cute ep, the coming out or rather the mother's ready acceptance while sweet was a bit unbelievable. being gay isn't a "death sentence" but there should be a pause - something to indicate the gravity of the situation, not only for the one who has to hear and accept, but for the one who was scared and dreading the reaction. but as only i seem to mind, guess never mind. also BL's Really need to stop with the trope of " i aint into men - it's just X.." yeah anyone in a relationship act's / tries to show how much they love their partner, so they make them out to be the "one and only one" think i would rather he had said "it's not men or women it's Otep..." subtle difference, but more realistic, let alone emphasizes how important Otep is to him.loved that the mother figured out in a blink, why Tau broke up with her son and encouraged him to reach out. but have to say the reminiscing let alone the devastation filled moments r starting to feel like filler. last ep almost, half way through till the end, Tau was sitting around weeping and remising about his happy/sad moments with Otep. this ep started off with Otep doing much of the same - let alone the repetitive scene's making me wanna fast-forward large bits. and i know the other character's r just tools to further the main's plot, or be filler but why make Ronin such a sad "whipping boy"?!? how he friends with this group when most of the time they bullying, making him the butt of the joke. he must be a masochist, cause he even hands them info smiling when getting insulted, from the start of this drama - why?!? this add to the drama - how?!?

Wow that was a twist.

I just have to say that i really love the cinematography of this series especially on this episode. The visuals are so damn good. And i love the twist here where all this time Otep went with the squad so he could see Taurus again.

In Between (2020) Episode 5: Magbalik

With In Between, I've learned to tolerate all the unnecessary fillers. There were a lot to like in Episode 5: Magbalik. Otep admitting to his mother Sandra that he "loved a person who is also a man," while not as powerful as Cairo admitting to his mother Leila that he's "gay," was still a beautiful scene. Sandra also said "Love is a complex thing. And we are allowed to love who we want to love." How I wish all mothers are like Leila and Sandra! Genesis' acting was also good in this episode. Of course, the kissing scene was one of the major highlights of this episode. I guess my only major issue with this episode was that it still subscribed to the usual boys' love (BL) internalized homophobia and queerness denial as exemplified by Tau's response to Nin when the latter said "I cannot believe that you actually like boys." To which Tau said, "Not exactly. It's just Otep. Otep is different." But overall, I still liked this episode and I'm excited to know more about Makisig who was shown during the post-credits.
