Feng Nian makes a spectacle out of Liu Li Ting, but an assassin severely injures Feng Nian, forcing the Lu family to protect him in fear of being blamed for the assassination attempt. Eunuch Han gives Xu Xiao some advice, while Feng Nian devises a different plan to convince the capital that the Lu and Xu families are not colluding.
