What a Disaster
I'm really struggling to find the words to describe how I'm feeling. I couldn't understand how such a loving show could have such negative reviews but oh boy does it all make sense now. The show was perfect even flawless. I also did not mind the ending. The ending after the ending now thats messed up. I was so emotionally drained by the time the real ending popped up I couldn't be happy at all. It just left me bitter. I don't know what made me more disappointed. The fact that the ending had no explanations or the fact that they thought it would be acceptable. It was just so bad and poor Mr.Kim. Mr.Kim at the very least deserved a proper send off. I Dont know what to say the ending was a pile of poop. Was this review helpful to you?

I cannot believe the ending!!!
I literally binge-watched this drama in 2 days.It was that enjoyable until I got to episode 14. All the reviews and comments I'd read before I began watching it did not prepare me for the last three episodes. If Jun was going to come back, why have his mum lie about his death and keep lying to everyone for five years? What if Ra-Ra had married someone else? Who lies about their death like that or their son's death? Only to resurface after 5 years and expect to carry on from where they left off? Utter nonsense!
I cannot believe the ending... did not make sense AT ALL!!! I wish I knew what the writer and director were trying to prove.
Rant over, I loved the actors and their acting, the characters and the story up until episode 13.
I didn't like Go Ara in Hwarang (the only drama of hers I'd seen prior) but she totally nailed this role.
Lee Jaewook was amazing as always. It's so hard to believe that he is so young!
Everyone else did a good job.
The piano pieces were lovely, a bit too long in parts but they were a lovely addition.
Skipped over some of the other side characters' parts but it didn't take away from the drama.
I probably would not watch the whole drama again, but would definitely watch certain parts of it.

16 hours is not that long, but if you're watching this, it'll feel like 16 days
If wasting your time is what you like, then please do watch this. It’s only good as a background noise.PLOT
Did someone in the meetings, say to make this drama a bunch of cliches and not even pull it off well? The whole time, i could see cliches upon cliches happening, and just failing to be something. Like a child writing every princess story and including everything from the original stories, making it super cringy and overcooked. Everyone agrees that the ending was not pulled off. They wanted to create a flare near the end, which ratings prove that it sparked SOMETHING, but couldnt pull it off in the end. This drama had no substance, the plot is only good on paper.
ACTING
It was fine, Lee Jae Wook seems to be best, and excel in being a cold and moody character. Im not sure if i like that because there were many parallels between (Sun Woo Joon) and from extraordinary you (Baek Kyung). Maybe similar in characters, but id expect for them to have differences and be able to distinguish, but not the case. This may seem insulting, but Go Ah Ra cant pull off a naive, dumb, rich girl. It just didnt work. It was like watching a older mature woman tryna act cute and innocent and being cringy. It just didnt work and she is a good actress, but this role didnt suit her.
OST
It was okay, i like classical music being incorporated in it, of course its a drama about piano therefore it’ll be classical, nonetheless it was an okay touch. The rest are just mellow, boring songs, and i couldn’t get into any of them. Would not listen on their own.

Unrated by some
I read most reviews and can’t understand the low rating. I found this drama very appealing and well written. The cast was wonderful and storyline carry a good flow. Perhaps some didn’t like the ending, but it did make some sense of why . Overall it’s a good drama and a good watch. The two main leads had good chemistry and although they is a age difference between them , they fit well together. The male lead had those unique eyes that made him seemingly surprised in some of his parts. He did an excellent job in his role. The female lead was very charming throughout the drama, as she played a innocent role of her surroundings. due to her father’s in my opinion the lack thereof of to much protection from him.
The other young kids were very cute, although the female was to bossy and always hitting the guy.
The doctor and his ex was a funny add to the drama and really well mixed together.
The piano music was an added pleasure, nice to have this kind of music in our days.

i loved it,,, until
I don't know where to start. I originally started this drama because I was in the mood for something lightweight, cute and mushy; and that is what I got until things started to go downhill however for now, let's just remember the good things.Ra Ra - I absolutely adored RaRa. She was so different from the other female leads I had seen, she was just so loveable. After everything she had went through, she was still so bubbly and had a positive outlook on life which was just so adorable. Her personality changed her everyone for the better and she was just a joy to watch as a whole.
Sun Woo Joon - GOD I fell in LOVE with this man. I first watched him in Extraordinary You where his role was the complete opposite so it was kind of odd to see him in this whole new role but he was made for a first-leading male role. His acting was amazing, every time he smiled I felt a little ping in my heart and every time he cried I bawled. I adore male leads like this and it was really nice to see Jaewook in this new light. I really hope to see him in another first-leading male role soon.
Story - Let's start with the good things. The plotline up until about episode 13 was AMAZING, it was a 10-star rating plotline for me. Every single character was written perfectly. Dr Cha kind of creeped me out at the start and I did have the suspicion that he was Do Do Sol Sol La Sol but as the story went on, he grew on me. The salon ladies were so cute and the teenager's crush story was fun to watch. The relationship between Jun and Ra Ra, I don't think I can ever stop talking about it. His love for Ra Ra and the way he could never say no to her was so special, it was really unlike anything I've seen before. The love he felt for Ra Ra was genuine and when the discovery of who Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol happened, it made my heart flutter. Knowing he fell in love with her from first sight and not 'love' but actual love that he felt so worried for her and wanted to keep in touch with her was so precious and romantic. They were really soulmates.
BUT then everything went downhill when the writer decided to switch it up from such a bubbly, cute innocent love story to melodrama. It felt like the writer had changed completely. Jun's character changed completely, he lied about going to the US but actually had blood cancer??? why would you not tell your loved one that AND then his mum came and liked to everyone saying he had died?? I can't tell you how much I cried just to see him come back 5 YEARS LATER and pop up in front of Ra Ra acting as if nothing happened. I understand he didn't want her to see him ill but she thought you were dead!!! for 5 years!! I absolutely despise long time jumps and this one was just stupid. However, the ending was nice to see. Her playing the piano as she used to when she welcomed Jun home for him to run in like he used to do. If only they didn't add that stupid 5 year time jump and overused illness story, this drama would've been 10/10.
However, I can't lie and say I didn't enjoy it. I managed to finish this in 2 days and I would recommend to my friends as long as they beware of the sudden plot change.

Loving someone sometimes taboo
Except final episode whole drama story was nicely putted . As an Asian this types of situation mostly faces in asian countries rather than europe or other western countries . In here we are stuck with social cultural obstacles that a younger boy can't love or like older girl/ women . Even an older women / girl can't feel or think about younger boy . It is predetermined by society & taboo ! This drama focuses on that issue . I like this part because everyone every aged people rights to love anyone if S/he cares & respect whom s/he is loving . The final episode really disappointing a dead man how come after 5/6 years later !! The writer was either drunken or being fool on that time .. looks like having no common sense . The writer can made the story ML come back after curing disease why made him die ..And why dead man come again .. whatever ! The catchy part of this drama as said earlier in my title loving someone still taboo in society either you show how much respect & love ....nothing can be granted in this society if that person come forward to solve the situation ..In most of cases, in this type of situation pure love rejected because of age issues ..Was this review helpful to you?

Review Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol
So overall I think it was a very sweet and wholesome drama but I was very confused at the end. Like okay, they wanted to make a plottwist, but I think it‘s very confusing.I liked this drama very much and I heard a lot of people hating on it and honestly i dont think it deserves hate. But it wasn‘t the best drama.
The part where „he was dead“ confused me it was so random..
But I think if i wouldn‘t have 382139499320 dramas to watch i would rewatch it sometime.
And i would still recommend it

The negative: the plot twist was not very good. Our big reveal in the middle of the series led to nowhere. The threw in another monumental event that altered the whole happy, sweet vibe. After that the manipulated the viewers emotionally and then changed their minds. The ending ruined the entire this. There were some loop wholes. We never find out what happened to finances. Things were just left unresolved.

Has the feels in spades but...
I started watching Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol as a stop gap in-between Start-Up episodes. Wanted something light hearted to recover from a particular episode. DDSSLLS looked lighthearted and Go Ara's beaming smile was inviting.Overall this was a delightful series. The love story is charming and the plot intricate enough to keep the pace entertaining and enough twists and turns to keep you on your toes from time to time.
The OST is lovely too with lots of classical music as well as an song by Minnie and Miyeon from (G)I-DLE (the other reason why I started watching this) and a song by the incredible Sondia which blew me away (and made me cry).
All in all, everything is going well except... I'm going to leave you to experience it for yourself. Maybe I was naive and missed something. It's a easy watch, all the characters are lovely - just don't take it too seriously.

This is a really cute and entertaining drama which was a breath of fresh air for me after watching a bunch of dark dramatic dramas. Piano is one of my passions, so when I heard that this drama would be about a pianist, I was very excited. The two main leads had a good balance of development and personality with Ra Ra being a cheerful, joyful, weird but lovable girl that lost everything and had her world fall apart and Jun being a guy that appears cold but has a very warm heart and is a hopeless romantic that harbors the secret that he is a runaway high school student that is rebelling from his parents. I was worried in the beginning that Jun would just be Ra Ra's superhero and his only purpose would to be there for Ra Ra and nothing more, but he got his own individual spotlight, personality, and backstory. I really enjoyed the actors and they really had a lot of chemistry together. I had just watched Lee Jae Wook in Extraordinary You and I hated his character (not the actor) quite a lot as he managed to make him very unlikeable, so I wasn't sure if he would have a likeable character, but omg I was wrong. I loved his character and his smile just made my heart melt. His character is SO ROMANTIC and sweet even though he tries to appear like he hates everything. When it was revealed how they really first met, how he liked her from their first encounter, and how he was do do sol sol la la sol, everything made sense as to why he was helping her so much. I kind of wish that his reason to run away was more sympathetic or sad rather than his friend died and his parents are being insensitive about it. Maybe I'm just a terrible person, but that doesn't seem like a powerful reason to rebel. Go Ara was also a very great actress and pulled off her character very well. I was almost dying of secondhand embarrassment from the way she was shamelessly seeking Jun's help in the first few episodes, but Jun seemed happy with it and she is a very lovable character that it quickly went away. The supporting actors were also really great and I loved the little squad that grew very close within the drama. I love everything except for the ending. WHAT KIND OF JERK ACTS DEAD FOR FIVE YEARS AND THEN SUDDENLY COMES BACK TO THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE LIKE "SURPRISE! I DIDN'T ACTUALLY DIE!"????!!!!?!?!?! I love Jun so much but OMG if the writers didn't want him to die then they shouldn't have staged his death in the first place. Leave the resurrections of the dead to the dramatic dramas like Penthouse, and leave the cute and lighthearted ones alone please. If you're dead then you're dead. The "oh I'm actually terminally ill so I'm going to cruelly break up with you so you don't suffer with me" plot line was not the best, very reused, and really just a filler for the rest of the episodes, but it was acceptable. However the last 3 minutes really made me mad and it was really predictable. I wasn't sad when they all though he died bc I knew that he wasn't actually dead. It's a lot like the endings of Abyss and Hotel Del Luna where the main characters, Cha Min and Man Wol both die or fade away and then magically come back for unexplainable reasons just so they can have the Happily Ever After. They couldn't have come up with anything better? Ra Ra can live by herself or marry Cha Eun Seok or start a family or smth. Please make the ending make sense even if that means sacrificing the happily ever after. This is exactly why I think that the last episode of most dramas is quite boring or much worse than the rest of the drama since it's usually just fluff or happily ever afters or cliche unwanted plot twists to help the drama meet the 16 episode mark.
So to sum it up: I love the actors, characters, chemistry between the leads, story and plot line up until the last few episodes where everything falls apart.

It could be great but the 'Ending' makes it an average drama!!!
Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol

had lots of potential
overall the series was really good. every episode was enjoyable and really cute. The chemistry was good but I have seen better, i’m not saying it was terrible but it didn’t completely click for me. the ajummas really carried the show and made the comedy funny. The acting and the cast members were perfect for the show. everything was going pretty well up until the last 2 episodes. personally I think the ML should have stayed dead it would have made this show more memorable, and emotional. it didn’t make sense why he would come back after five years. Was this review helpful to you?
