An incredible journey that stays on your mind

The drama starts off quite lightly; it is fast-paced and has a very entertaining action-comedy kind of vibe. However, after a few episodes, it becomes slower, more serious, darker, suspenseful, and mysterious—keeping that tone for the better part of the remaining story. But there is nothing to fear, because, oh, what an incredible journey and an emotional rollercoaster it is! ✨

Ding Yuxi and Zhang Xincheng play their roles brilliantly. This was the first time I had seen Xincheng on my screen, and I was really impressed by his acting. However, Yuxi showed sides of his talent I hadn't seen before in any of his other works. His performance took my breath away and made me sit on the edge of my seat for the better half of the story. The main characters don't have any romance, if anyone is looking for that, but they do share a brotherly love, and that love is one of a kind. I was incredibly invested in both of their characters and still can't get them out of my head or move on. This is how big of an impact this drama—especially Yuxi and Xincheng's characters—left on me. 🥺❤️

I would highly recommend this to anyone. Even though it had a few flaws, just like any other drama, it is still a complete 10/10 from me. 🌟🏆

Good drama with some incomplete/rushed plotlines

I really liked this show. The story was engaging, interesting, dynamic and dramatic enough to make me keep watching. The actors did an amazing job portraying their characters and the chemistry between our leads was out of this world. The OST only intensified the shows fairytale-like and dreamy aesthetic and atmosphere. I particularly loved that I could laugh, cry, and swear with (or at!) the characters, and I even managed to spin a few theories here and there. 😉🤗

However, after the very promising beginning, later in the show some parts started to feel incomplete or rushed, leaving me "partly-fed" in the end. Sometimes I had a feeling that some of the characters were missing important backstory pieces to explain why they were the way they were and why they made the choices they did. Maybe it could have been fixed if the show was longer, but any other way, a very entertaining and lovely journey! 🫰

Chaotic plot with an enjoyable love story

The premise of this story is what lured me in, along with one of the main cast members being Liu Runming. I entered with some expectations, but not many, since I had never actually watched a standard short-length drama. And I am quite relieved about that, as otherwise I would have been disappointed.

I think this show was more about the romance than the other parts, because it focused on the relationship of our leads the most. But the rest was so left in the background that at the moments anything else took over, it was chaotic, often lacking any logic or plausibility—and not just for the plot, but also the characters. Very often it felt like a lot was resolved or changed off-screen, leaving me guessing what was what. But either way, I still kept watching right until the end, and overall, I even kind of enjoyed this drama.

However, when it comes to a recommendation, I would rather abstain, because this heavily depends on the viewer, their preferences, and their standards for what they think is enjoyable and entertaining. I watched this, I liked it, and I hope if someone chooses to watch it, they won't be disappointed and will have fun with this chaos, the same as I did! ❤️

A spoiler-free review of Romance of a Twin Flower

Overall, the story is interesting enough to keep you watching, though it isn't always delivered perfectly. 🤨 At times, the plot lacked logic or felt slightly incomplete. The visuals lean more toward those of a lower-budget drama, but they were sufficient for my taste and didn't detract from the experience. While some of the supporting performances felt unconvincing or weak, I actually grew to love the music and the atmosphere of the show quite a bit! 🤗

Ultimately, my main—and honestly only—reason for watching was Ding Yuxi (the male lead). As always, he absolutely shone in his role and made the entire journey worth it! 🌟👏❤️

Note: I tried to give a fair rating for acting, but my heart didn't allow to give it lower because of Ding Yuxi.

An entertaining watch if you liked LGIEF and the main cast

A quite entertaining show for the Love Game in Eastern Fantasy main cast. They have to do many different tasks to prove they are a good team. The show includes funny, serious, touching, and scary moments. If you want to see Ding Yuxi, Esther Yu, Yang Shize, and Zhu Xudan singing, doing some labour, and solving riddles in a mixture of their real selves and their roles in LGIEF, this will be a really fun watch! ❤️
