SUGARED FRIENDSHIP & LOVE?

This drama has a heart-warming glow of romance brought by these 3 couples and an awesome kind of friendship which somehow relates me with my 2 buddies girls Krisya and Grasya?. Whenever one of them is in a bad state, everyone did not missed a single chance to give comfort, encouragement, and support despite their busy schedule of their work. These 3 bestfriends may vary in terms of their personalities but they have only one common and that is how they firmly expresses their love towards their partners. As I've further watched the episodes, I cannot supress my laughter especially in the middle of the night that I almost forgot everyone's already at their own deep slumber?. The love story of these 3 couples is just like an ordinary one in real life who also experienced disapproval of parents, break ups, arguments, sweetness and chessy lines, and the most exciting part is 'marriage'. The last episode really made me laugh so hard seeing Zing Li and Ma Yi Yi crying out loud as they've witness the wedding of their friend Wu Ying, so childish.......indeed they're really bestfriends. There's no heavy conflict present here only a light one, it is purely sweet romance with inclusion of craziness. Anyway, thank you for bringing another good drama that I can add on my list.❤❤❤

Sweet and cute love story!

I should start by saying that i got attracted to this drama because of the familiar cast. When i started watching this drama....at first i thought the ML is cold , rude or something But as the story progessed everything changed.

Each character had their own development, own story to tell. This 22 eps drama will give satisfaction till end . Not that much of misunderstanding thank god for that. At first i watching random clip of this drama and i thought there too much misunderstanding, but i was wrong and im happy. This is a light wieght drama....with lots of live, self reliasation of certains pov you have in life.

Each couple in this drama is unique and adorable. Sometimes we can see the loopholes like usually in a drama ll the parents meet together and all etc etc. But this type of loopholes doesnt hamper yhe drama. Its best to leave it and watch it with what its shwoing. After watching this drama, you will wonder ,satisfied and be happy and be sad for some reason.

The charavter first i hated the most was Ma Yi Yi ,i felt so angry with her way of dealing her relationship and having insecurity. Even thogh she doesnt have to be but as the story her character developed the most ig for me. She became confident and overcame her fear, doubts, insecurity etc.

The production was good except there will be shaky scemes or it may look like they actually videoing the scene by their own hands so its fun to watch too. The OST of the drama is sooooo good.

The cast did a fantastic job of potraying their roles exactly. It suited them too. Each chatacter in the drama put a very good effort to make this drama sweet.

If you are a fan of watching cute and adorable romance drama then this may be it for you. 22 eps will give you satisfaction till the end scene of the last ep. Its worth of your time! You wont even know know when you finished this drama!

I hope you all like the drama!

Cliché, Cute, and Sweet just like the title

This drama is a lot better than most of the other idol dramas out there based on the story and I'm glad I was able to see newer actresses and actors play leading roles. My favourite couple was Liu Yu Cheng (played by Zhai Xiao Wen) and Wu Ying (Baby Zhang/Zhang Bo Jia) followed by Deng Hao Ren (Terry Liu/Liu Te) and Ma Yi Yi (Wan Zi Lin). The main leads were okay, it was cuter when they got together, especially in one of the scenes she got drunk, but nothing special about them in my honest opinion. I liked the overall story how it was simple and sweet despite the clichés.

It's a good watch, but I really only stayed for Liu Yu Cheng & Wu Ying. Most of the conflicts that make a drama...dramatic, came from them and would not have been that entertaining otherwise. If you are not someone into super sweet/cute dramas or older women and younger guy couples then this might drama might not be your cup of tea. Deng Hao Ren and Ma Yi Yi's characters were interesting and bittersweet at times, but their maturity and how they view relationships at the end was nice to see despite how they sometimes act childish with each other.

SPOILER: The one thing that I really liked about the main couple is towards the end where Ai Jing Chu decides to go to Africa to volunteer right before Zeng Li confesses/they got together. Rather than asking Ai Jing Chu to stay, Zeng Li lets him go and waits for him to come back, however, Ai Jing Chu's hesitance sometimes gets on your nerves even though he's advised to take the initiative by multiple people before and during their relationship, but all's well that ends well.

Easy watch but nothing ground breaking

Sweet Teeth is one of the easiest/lightest dramas you can watch in 2021. The plot isn't heavy and easy to follow, the characters are all good-spirited (yes, every main character), and the overall vibe leaves a sweet aftertaste, albeit not a particularly impactful one. I'll examine the pros and cons and help whoever reads this decide whether it's something they want to watch.

Pros: 1) Leads. Both main leads are relatively new into the acting scene but I thought they carried their weight well. I especially thought Betty Wu did a great job balancing the cuteness/comedy/romance aspect of her character. Her acting isn't perfect but for an idol drama, definitely passable. I will bring up that I would have liked to see her change up her hairstyle once in a while - she has dyed hair w/ long straight bangs the whole show, a tad on the unfashionable side haha. I thought the male lead did alright as well. We're finally able to see a "cold/cool" main character actually be nice, affectionate, and most importantly, not perfect. He has his insecurities but doesn't bring out any of the stalker vibes like some CEO dramas. Shows off a well-rounded character as opposed to the typical "perfect, quiet, cool" main characters that are plaguing cdramas. Once again, not perfect acting by any means but good enough.

2) Light plot and pacing. Watch this if you don't want to watch anything too heavy. Nothing about revenge or angsty breakups. For the main leads, it's a relatively sweet story. A bit of a love triangle that plagues the middle of the drama but as the whole series is only 22 episodes!!! (LOVING THE SHORT MODERN DRAMA PACING). This eliminates pacing issues that many series struggle with. Lots of shows struggle with plot and character development after the characters get together which is why the final arcs in many of these dramas result to angsty breakups, disapproving parents, or other wacky misunderstandings. As Sweet Teeth is relatively short and the main leads get together relatively late, there's little drag. It's a simple watch although because of the light plot, it might not be something to draw viewers in to binge, but it's a show that you can watch a couple of episodes at a time.

Cons: 1) Low budget. Viewers can tell that the budget for this isn't the greatest. There's definitely inconsistencies in the dubbing which may be distracting. The setting is fine but the outfits are a bit bland (although the director might be going for the bland look for realism) - but the blandness makes it harder to binge.

2) Hard to binge. As mentioned before, it's a sweet watch but hard to binge because some parts are a bit bland, the middle is a bit draggy, and many moments are so cringe that you might need to put it on pause and take a breather. The slow really lacks that magnetic quality that some other shows have, and this might stem from the con #3.

3) Chemistry isn't exactly electric. I thought the main leads were good, but together, I didn't see that spark that some of my other favorite dramas have (Love is Sweet, You are my glory). But to each their own.

4) The damn interruptions. So many inopportune interruptions during key moments. Became way more frustrating than enjoyable/funny after a certain point.

Conclusion:
So should you watch? I think this will depend on whether you want to watch something a bit lighter. The interruptions during confessions or important moments is honestly a bit distracting. This show is unique in that the show establishes the leads like each other very early, but they don't get together until way later - maybe this keeps up the "magic" for you, but maybe these types of relationships are annoying for you. One thing I didn't mention is, there's a lot of focus on the 2nd and 3rd couples. I honestly did not find either of the side couples very entertaining and they do take up a lot of airtime. The main leads are relatively stable characters so some of the randomness/quirkiness/typical cdrama angst are thrown onto the side couples. If you're on the fence, watch a couple of eps and if the side couples are not entertaining, just drop this drama. There is a lot of focus on the side couples, and in my opinion, is a detriment. Overall, I think you should give it a try. It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea but might be a nice watch for many as well - just don't Shakespeare quality. I know for sure I will check out Betty Wu's future dramas.

It's a cute show with enough substance to remain interesting till the last episode.

The Good:
-All three couples were interesting.
-Everyone had good chemistry with everyone.
-The lack of dental procedures (I hate seeing that on screen & I have delayed watching this solely for that reason)
-The near complete lack of conflict
-The fluff (though there could have been more of it)
-I liked how the characters joked about ML having mild prosopagnosia.
-There were quite a few epic scenes. (Cats that catch mice don't meow, haha)
-Second lead noona romance was totally awesome, wow.
-Fairly unoffensive product placements

The Neutral:
-The love triangle may have been resolved beautifully, but it was still arbitrarily conjured out of thin air & they wasted 2 full episodes on it.
-FL's annoying mom (as annoying as she was, luckily she had very little screen time)
-The Africa thing (I've read about this in the comments before, but it had very little plot relevance & it was not nearly as offensive as I thought it would be.)

The Bad:
-The pacing has not been adjusted for a 22 episode series. (Episode 17 felt like the 17th episode from a 40 episode long drama)
-There were so many missed opportunities, I wish this was at least 5 episodes longer, see previous point.
-The ending is really rushed, then again I'm just repeating myself now.

What happens when you put six gorgeous actors/actresses in lead roles? You get Sweet Teeth! Honestly I first clicked on this drama because I mistook our main male lead for Evan Lin in the picture. Regardless, I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. The storyline is pretty good, but my favorite thing in this drama (besides the characters) was the music. It was fun and energetic, and the nightclub scene made me want to get up and dance along. Bonus educational tidbit: I now know the proper way to brush my teeth as well as what foods not to eat with metal braces. If you are reading subtitles, most episodes are spot on but there is one where the timing is really off so be aware of that. For the time being you will have to watch all the episodes on iQiyi because they aren't all on YouTube.

It's really is as sweet as it says! <3

One of the best cdramas I watched. No evil in laws that disagree with their relationships. No jealous second leads that play dirty tricks to 'get' the characters. No unnecessary drama. This Series is all about their feelings toward each other and how far they'll go for each other. The difficulties faced by people in love like misunderstandings, insecurities, etc. How they tackle them together, and don't give up. The first couple, the second couple and the third couple. Each one had different ways, situations, perspectives, and so on. I especially loved how they all were Mutual friends and literally became a squad going on double- triple dates etc. This series makes you realise how great of a deal love is, while at the same time, how a trivial thing it is. Timing, variables, feelings, destiny. No matter how great a love story, they'll come across these problems Sooner or later. But, how they overcome them without giving up, is worth watching. The three besties reminds you of how great it is, to have friends, in your ups and downs, with you. The OSTs were soo good that I've been listening to them over and over again and reminiscing the feels of the drama. In conclusion, a must watch!

Fluffy piece to make you feel good

A really fluffy drama, that shows the various forms of relationship that is in trend currently using multiple couples. The highlight of the drama is the acting done by all the leads, Wu Xuan Yi stole the show. Baby Zhang showcased a excellent side of a mature relationship, in a other totally fluffy drama that justifies the name. Music and cinematography was top.

Con: nothing new like absolutely nothing new, like the major serious plots are around children suffering from parents divorce and Hero choosing to go aboard.

But then again that's to expect form a fluffy drama.

Overall a drama to watch if just want something running to make you feel good.

Cutesy way to start the year

Jan. 2, 2022

Sweet Teeth is such a cute drama. I really love how all the leads are very bearable and not super toxic, unlike other Cdramas. I also love the growth of each character as each FLs and MLs showcases the different type of people and their way of perceiving life.

Although, what bothered me the most about this drama is the blatant ignorance towards Africa and how they kept linking diseases to the African nations. I feel like it may be the propaganda that China may have, but that part of the show made me skip as I felt uncomfortable with it. What they did is basically the same as associating Covid with China. LIke come on please, writers do better. That was really disappointing, I thought we are over associating people/countries/places with certain diseases. Honestly, I would have given this show a solid 9/10 but because of this issue, I took a star off.

As for everything else, I really liked it! So watch this drama at your own discretion!

A really cute drama

Have recently stopped watching C dramas to catch up on K dramas. This series has been on my to watch list since it started.

The series started out cute, I really like how there’s ample screen time all 3 couples! And how each of their story progresses.

It was my first time watching a drama with casts that I’m not familiar with. But I would say their acting was good.

The only lacking part was the ending for the main couple. I really hoped they would delve in further cause I’m a real sucker better ending not like it was a bad one

Lovely and sweet

A sweet, age appropriate drama which is a relatively quick watch. It will give you many joyous moments. Three female best friends with refreshingly different career choices and how their love lives pan out. It may take initial 4 to 5 episodes before you start to enjoy their friendship and bonding. Gradually the three couples will become really likable due to the way issues are resolved with minimal conflict.

It was much better in many aspects compared to usual C- dramas. For e.g they tend to be super long, don’t show emotional depth, tons of side characters which are usually very boring, screeching females who rarely behave according to their age, super bad hair and clothing style for women, fish kisses worse than K dramas etc.

Some really tough issues were resolved with genuine love, understanding and letting go of one’s ego. All three couples were so pretty to look at. What made me truly happy was better body language despite fish kisses. There were quite a few such lovely moments.

If you are missing being silly with your best friends or sisters, then this would make you relate to them. I loved the premise of lead couple romance started with both of them being avid book readers. The back ground music score was so lovely and made you feel as if you are floating on a cloud.

Few tiny issues may be overlooked for e.g. the dental physician had a romantic relationship with FL who was his patient, love triangle etc.

I strongly recommend it to heal your heart from heavy dramas.
