Former BIGBANG's T.O.P will not participate in Netflix's interview for Squid Game Season 2.

On December 20, Netflix announced that director Hwang Dong Hyuk and the cast members of the new season of Squid Game will be participating in an interview as part of the promotions. However, it got the attention that T.O.P who is part of the cast will not attend again for the promotion of the K-drama. 

With this, T.O.P's side has announced that the former BIGBANG member will be absent from the interview. This is not the first time that T.O.P. wasn't able to attend the promotions of Squid Game Season 2. He also did not participate in the production presentation held last December 9. 

Meanwhile, Squid Game Season 2 will be the grand return of T.O.P to acting. The last time T.O.P starred in a K-drama was in 2015 through the series The Secret Message

T.O.P. started his career as part of the K-pop boy group BIGBANG formed by YG Entertainment. In 2007, he also embarked on his acting career. He is known for being part of the works Iris, Tazza 2: The Hidden Card, Commitment, and more. 

The idol actor is now pursuing a solo career. He withdrew from BIGBANG in 2023. 

T.O.P will be working with Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Yim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Lee Jin Wook, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Kang Ae Shim, Lee Seo Hwan, Jo Yu Ri, Wi Ha Joon, Park Gyu Young, Won Ji An, David Lee, Noh Jae Won, and Gong Yoo in the upcoming new season of Squid Game. 

Squid Game Season 2 will reveal a fierce battle between Seong Gi Hun, who will return to the game to take revenge, and the frontman, who will welcome him back to the deadly game again.

T.O.P will portray the role of player 230 named Thanos. He will be a retired rapper who got scammed and decided to join the game. 

Squid Game Season 2 will officially air on Netflix on December 26. It will have a total of 7 episodes.
