For those with social anxiety.... (Maybe spoilers, may not?)

If you're like me and have mild to severe social anxiety and you need a pick me up or a reminder. This is for you! For us. Someone will come along and waken us up and realize that the world isn't always as dark and as cruel as it may seem. Nan Xi the sweetest boy who didn't hurt a fly and they were cruel and Xia Rui with the purest heart who showed him that no matter what you go through in life, there will always be someone there. That that person will always remain by your side. There's a lot of lessons to learn, like how one person who you thought was your enemy can become your friends, that it's never too late to find love, or to even start your life over again whatever that endeavor you want to do may be. This was the most heartwarming genre and I cried, I got mad. But I also know it's okay to break out of your shell. That no matter what good always outweighs the evil (Gao Ting) and that their teacher is the best damn teacher EVER!!! He's the male version of an old teacher of mine. It books to become a boring, cynical and logical teacher, but it takes love and heart to go the extra mile just like there's did in high school and in college. It takes a daughter who academically struggled to open up her mother's heart and realize sometimes not EVERYTHING she says is always right and logical and that home, friends, and being local is just what she needs to succeed. As much as I like the ones that have the drama in it and that gets me on the edge of my seat to get to the happy ending this one is the best. There's no drama, well apart from Gao Ting trying to ruin Nan Xi out of jealousy oh and in the early days of high school, but other than that, easy and fun. This is the third drama I've watched with Wan Peng and my first with the male lead actor Guo Jun Chen and I can't wait to find more of their works in the future.

Why... oh why... didn't I watch this sooner

The female lead in meeting you is amazing. She's very different from your average leading lady. Besides, the amount she falls in the first episode alone is just amazing. Funnily enough it keeps happening since she keeps falling or being clumsy. I love her so much and she's such a mood. I've never met such a relatable female lead in a cdrama.

Meeting You is just sooo cutešŸ„ŗšŸ„ŗ and it keeps getting cuter and cuter. I even urged my friends to watch it since it's just so darn adorable. And don't even get me started on the social anxiety rep šŸ„ŗšŸ„ŗ It's sincerely the best social anxiety representation I've seen in such a long time and that says a lot since this drama is from China (nothing against China besides maybe some of the questionable decisions of their government, but its society is also pretty conservative. So I wasn't expecting much from the mental health representation but in all honesty I was blown away by how they handled it).

I literally almost cried twice already.

I do need to get something off my chest: WHY ARE OPENINGS OF CHINESE SHOWS ALWAYS SO DAMN LONG?šŸ˜‚šŸ˜

Ooooooooeeeeeh they have a new intro logo since the gang is now at university. Me likey likey likey, me likey likey likey.

OMG MY BABIES ARE FINALLY TOGETHER! IT TOOK AN ETERNITY FOR THEM ALREASY ACTING ALL LOVEY DOVEY BOYFRIEND-GIRLFRIEND ROLLED, BUT FUCK YASS IT'S OFFICIAL NOW.

I normally hate kids in dramas but damn Xia Rui's sassy little brother has captured my heart. One of the best drama kids I've encountered.

Also, the amount of times I almost cried while watching this drama is more than two handfuls. I was apparently too emo for this amazing shit.

Nan Xi and Xia Rui are just absolutely the cutest.

Feifei finally became Liu Bin's girl and I was soooo happy that he came back to because he was one of my favorite characters.

The two friends were cute as well but their drama became at one point too ridiculous. Their ending was nice though.

It would have been a 10/10 show if Nan Xi and Xia Rui didn't constantly tell each that they would stay together forever. I mean c'mon after the first few times we got NO NEED TO TELL AS A BAZILLION TIMES MORE OKAY. That's too repetitive. Also, at times Nan Xi showed a bit too much of a controlling side towards Xia Rui (not that she really listened to him anyways) but that's still something that impacted my level of enjoyment. It also got a bit repetitive towards the end.

5-10 eps too long

Honestly if they had cut down on the episodes this might have been much better. I shockingly enjoyed the beginning part of the drama aka the high school period over the second half of the drama aka the college period. The writers lost the plot in the 2nd half and it was super boring and beyond ridiculous.
There was nothing absolutely nothing based on reality in this drama in the aspect of the characters, they were just all too unrealistic especially the Male Lead but I wasnā€™t really mad at it, I love watching series for the fantasy even though I still want it to be rooted in a bit or realism.
You might have thought we would, for the 1st time escape the hospital troupe in a CDrama but low & behold that was not to be, they found a way to insert it into the drama come hell or high water.
I struggled so badly with the rating for this drama because with how much I loved the 1st 18eps, the vein in which I loved it, is in the same vein in which I loathe the remaining 10eps. The brightest star of this show is the little boy, he was such a delight and stole every scene he was in, I also liked the high school teacher, he sure has the best teacher award from me.
Do I regret watching this, not really but I definitely will not be rewatching this drama as I struggled to finish it and was thankful for the fast forward button which was maximally utilized from ep21 and I honestly ended up not caring about both the main lead couple and the secondary couple now matter how much I initially enjoyed their diabetes induced sweetness because it had no humph to it and ended up being a juvenile middle school romance. I wish Young Beautiful Shu ended up with Sibo and not Cheng Erluo, he was better off as her best friend to be honest and it would have made the drama much better IMO.
FYI to CDrama writers not every childhood crush should end up together forever, forcing this troupe when it doesnā€™t work just brings down the value of the drama but what do I know..

This is great if you want a light watch and dont mind if nothing exciting happens

I loved the characters, FL was determined, loud, funny, and not annoying. I liked how she gently coaxed him out of his shell and never pushed him too far or got frustrated with him. The friends all had fun and unique personalities. The relationship between FL and ML was mature and very healthy, almost too healthy at times. I really loved the dynamic between all of the characters but I lost interest like halfway, it got very boring for me but I kept watching because the characters were so well-written. The main couple were one of the most wholesome I have ever seen, you can really tell they deeply care for each other but the show ended up being all fluff and no substance. I loved it in the beginning but had lost the will to live by the end of it.

A light show that gave me all the feels. I wanted to be friends with these people!

I tend to get frustrated with the length of Chinese shows. This one has 28 episodes of between 30-40 minutes each, but there is about five minutes of credits at the beginning and end of each episode, so ultimately, this one didnā€™t drag on for me.
I loved this drama, for multiple reasons: Very low angst, no evil parents, no evil ex trying to break the couple up, no break up for stupid reasons, no misunderstandings/miscommunication. There is a lot going on in this show. Not only do you have the main couple, you have friends, other students, teachers, and family. There was a time gap, but they were together during that time ā€“ that was SO refreshing!
STORY: The story of the main couple was very refreshing. They were supportive of each otherā€™s dreams, they listened to one another, they enjoyed each otherā€™s company ā€“ the way a real couple should be.
The friendships were excellent. The story is about a young man with social anxiety and how debilitating it can be. The underlying moral was that we are all different, we each have things that we struggle with, but with good friends beside you, you can not only overcome but grow as a result of those friendships.
The pacing was pretty good. Some of the scenes could have been shortened for those of us with attention difficulties, but there wasnā€™t any time that I thought ā€œwhy did they stick that in there?ā€
CAST: The entire cast was very good, and I felt that each person was perfect for their part. I have to expound on the main couple, though. Fiction Guo as Nan Xi was perfect. Iā€™ve never seen him in anything before, so I donā€™t know if the paleness of his skin was natural or if they made him up that way. Either way, it was brilliant. That, along with his mannerisms of someone suffering with a disability, I was immediately drawn to him and felt empathy for him. Not wanting to be touched, not making eye contact, stooped posture as if trying to be invisible, it was heartbreaking to watch, but it was absolutely lovely to see him bloom and come out of his shell as a result of the friends he made. He had to put himself out there to a certain degree, which was hard for him, but there was a definite reward at the end. Guo has a beautiful voice that was especially effective in the voice over work that he did in certain parts of the show. Wan Peng as Xia Rui ā€“ first of all, she was cute as a button (though her hair hanging in her face all the time was irritating me!). Xia Rui was where the writers of this really shone ā€“ she was very talkative and talked very fast, so she probably had more lines than everyone else. And she had some wonderful lines! She was the kind of person that you would just want to be friends with, bubbly, supportive, standing up for the underdog.
CHEMISTRY: The friendship/love chemistry was strong with the main couple. I honestly was able to understand why they loved one another. Everything made sense. There were a couple of okay kisses, but honestly, the way they spoke to one another, I sometimes felt like a voyeur.
The music was pretty non-descript. I could watch this one again, though I may not because thereā€™s so much other stuff I need to get to! If I were to watch it again, Iā€™m sure Iā€™d feel like I was visiting old friends.

I've seen both of the leads in another dramas so I was curious on how they would play out this story. This is another coming of age drama that spans from high school to university and was honestly curious of how Fiction Guo would play out this timid, introverted male lead. The female lead, Xia Rui is a headstrong extroverted girl who crosses paths with this introverted classmate, Nan Xi. At first he is wary of her presence but he opens up slowly especially when he found out that she was his childhood friend. I don't know if it was because of that, but Nan Xi being possessive at times is kind of funny considering that he is timid. The second leads are also funny in this drama. I am in awe though to see the contrast of acting from Fiction Guo from the arrogant singer in Accidentally in love to being timid from start to end in this drama. I had fun watching and it was just a simple, lighthearted drama which I appreciated since I am sort of not a fan of unnecessary love triangle plots unless executed tastefully.

Light-hearted and school life

The story line is good enough, it is worth to watch especially when you're into high school life type of drama. Guo Junchen portrayed his character so well. I love the role of Wan Peng as well, she really have all her characteristics in dramas as a strong, independent, carefree woman.

I skipped some parts of an episode where in it takes too much talk in the scene or nothing is really happening which is what I dislike. The love line between the main roles is really cute and heartwarming,

I'm hoping for a season 2(to see more of Guo Junchen and Wan peng together <3) I love their chemistry!

PS: I just hoped there were behind the scenes tho. I'm thinking of why they didn't release any or I just didn't see any? :(

A Sweet & Caring Youthful Drama

This is one of the dramas where you can watch with ease and not feeling entirely angry or frustrated. I'm already going to give kudos to this drama for not having typical C-dramas cliches. There's no breakups, no misunderstandings, maybe a few snobby prideful characters but not really evil, no evil parents or in-laws, secondary characters are not jealous evil psychos but instead are best friends with the main leads. There is a mini conflict towards the end so it does kind of follow the typical last minute issues in a C-drama but thankfully this conflict doesn't effect the relationship with our main couple.

What was great about this drama: I just love the support that Nan Xi & Xia Rui have for each other and how they just want to be together and there for each other forever. We first see Nan Xi as a shy student with social anxiety. I was really sad for him since he just looks so sad and depressed in the beginning but thankfully it didn't take long for Xia Rui to remember that Nan Xi was her childhood friend and she began to support him emotionally which is great because he really needed that close friend. At the same time, Nan Xi supports Xia Rui with her grades and helps her improve her poor study habits. I also love their two friends Cheng Er, the loudmouth & Yi Shu, the smart but quiet supportive friend. Just seeing these 4 bonding and their silly moments were enough to make me enjoy this drama.

Romance wise, though we do see a lot of chemistry between our leads in the high school episodes, you'll have to wait until the high school days are over to see any progression and kiss scenes. There are 3 couples. Our leads get the most spotlight, the secondary couple comes in closer towards the end of the drama but you do see some hints throughout the drama and the third couple kind of just popped out of nowhere with very little screen time, which in a way makes me wonder how our main characters ended up being close with them anyways since they hardly interacted with them in high school.

What was missing from this drama:
- The root cause of Nan Xi's social anxiety disorder: It wasn't really clear what the main cause for his disorder other than being bullied/teased as a kid (even though Xia Rui as a child protected and spent time with him)
- The lack of screen time for our third couple Liu Bin & Yu Fei: Development of this couple and the friendship of them with our main characters seemed lacking.
- The developing friendship with Gao Ting: The writers messed up on this part. Gao Ting could've played a bigger role in the college episodes. Gao Ting felt alone and unimportant. Liked the guy walked away by himself after saying that and no one has concern for him. Geez... show some compassion writers. This could've been a great opportunity for Nan Xi who hasn't really made friends on his own, to make his first friend by himself with Gao Ting. That could've show another step for Nan Xi to grow out of his social anxiety. Instead, the writers make him a bad guy because of jealously towards the end.

Overall, if you need a drama to pass time while you are waiting for another drama or one that doesn't give you heartaches and headaches, I would recommend giving this one a try.

Heartwarming and beautiful

Iā€™ve been getting pickier with dramas recently, maybe itā€™s because Iā€™ve seen so many but I hardly binge dramas anymore. This one was a lovely surprise.
Itā€™s not too complex by any means. Itā€™s very much light and fluffy but it has that special something that makes you love a story. The characters just honestly love and support each other. There arenā€™t many ā€œvillainsā€ in the story. It mostly centers on each characters personal struggles and their journey through life. I think Nanxiā€™s social anxiety was presented quite well and his journey to opening himself up to others was believable and not rushed.
I give the main couple huge props for their communication. They really talk things out and have virtually no misunderstandings. The ostā€™s are also a really nice accompaniment and the show as a whole gave me the warm fuzzies and left a smile on my face.

Sweet, light but kind of a tease

You can almost feel the smell of coffee when you watch this easy to watch easy to binge C-drama with little drama and more fluff. About two people who bring out the best in each other and are would fit in the enciclopedia under the You complete me.... kind of thing yet border o co-dependent... The side couples and side stories are also sweet, but actually have more drama than the main couple however they an asset to the drama instead of an annoyance that many other side couples often are.

The drama itself deals with some jealousy and how easy it is to start a rumor, yet hard to take it back as well as the consequences rumors can have on peoples lives. It has a fight back , friendships rock and together we can do anything kind of spirit to it that I liked. I also liked the woodwork and scenery shown in the drama.

However this drama probably holds some kind of record in almost kisses, and kisses being interrupted and not taken up in years of dating making me seriously wonder about these peoples will power to hold back, lack of hormones or just the generall message of kissing is shameful... I ave seen other dramas where they hide the kiss behind a parade and those where they never kiss and found it odd but fine, but this constant teasing was a tad frustrating to watch so I must warn you about that. Also the way they talk about mental illness is a bit iffy too, yet still try to show that we are all different but mental illness is used as a slur so be were

But other than that definitely worth watching.

Sweet Romantic Drama

I loved this drama - its a sweet rom-com , smooth sailing without the usual fights, break ups and misunderstandings. Shows three phases of lives of Main Leads (High School/Uni/Going abroad to study together & return back)..its such a feel good drama.

The main lead as Nan Xi (Fiction Guo) did an absolutely brilliant job, he totally axed the character & so did Xia Rui (Wan Peng - she's used to these kind of characters I guess), but truly the star was Fiction Guo. I watched couple of his drama's earlier, but he looked absolutely gorgeous in this drama (maybe its his character Nan Xi innocent, brilliant genius characters always does something to my heart.

In the drama, the lead characters had a fantastic relationship, very protective of each other. It was so interesting to see the growth of Nan Xi from the shy timid boy to a confident young man - all thanks to Xia Rui...just adorable! There are lot of sweet, romantic moments between the main couple & funny missed/failed kisses - the first kiss was in episode 26... Story would have been complete if there was a wedding scene & couple of scenes five years down the line were included...as it is its a nice & happy ending.

Highly recommend to anyone who loves soft, sweet & melodrama free shows.

If you just finished a really dramatic series.. watch this.

I really enjoyed this light hearted and drama-free ride!

The actors and their characters are charismatic and nice. The story isn't really deep, but the chemistry between the main leads make it enjoyable. There's no big plot twist or huge dramatic events, and it's a nice change in the midst of a lot of over-the-top dramas.

Overall I recommend it for those looking for something light and innocent to watch.

PS: Fiction Guo is simply GORGEOUS here......... just a bonus that I really appreciated haha
