Cats, books and love. A True Hidden Gem!
So I might be a little biased in this review because this drama contained two of my biggest loves in life, cats and books! Still this is a drama that after a decade on MDL has prompted me to write my first review! This drama is really a hidden gem that I don't think got enough attention. I literally only heard of this drama through a youtube comment. So here are my thoughts on why you should definitely watch it!Story:
The plot of the drama is really interesting, a cat from another dimension goes to the human world gets stuck and not only finds love but builds strong friendships all whilst protecting the helpless. Fantasy dramas have plot holes we are used to as viewers and this one is no exception. There were times I raised my eyebrows or questioned how certain things happened. But they were so minor it didn't affect the story at all. In most dramas either the plot, acting or the script is what will make you fall in love with it. In this drama - it is the script. The dialogues between the characters are what make this drama shine. Main leads who actually have real deep and meaningful conversations- who discuss their feelings with each other?? Almost unheard of in dramaland right? But the writer really managed to encapsulate what a HEALTHY loving relationship would look like. If you are tired of toxic relationships that glorify abuse- this is the drama for you.
There is enough of a main plot, side plots and arcs to keep you entertained throughout which is usually really hard in Cdramas that tend to have 5-8 episodes too many. This drama doesn't suffer from lack of plot or script, but it does drag in certain places. However overall I FFwd very little in comparison to what I normally do in Cdramas.
Acting:
The ML is a little distant at first, but by no means cold. You can tell from the get go he is warm hearted and gentle but the world has beaten him up enough that he hides himself and his heart. Ren You really brings this balance of being distant but soft to life. He is so natural on screen you wonder if this is him in real life. But the star of the show is the FL, Gia Ge. This is the first drama I have seen of her and not only is she freaking gorgeous she was amazing in her role. This could have so easily been a role where the FL could be OOT cute and annoying, making viewers wonder how she can even function. But not only was she cute, she was elegant, she was brave and she made me believe many times that maybe she is a cat. Her emotional scenes were stellar and her comedic/cute scenes never failed to make me smile (esp the giggle she would do when she did something naughty). Together the main couple are such wonderful compliments to each other, you really can't imagine them with anyone else. And the way they hug and hold each other...you can feel the chemistry oozing from the screen. This is the first drama where I felt so much love through hugs rather than just kisses.
The secondary characters also acted well. Although the best friend was a real creep at the start, the writer turns his character around completely and you start to like him as well. The 2CP of this show were cute but they were given far too much screen time for my liking. They could almost produce their own drama which is where this drama dropped from a 9 to an 8.5. The 2CP scenes were the ones I found dragging, and the editing a little off. It really doesn't detract from the show much but personally I would have really preferred more scenes with the main leads as they were the stars of the show.
Music:
Pretty forgettable. There wasn't much to the OST and I can't even recall even listening to the songs in the drama.
Things I didn't like **MINOR SPOILERS**:
- The second couple getting almost as much screen time in the second half of the drama.
- The last 2-3 episodes were a bit lame due to the terrible acting by the bad guy.
- Not enough time spent on the main couple in the last few episodes.
Rewatch Value:
High, because it's so cute but interesting and you would want to see the FL play the role of a cat-human again. The romance is great and you really feel connected to the main leads. Plus Cats! Books!
Overall:
If you like books, cats, a great script, genuine acting and an actual HEALTHY relationship than this is the drama for you. It will put a smile on your face, make you feel good and hug your little furry companion.

Very very good, sweet and recommended
Really good, the story is simple but not boring at all, sweet, and the conflict is light. Every time I watch this series, it's always in a good mood haha.The OST is really good, I really like the opening (and I didn't think it was the two of them singing ><)
The actors/actresses are both rookies but the quality of their acting is top, very natural and it feels like that's their real character. Their chemistry is really good, it's great, hahahaha.
The small details make everything feel complete, even their acting doesn't feel like acting. You know what I mean hahaha
After watching this drama, I really like ren you lun and gia ge. I'm so lucky I saw a review of this drama on Instagram.
Really recommended to you guys, I'm sure you will like the actor and it will be hard to move on, happy watching ^^

Amazing drama as suggested.
This is amazing drama to watch. When I watched the first ep I was afraid if it's gonna be cringy because of the cat & human love story but I really felt in love with this drama from last minutes of the first episode and found it to be non cringy and a perfect drama. The plot of the story is amazing and about the roles , wow the actors and actresses are really amazing here. This drama is going to be on my most favourite drama list for sure.I've finished watching this drama and planning to re-watch it because it's really amazing.
You should give it a try.

It was imaginary but felt real.
It flowed beautifully. A really interesting story. It was at the height of its creativity because of everyone's acting. I think the fact that the lead actress really looks like a cat has doubled the story's interestingness. Of course this is my first Chinese story I saw at first. Having a taste like this makes me more interested in Chinese stories.Having a smaller number of episodes than the others also helped my continued enjoyment. I finished watching this in two days. It's so cool drama. Love it. I enjoyed it with all my heart. Thank you so much❤️

CUTEE!
This is one of the best Chinese dramas I have ever watched. I am not saying this lightly. The storyline is fantastical and silly, but it manages to tackle serious and heartwarming subjects. The chemistry between the leads is simply amazing. This is a warm and fluffy drama that puts work into developing the story and intimate interactions between leads. PLEASE WATCH IT! (you might find the female lead a little annoying at the beginning, but please keep watching, I promise it gets better. An Easy-to-watch and Heart Flattering Series~!
Let me start my review by giving out praises to the Main Leads! They acted so well and embodied their characters to the greatest heights. I have nothing but admiration and praises to both of them.Something I like about this series is how comfortable it is to watch and how cute the story is. + The fact that the Main Leads acted their way out to excellence in this drama and made it more eye-candy to me.
One thing that made me quite bored!? and restless about this drama is it's pacing and some of it's plot twist. Well this issues are being used in almost every drama so I guess it was highlighted in this story simply because the drama seemed too peaceful to me for almost 90% of it's entirety nonetheless everything is Good aside from the cringy scenes from the 2nd Couple. Hahaha!
Story - 9.0, Story is good and is focused in 1 Major Issue to resolve; it's just that it was dragged till the very end that it felt quite boring at some point. They could've resolve it an episode or two early then give us a Wedding Scene or so.
Acting/Cast - 10, This is Mainly for the Main Leads performances. Gia acted her life here, she's definitely a Cat in this drama. There's no faults in her acting. God!! I love her and she resembles Yamamoto Ayaka from NMB48 a lot and that made me love her so much more. Male Lead is Good too, you can see and feel their dedication and focused with their character portrayal.
Music - 10, Music are pleasing to ear and I'm listening to them on repeat using spotify. Perfect choice of Music!
Rewatch Value - 9.0, Watching this once is Enough and will probably remain memorable to me. Something I would recommend to people looking for peaceful and cute drama who love Cats.
Overall - 9.5, Deserved!! I didn't give it a perfect mark due to some Plot/Story issues mentioned above but it's definitely a worth to watch Series.

They chose a very good actors and actress to portray the characters...
Never expected that I would love this drama. tbh, the casts are not well known to others, especially me who watched a lot of cdramas. BUT, their acting is SUPERB. Gia Ge gave really give the idea that she's literally a cat. The story is well written. Their chemistry never failed me. They look so cute. The script really gave the idea of what will happen if a cat becomes a human. I never had a cat before but I watch a lot on the internet how cats act. Gia Ge really showed how the cats act.The casts may not be as popular as others, but I like the way they act tbh, they are not cringe at all, especially when the fl portrays a cat. You Lun's acts like natural, some of ml gave something off vibe when acting cold or standoffish. He is suited to this character.
Also, their voices as well. It doesn't gave like having a cold (I prefer their natural voices, not the VA one, they look sick)

never in a million years did i imagine myself simping for a cat girl
after watching this and ding yuxi's han shuo from romance of tiger and rose, i am realizing that i am not immune to the charms of idol types............ge xinyi's xiao xiu is literally the cutest girl i've ever seen and her as a cat! so good!!!! i imagined it would be some kind of cringe baby nyannyan shit but she just like,,, had the personality of what an actual cat might have??? and acted it so well down to all the details, really great physical acting, and her line delivery was so natural and realistic..... i love her im obsessed!!!!!!! i was so scared that she would be baby and annoying and overly dependent on chi yan for everything but i srlsy am so thankful that she had her own thing, made friends on her own, got a job, and was moreso curious and excitable abt exploring the human world- the independence and ability to take care of herself all felt like cared for decisions in making a real character and not a thing or idea of a cutesy cat.
ren youlun's chi yan was also quite good and very natural feeling, he didn't feel like...the drama version of an antisocial loner, but like, a real guy who is just like that. i liked also that he didn't have like, idol type good looks, and was just very plain, but the more i watched him the more fond of him i felt. his character growth is genuinely quite nice to see, it feels so relaxing to have him become a much more open and caring person. their relationship is adorable and sweet, they are just good to each other and good for each other which is somehow a rarity in c drama rom coms!!!!
the story itself is whatever tbh, i mean i have literally the lowest of expectations when the plot is my girlfriend is a cat alien, but it met all of them. main leads are written to at least feel natural, real and respectable enough, no crazy motivations out of left field, no wild problematics, just genuinely sweet and supportive relationship. it's really the parts outside of it that start not making sense. there's plenty of plot and logic holes in the fantasy they made but im just choosing to ignore it because i can. the amnesia plot towards the end is kinda annoying but honestly wasnt as bad as i thought it would be, it felt more natural as a progression, though i would have preferred a different way of solving it- which tbh would've meant xiao xiu actually returning to cat planet for a time (and then lin mo wouldnt have to disappear for the last quarter and we could've progressed the cat smuggling plot instead of having everyone re-meet each other and re-get together) but there's no way that they would ever have the budget to hire an animator to depict any more scenes on cat planet lmfao.
the secondary characters are p meh and lin mo is especially poorly written and purely for plot purposes of needing villain he has absolutely shit for brains common sense and somehow is delusional for 10 years out of grief. actual villain idgaf that hes poorly written because im not expecting anythin more out of him. the secondary couple im also not a fan of, though i like qin mingming quite a bit and i actually really like her friendship w chi yan. xu zihao is unbearable in the first half of the drama and im genuinely just not sold on his and mingming's relationship working out but whatever.
all in all, i had a really great time watching this sweet and wholesome drama! i realize the script writer is the same writer as rational life which is my fav modern c drama so i look forward to her future projects, as well as to both lead actors but especially ge xinyi!

Light Story with Super Natural Acting
All of the casts have a good acting skill. But the leads really bring the drama to the next level.The FL has the ability to show a detailed character as a 'human cat' that even though you watched it briefly without knowing the back story, you'll know she is a cat. The man is so natural as I haven't seen any of his work before, I thought this character matched his real life personality.
The writing is good. The pace also good as I like slow burning romance story. The cinematography is excellent.
Above all, I don't think it would as good and enjoyable as this if the main leads have an average acting skills.

Cuando una actriz hace suyo un papel...
Me pareció un drama hermoso para que llego a mi en el momento justo cuando quería ver un amor lindo de ensueño después de tantas tramas crudas.Make a wish tomo un genero de fantasía muy complicado en el cual otras fallaron y por mucho (si, te hablo a vos meow, my secret boy) para transformarlo en una historia ligera en la cual muy pocas veces o casi en ningún momento se torna aburrida.
Los puntos fuertes sin duda fueron la linda química entre las 2 parejas principales y como se retrato y se desarrollo el distanciamiento con el mundo exterior del ML pero sin dudas lo que mas ame de este drama fue la FL (estoy enamorado de esta mujer) estuve investigando los papeles de esta chica y tiene muy pocos además de que el papel mas antiguo es del 2020 pero en este drama ella hizo suyo este papel, muy gran acierto de la producción por optar por esta chica porque lo clavo totalmente, no podría imaginarme otra persona haciendo este papel, sin dudas con este drama me convierto en su fan y espero verla en muchos mas proyectos.
En fin es un drama ligero con muy correctas/ perfectas actuaciones con una trama que no pretende ser mas de lo que es buscando tópicos de otros géneros para intentar ser "mas interesantes" sino que confía en su propia personalidad y nos regala un muy lindo drama de romance y fantasía.

Magia gatuna!! ?
Realmente me sorprendió para bien con este drama, usualmente los dramas de animal-humano se desploma en la segunda mitad del drama, pero no paso esto con "make a wish".Actuaciones: Gia Ge para ser una una actriz relativamente nueva, se lleva el drama su actuación es muy buena, si creés que es una gata que se transforma es un humano.(cuando estaba viendo el drama realmente sentí a un gato en un humano, ella es Muy bonita)
También si retrata bien a una persona inocente y torpe era muy adorable ( agradezco que no fue la típica FL insoportable) espero verla en un futuro en más proyectos.
Ren You Lun su actuación fue muy natural y bueno. Realmente me gusto el personaje de chi Yan. Las demás actuaciones también fueron bueno
La química fue natural, cute y esponjoso, me gusto su romance, sobre la pareja secundaria no tengo nada que decir fue bueno ( la mayoría de la veces no me gusta mucho la pareja secundaria)
La música es tuve ok para acompañar el momento están bien.
" El villano" (la verdad no se cómo llamarlo) era muy previsible.
Claro que la vería otra
La verdad si recomiendo este drama es un drama esponjoso, tierno, ligero y lleno de magia gatuna ?

Une petite perle de romantisme et d'humour pour ceux qui aiment les chats ?
J'avoue, j'aime les chats ! ???Mais malgré tout, j'ai du mal à comprendre pourquoi il y a tant de dramas (coréens, chinois) sur le concept Chat (terrien ou extraterrestre) => homme/femme. C'est totalement farfelu, mais très drôle...
Cette histoire Fantasy tient la route. Elle est cohérente et les évènements sont judicieusement amenés pour équilibrer le suspens, la romance, l'humour. Le rythme de la narration est rapide, on reste donc scotchés à son écran, dans un nuage de douceur et de sourires.
Ce n'est pas une série à message... N'en attendez pas un, c'est du pur divertissement !
Le plot est porté par de bons acteurs. TOUS, même les acteurs secondaires font un travail extraordinaire (le CL2 est aussi très cute). Le ML (Ren You Lun) est excellent, tant dans la partie cold-face que dans les moments émotionnels. Mais je veux souligner particulièrement la performance de Gia Ge (la FL), malicieuse, féline et voluptueuse au soleil (comme seuls les chats peuvent le faire :).
Les effets spéciaux, il y en a peu, mais ils sont de bonne qualité.
Rien de particulier concernant les OST, assez banales, mignonnes, un peu "mielleuses" comme on en écoute souvent dans les comédies romantiques.
Ce drama est assez court pour un drama chinois (24 épisodes) et on ne s'ennuie pas une seconde.
Si vous avez de douceur, n'hésitez pas !!
