It had so much potential, but...
I don't know what happened with this drama, it started SO good, introducing us more deeply not only to the main couple, but also to the firefighters, their life stories and family, making us laugh with them, cry, made us get attached to each of them and see their evolution since the first episode. even Lou Ming, a character I started hating, managed to make me like him over at a certain point in the drama.The main couple's relationship was wonderful at the beginning until a certain point in the drama, but from the moment she became famous I feel like it lost a LOT of fun to watch, things became monotonous, the two couldn't even see each other properly like before, interact like before, it seems that when it got around episode 30 things became the same, I confess that I watched the last 10 episodes in 2x velocity, They have great chemistry together, they are very cute, but unfortunately, I don't know how a great drama managed to become boring and repetitive in the final episodes.
about the end, it was left with an open interpretation, I myself, didn't interpret it as if he had died, but rather as if he just wasn't there, and rather sacrificing himself like a firefighter to save lifes while she was there, and that she understood it, BUUT still the ending was very open and incomplete, it could have been MUCH better.
Unfortunately a drama that I started rating as a 9/10, ended as a 7/10 to be generous.

lesson 1: never date a firefighter, even if he's sexy
BRUHHHHHH!!!! this drama was hella good but the last few episodes had me BAWLING. ugh i learned sm about firefighters and MY HEART BROOOOO. they sacrifice so much.... BUT FUCKING LIN LIUXIAO IS SOOOOO HOT. i love him so much. his arms. his firefighting. UGH. and ofc my girl zhang jingyi- i started watching this just for her. BROOOOOO LIKE i wish this drama wasn't realisitc and nobody died/got hurt and they could actually date in peace... but why was it so realistic like please ... i just want4ed cute moments.also , the main couple was rly cute ttogether but like WHERE WAS THE INITIATION??? like I wish the firefighting show went wayyyy longer so we could see exactly why and how they ended up getting together. i also wish there were more scenes of them flirting before they dated.... like that was only the first like 1/4 of the whole show--wouldve been much better if it spanned more throughout. ughhh their careers ugghhhh why does he have to be a firefighter.

Do not watch if you don't like open endings
I quite liked this, even if it was a bit dragged on.You might cry (I did), and it does have an open ending, up for enterpreting. I did Google it after finishing, and what some comments said made sense, but I won't reveal any more here.
This is kind of a typical role for the ML, and he does it well. Not exceptional, but better than "OK".
I liked the FL in some of the other roles I have seen her in, and this is also a bit similar character to some of her other ones. It is the same for her as for him: Good portrayal, but not "wow".
The story itself doesn't romanticize the depiction of the firefighter profession, but shows some of the struggles that comes with it, both for the firefighter and for those around.
I kind of wish they had kept the story a bit simpler at times - some added plots for tension/drama could have been avoided, in my opinion.
It does have some similarities to other dramas in the same genre (first responders/military).

Overall, a well executed drama
In my opinion, this series outperformed its predecessors featuring firefighters. It's unfortunate that it was released after a wave of similar-themed dramas.I found this drama highly enjoyable because it focused on the lives of the firefighters and their families, depicting the challenges they face. It included both uplifting moments and incredibly heart-wrenching scenes, including my interpretation of the conclusion for the main characters.
The romantic aspect was well-executed, offering profound and realistic insights into the lives and relationships of the firefighters. Additionally, the fire safety tips provided were valuable. The entire cast, including the leads and supporting actors, delivered impressive performances.
Overall, it was a well-crafted drama.
Truly, this show deserves a higher rating!

I really enjoyed this drama. I first started off because of Wang Zi Qi and I ended up loving Johnny. Yes my first Johnny Huang drama. I felt that this drama is a little more to reality - some parts maybe a little over exaggerated (I'm not sure, like no leaves at all for the fire fighters).What I love about this show is that they showed the city and forest fire fighting. Less love story which I enjoyed.
It does show the pain and struggles of the fire fighters and how they have each other's back.
I really love how Johnny carried the character too and all his brothers in the show.
People will definitely compare this drama with Yang Yang but I feel this is a little more realistic.
Give it a try its really worth it. Can just skip all the dance part >.<

Wasted my time and resource
Not because of the ending, celebrity and firefighter romance(-1)and in the comments saw a they separated in EP 34. Everything is compare to very lazy writing. This drama doesn't deserve more than 7-7.5 . Halfway i feel tired and thought how to speed up the watch, but it ended as failure."Fireworks of my heart "better than this compare to the story. The story needs a strong factor gives an aspiration to viewer for watch the each episodes, that aspiration is missing in my case in this drama. This type of story needs a well balanced structure, includes main protagonists relationship and other factors.

Has everything still feels empty.
It literally has everything, beautiful ML & FL, their romance, high quality cinematography, breakup, emotional stories of fire fighters and their issues, realistic firefighter calls etc still I didn’t feel anything....They had such a beautiful cast but it was totally wasted.The character doesn’t have much depth or backstory(even if they have it hasn’t been told properly) so its very difficult to connect with them, the leads are soo damn good but they don’t have chemistry with each other(despited having good kissing scenes), the story is all over the place and didn’t create any impact.
I personally hated the way they shot Nan Chu's dancing as it should appear graceful but it looked so plain and tasteless, nothing at all like a trained dancer should look.
I can see they they have invested alot in the drama but the propaganda is literally overflowing to the point that drowned the whole drama....At some point it feels like i am watching a documentary
The ending was a major let down again...

Gripping drama on firefighting with great romance story
I was drawn to this drama because of Zhang Jing Yi and firefighting storyline. I was surprised that this series is ranked lower than other mystery romance that I watched but had stale etoryline. Perhaps some viewers dislike the ending - I can accept the ending being left open to interpretation because otherwise a happily ever after would seem at odds with the overall vibe of this gritty, slice of life drama.What I like:
1) Firefighting - Wow, great firefighting scenarios featured in this series, from simple straightforward fire in a building to the more complex ones e.g. forest fires and explosion at a plant. There was even disaster relieft effort after an earthquake scenario. I also like that one of the characters is a structural engineer as I never thought firefighting could be a career pathway for structural engineering student. I also enjoyed the fire safety tips at the end of each episode.
2) Lin Lu Xiao characterisation - Lin Lu Xiao is a level-headed leader and even at a higher position, he strives to improve himself as a firefighter. Lu Xiao as a boyfriend is fun to watch too. Bright eyes in the dark is the first series of Johnny Huang's work that I watched and I enjoyed his performance.
3) Nan Chu characterisation - It's delightful to see a smart and capable Female Lead who pursues her passions and the man she is interested in. She is wise beyong her age and no wonder Lu Xiao and Jing Ge were attracted to her. I like that she considers the pros and cons of being in a relationship with a firefighter because then it isn't hero worship.
This is the second series of Zhang Jing Yi's work that I watched (first series being Lighter and Princess) and I must admit that Zhang Jing Yi continues to impress me with her performance.
4) Romance - The romantic scenes were sweet and intimate. I love that Nan Chu and Lin Lu Xiao kiss, hug, hold hands and comfort each other a lot. I love that Nan Chu initiated most kisses - you go girl! It's also good to watch scenes of fading romance as portrayed by Qi Lei and Milan. Painful but that's the reality of relationships that are not frequently nurtured.
5) Supporting characters - They were fun to watch from firemen Instructor Yang, Assistant Liu, Qi Lei to people in the industry such as Jing Ge, Xi Gu, Shen Guang Zong. Kudos to Lu Si Yu for that brilliant acting performance. I felt his character's heartache and pain.
6) Camaraderie - Strongly seen in firefighting community. There were some comedic moments when all firemen gang up against one for example when they found out that Lin Lu Xiao was going on a date!
What I dislike:
1) Nan Chu's mum - I don't like that she was distant to her child and even lied about Nan Chu's father. Nan Chu's reaction was milder than what I expected. Perhaps the tv series is just following the novel that is based upon.
2) Ran Dong Yang and Xu Zhi Yi - They are despicable people. Glad that they got punished in the end.
3) Qi Huo's secret - Fang should apologise for outing Qi Huo.
Favourite scene:
Xi Gu's present for Nan Chu at their new apartment. I gush a lot during that scene. Xi Gu's a total bestie!

Series all about the glory of firefighters, enhanced by a lovely romance.
PLOT: fairly classical romance between a firefighter ML and a dancer FL, whom he saved 5 years earlier. The series follows the evolution, the life of a team of firefighters, with all the cases and possible intervention issues. The prevention measures are very detailed (clip at the end of each episode).But :
+ the story is remarkably well written, with deep themes (family pressure, suicide, disability, mourning, etc.) and a good psychological analysis. All of these themes are treated with finesse, sensitivity and a lot of humanity.
+ There are a lot of hard times (they work in the firefighters world) but solidarity, team spirit, brotherhood, are well highlighted.
+ The CL brings a little sweetness to the story. Their interactions are natural, mature, and it feels good!
+ The CGI is exceptional: you have the impression of being at the heart of the action.
However :
- The shortcomings of the health system are obvious: little support for serious illnesses, no measures (prosthesis arrives very late :( ) in the event of disability...
- some coincidences are very "dramaland": the FL in possession of her mother's diary, when the ML reads the FL father's diary???
- the means deployed in the forest fires seem a little paltry: China doesn't have canadairs? They even developed the largest water bomber in the world!!
- the Ending is a little too enigmatic for me, I would have preferred a more obvious Happy End.
Johnny Huang has recently done a lot of action series (policeman, firefighter, etc.), I would like to see him again in something more "calm" :)

PLOT: romance assez classique entre un ML pompier et une FL danseuse, qu'il a sauvé 5 ans plus tôt. La série suit l'évolution, la vie d'une équipe de pompiers, avec tous les cas et problèmes possibles d'interventions. Les mesures de prévention sont très détaillées (clip à la fin de chaque épisode).
Mais :
+ la story est remarquablement bien écrite, avec des thèmes profonds (pression familiale, suicide, handicap, deuil, etc.) et une bonne analyse psychologique. Tous ces thèmes sont traités avec finesse, sensibilité et beaucoup d'humanité.
+ Il y a beaucoup de moments durs (on évolue chez les pompiers) mais la solidarité, l'esprit d'équipe, la fraternité, sont bien mises en valeur.
+ Le CL apporte un peu de douceur dans l'histoire. Leurs interactions sont naturelles, matures, et ça fait du bien !
+ Les CGI sont exceptionnelles : on a l'impression d'être au coeur de l'action.
Cependant :
- Les lacunes du système de santé sont évidentes : peu de prise en charge pour les maladies graves, aucune mesure (prothèse arrive très tard :( ) en cas de handicap...
- quelques coïncidences font très "dramaland" : la FL en possession du journal intime de sa mère, quand le ML lit le journal de son père ???
- les moyens déployés dans les feux de forêt semblent un peu dérisoires : la Chine n'a pas de canadairs ? Elle a même mis au point le plus gros bombardier d'eau au monde !!
- la Ending est un peu trop énigmatique pour moi, j'aurai préféré une Happy End plus évidente.
=> Série toute à la gloire des pompiers, agrémentée par une jolie romance.
Johnny Huang a fait dernièrement beaucoup de séries d'action (policier, pompier, etc.), j'aimerai bien le revoir dans quelque chose de plus "calme" :)

I don't understand the logic in this drama
the beginning of the drama, the beginning of the FL and ML meeting is very dramatic, I like how it uses a natural way
but I had to stop watching this drama when the story didn't make sense after I watched 15 episodes. I don't understand why you have to bring ordinary people when you are at a dangerous fire scene?
WHY???
this doesn't make sense, especially since they are untrained people. The scene that shows the firefighter laughing because the female character said something funny after the fire was put out, I immediately slammed my cellphone because I couldn't tolerate this anymore.
ENOUGH! I can't stand watching this drama anymore!
The storyline is too forced and I don't like Zhang Jingyi's acting in this drama, even though I was waiting for it because I had watched her previous drama. The expression on his face is like there is no emotion or change, I regret that.
ML's acting is good, but that's all.
Overall, I don't understand why this drama has a script that doesn't relate at all.

This could be a lot better...
When I waited for this drama to air, I was really full of anticipation as it has a great casting, and the story line seems to be interesting. What I really didn't appreciate about this drama is how it felt like a documentary and in all honestly it really focused on the life and practices of the firefighters and not the romance/drama itself. If I can delete every filler scene in this drama, the drama would only be 5 episodes max with only the main leads. Another thing I didn't like is how the build-up of their relationship was, as it felt like it was rushed and not very dynamic conversation between the main leads, it only become interesting because of the good acting and the chemistry of both main leads.With that aside, ZJY is one of my favorite stars in the moment and her acting is incredible in this drama but because of a poor story line and script it was really sad to see one of her dramas in a low rating in this site. JH is also a really good choice for these kinds of drama, and in all the dramas about firefighters that was released this year JH is one of the actors that showed a very natural manly vibe and suited the role.
In terms of the ending, I really did feel that he will die at the end as he always stated that his life belongs to the country as it foreshadowed the ending already.
