow viewers. Now before I continue, I just want to say that I've watched plenty of dramas before, and there were a handful of shows I've thoroughly enjoyed watching, but I never wrote reviews about them before because I felt there wasn't much of a point. However, for this show, I simply had to so I created this account to share my personal review.

Now to begin, I am not an overly sensitive person. I don't often cry or tear up when watching shows, even if it is emotionally moving. But at the end of this show, I was legit crying. Tears dripping from both eyes for a little while and where I was sniffling and needed tissues kind of cry. I was also incredibly speechless as I tried to process the thought that the story was done and there were no more episodes.

Now onto the main review. While there are 40 episodes in this drama (from where I am anyway), never once did I feel like it was too long. I've tried watching other C-dramas in the past, but I only finished two (now three) out of the ones I've watched simply because of how perfectly executed and paced this story was. Not only was this show just so WHOLESOME, but it truly stamped a place in my heart about life and most importantly, family. Be it blood related family or family brought together by circumstance, it showed both sides of the story and how, no matter what happens, you always lean on family.

This show has everything from great casting and acting, excellent music, a well thought out plot, and beautiful storytelling. Not one thing was left unturned, in my opinion, and everything was resolved at a perfect pace. The cast had this undeniable chemistry with each other that I felt from my screen. It was so natural, so warm, and each character had their own story told to us viewers so you can come to an understanding about them. This drama showed me that humans are indeed flawed creatures. We are far from perfect, we jump to our own conclusions and handle situations in a way we think is best. We tend to hold in our problems or utilize it to hurt others or ourselves. However, there is room for forgiveness and redemption. We just have to want it and try to make a better life for ourselves. It is never too late to start.

If you guys are looking for a show that is realistic with the right amount of drama, comedy, grief, romance, and just wholesome content, look no further. I know my review is one out of many, but I hope this review can help spread the love of this show and how well done it is.

A huge round of applause to the directors, the writer/s, the cast, and everyone else involved in creating this masterpiece. It is truly one of my absolute favorite dramas ever, and I can definitely see myself rewatching it in the near future.

MUST WATCH!!!

So going into this drama, I was very very very skeptical. I don't usually watch this kind of drama but for some reason, It always popped up everywhere. I kept skipping it after reading the synopsis which was so plain:

The story revolves around three troubled youths who find solace in their common experiences to become the best family that they can be for each other.

I mean, that's it ?! A story about three people who find solace in their common experience, but after actually seeing the cast, I quickly went to watch it, coz they are all some of my favorite Asian actors.

And to begin it, even the opening theme song sent chills all over my body and I could feel how heavily emotional this drama was going to be. This drama can be summarised into one phrase.
"A bunch of broken people puts together to create one big beautiful family."

THE REVIEW BEGINS...

This story was exceptional. It will always have a spot in my heart. Everything was phenomenal and I must say, I specifically bought a box of tissue just for it.
The acting was so good that I felt like I was that hidden family member who was invisible, but there.
When I say this drama was so emotional, I mean I could barely hold my tears in every episode. In most movies or dramas, Someone has to die or get sick or bullied or something drastic for you to cry, but in this drama, even just a simple smile would drown you in tears.
You don't even have to see it coming. One time they are laughing and making fun, the next second one of them says something and you just find tears rolling.

The way they are so broken makes even the simplest of things seem so heartwarming. Something as simple as buying her brothers a milkshake made me tear up with a smile or even calling each other for a meal.
Don't get me wrong, this is not going to be one purely sad captivating drama, the humor they have here is unmistakably one of the reasons they have such amazing chemistry. I find myself laughing with them. Crying with them. Getting angry with them, even feeling tired and exhausted of life's troubles with them.

But that's not all. The chemistry between them is super strong that the way they interact sometimes just makes you smile because it is those kinds of chemistry that you can see and feel and not because they said it in the synopsis or the poster.

Overall. This is a must-watch, for people from every walks of life, every gender, every age, and every preference of genre. Take your time and just watch it.

A great family story that ended a little weak

This drama started out strong. It was new and refreshing. The story of two (three?) broken families that come together to raise their children and provide them with a happy home.
The family dynamics were amazing, the actors were able to convey great familial love in a very realistic way. We saw how families are not always perfect, but we are always there for each other when needed.
Honestly the relationship the two dads had was one that made us think they were romantically involved, and that was ok. It was honestly sweet and very heartwarming all around.
It also dealt with mental health issues, even if how that was addressed wasn't fully satisfactory.

Where this drama started to fail is when it rushed to the finish line. Things were glossed over. The relationship with the mother, how she reacted to not getting her way, all the harm that was caused to several parties, it was all just glossed over, like a switch had been flipped and now everything was ok.
Also the dad ending up with a woman all of a sudden just felt like they were trying to make sure there was no gay triggers to pass censorship.
It all felt rushed, unnatural, and kind of a WTF ending. I wish they had taken the time to resolve things in a less dramatic and abrupt way. Even the side stories were left hanging with no resolution.

Lastly something that bothered me quite a bit was how blood ties are glorified here. Maybe it is a cultural thing, but a mother that abandons her child does not have the right to come back when the child has grown and demand that he be her caretaker when she is going through some rough times. Much less does she have the right to ask from anything from that child after severely abusing him. But in this drama it is made to seem like as her child he should give up everything he dreams for to take care of his mother. No one seriously intervened and tried to make this situation stop and in the end no one made sure this lady faced some serious consequences for her actions. It was a bit upsetting.
Even the side stories had a recurring theme of the child having to yield to the parent even when the parent was being unreasonable and causing strife. As a mother this seemed wrong, we shouldn't teach our children that they should always bow to our requests, we are humans and make mistakes also.
Anyways that is my little rant and why this drama didn't score a 10 for me.

Wowed!

Not to be cliché but this drama really is a MUST WATCH! Thanks to the cast, director, writers and staff for this amazing drama. It’s the best Cdrama I’ve seen so far and I’m glad I watched it ?? There are so many life lessons that I learned from watching tho I must say it did a number on me emotionally. Like I literally cried, laughed my a** off and expressed pure rage in some scenes (caused by the MOMS!!!!) Bruh at some point I was beginning to think the writer(s) had some mom issues because they “were” all sickos especially Ling Xiao’s mom. Gosh she’s a good actress! Legit made me so mad every time she appeared that I started dreading what kinda selfish evil nonsense she’ll do next!

Now to talk about the LiLingHe family, omg I loved them all. So heartwarming and cute interactions especially between the 3 siblings ??. Seven never disappoints, I wanna see more of Weilian and Steven improved so much(Ps watch Skate into Love ?. Also I could watch Li Pa cook for days, like there was something about those scenes that were so satisfying

PS I hope I’m not the only one who legit loved Tang Can’s outfits!!

A simply wonderful story

A wonderful drama about what the word family is really about, and which is both tragic and at the same time heart warming.
No cliché moments or over acting, but subtle yet hard hitting scenes.
The child actors are excellent, as are the rest of a very natural and believable cast.
There were times I was so angry with certain characters and others when I was frustrated and irritated by them. However, the outcomes and morals of the stories within a story, explain so much.
Money cannot buy happiness, but it certainly helps and I liked that this drama never pretended one can survive on just love and fresh air; it's far more true to life. The saying about blood being thicker than water is also proven to not always be true.
A very apt and fitting soundtrack also accompanies this must watch series.
Now a firm favourite and one I will definitely watch again, as I'm already missing so many of the characters (Song Wei Long and Steven Zhang were especially good in theirs) and I honestly couldn't find fault with it.
