Wang Ming Yun, the 11th-ranked swordsman, seeks out Wu Liu Ding so they can both kill Feng Nian before he leaves Qingzhou. Feng Nian gives Lu Qian Tang the opportunity to leave, along with the Lin family, but he chooses to keep his word and defend Feng Nian with his life. Li Chun Gang gives Feng Nian the option to leave and go back to Beiliang, but Feng Nian decides to stay as he doesn’t want to abandon his friends.
