Mr. Queen Episode 20 Reactions
My feelings after the finale of this wonderful journey are mixed.
On one hand, I am very satisfied that Cheoljong could fulfil his lifelong dream and become a King of the people—a loved and respected leader. He also introduced a new system for how rulers are chosen, marking the first steps towards democracy and entirely changing how the history books described him.
However, on the other hand, even though it's kind of a happy ending, it still leaves a very bittersweet feeling. Throughout the show, I loved following how Cheoljong fell in love with the chaotic, unpredictable version of So-yong—not her looks, but her personality! We also saw how this relationship with the King changed Bonghwan. I wouldn’t be lying if I said I think he actually loved him… maybe he wouldn’t have if he were in his own male body, who knows, but he was genuinely ready to accept staying in So-yong's body for the rest of his life. And that’s what makes me feel bitter.
We followed the growth of their bond, only for it to be cut just like that. Now, they both must live their lives missing something—Cheoljong misses something he cannot really explain or put a name to, yet he feels the void, while Bonghwan misses an actual person he will remember for the rest of his life. And he might not even have a place to go and mourn him… When I think about it that way, it actually makes me extremely sad, not just bitter.
But anyway, despite the bittersweet ending, I can still easily place this drama among my all-time favourites.

Starts out as a laugh and awkward story but as it goes on, you start to truly root for the main characters and love the people around them. It really builds up over the season. Not perfect score bc the ending isn't as satisfying. Kind of wish it was different.

It's only happy ending for the king and queen while Bong Hwan has to act like yeah I am cool not meeting any of those people again, at least I was hoping that the king would really notice that it's the og queen that is back and reference was given to this when Bong Hwan asked that guy that was in love with the og queen why he didn't notice that she was a different person. Now the king is doing the same thing

It completely disregards Cheoljong’s love for bong hwan’s version of So Yong. The ending also felt too rushed and basically made the last 19 eps of Cheoljong growing to love Bong Hwan’s personality completely insignificant. Like wtf? Cheoljong fell in love with Bong Hwan and Bong Hwan also fell in love with Cheoljong but then Bong Hwan goes back and is just supposed to accept that he’ll never see Cheoljong again? What the heck? They should’ve just wrote that Bong-hwan is the reincarnation of So-yong in her next life or something!

I definitely believe this is one of the best ASIAN dramas ever made. Not just Korean. I mostly watch C dramas and I generally don't watch K dramas, but wow! This one is an absolute gem. The cast is spectacular! Every single one of them, not limited to the ML, lady Choi, the chef, the maid, the queen Dowager and especially the guy who played Kim Hwan. They were fantastic!!However, the main person that carries this entire drama is the FL. She is an absolute joy to watch on screen. She rightfully steals every scene she's in. She genuinely lived and breathed this role. The chemistry between the leads is also a treat to watch. The OST just fits. Every tone, every song that was picked just made each moment that much more hilarious, wonderful and emotional.I won't say it's a perfect drama. There are only a handful that have gotten that title and this does have its flaws, but it comes so close to that title. For one, i think the issue arises when they tried to make the tone very serious and into a high political drama near the end few episodes. It doesn't mesh wholly with the charming tone that the world has setup until now. I can see what they were going for, but it seriously needs a few tweaks. Also, the ending. I think I'll forever be conflicted and upset over how this ended. It was so bittersweet.Even though I loathed how it ended (and I can understand the reasoning behind it but it still hurts), I would still recommend this drama in a heartbeat to anyone, especially for people who think asian dramas, and k dramas in general are nothing but slow burn regurgitated romances with different casts. The sheer creativity and just the overall fun tone in the entire drama makes you realise that the people who worked in this really put their heart into making it. For that alone, it's worth a watch.

It's really not that bad to be rated the lowest episode in the whole drama. It was a good ending and as expected things had to go back to how they were. It may not be something dramatic or exceptional but it was a good wrap to everything. The highlight was the love between the Queen and the King . I am rating it 10 because I wasn't disappointed.

the show is a 10/10 but the ending is textbook queerbaiting. they should've sticked with the original cdrama ending where the guy inside the queen lives as a woman with the king. i feel like the kdrama adding soyong as a character is just a way for them to have a straight romance in what was a queer romance story, which made her character feel empty and underdeveloped. the ending where soyong and cheoljong lived happily ever after, while bonghwan continues his life in the present as if nothing happened feels disconnected from sobong and cheoljong's relationship development from the past 19 episodes. the way the drama transported bonghwan back to the present without giving him the chance to say goodbye to cheoljong, their baby, the court maids, or any of their other friends screams tragedy, but the drama chose not to acknowledge that. the ending also felt rushed and the supposed 'happy ending' ended up feeling superficial and empty. if i were to rewatch this show i'd probably just skip the last episode.

I didnt like the endings may be cxe i am part of LGBTQ it hurts me a little too much cxe the way they portrays the character of MR and whole Queen switching at last minute.. it doesn't make senses. It was Mr baby and Mr was love with King but they portrays as if there was never love story of them . King never liked queen before He meet Mr inside King body .I am not satisfy with ending they end like this might be cxe korea is homophobic if they show at last Mr being inside body it might cause problematic. I dont know . I like everything about others things . Not the ending . I teared a little Mr deserve better and King with baby

Personal Warning - if you are homophobic, this drama is not for you. It's for the people who are open to many possibilities in life and accepts everything with their open heart. After watching The King Eternal Monarch, my standard for K dramas had been set high, and was wondering when a good drama like that would come along to meet the standards. Lo and behold! came this drama Mr. Queen. Before watching this drama, I read the synopsis and I was skeptic at first to begin watching it. But I took to it and started watching. I cannot say this is a perfect drama, like every other thing it has its own loopholes but nonetheless I thoroughly enjoyed it.This drama stirs all human emotions in you, there's comedy to make you laugh, especially I enjoyed the humor brought on by Court Lady Choi. And also the King's "oh-oh" moments had me laughing tearfully, and found it cute too. the FL's character of a man in a woman's body was quite interesting and she nailed the character to the T. Don't we women have wild side to us, we cannot suppress it just because of the stereotypical description of women being graceful and well mannered. The romantic moments between the FL and the ML immensely warms your heart.
