The episode is mid but it will work for light and easy to watch.

I tend to watch Chinese shows if I'm looking for something light and airy, and they have a lot of shows like this. It's just that I wish the writing was tighter with less filler. The number of long camera shots and information that can be skipped is honestly ridiculous. The entire episode was basically filler and the situation is being built really slowly. I'm going to accept that. The female lead has this look of disgust that irritates me. Her two major expressions so far are that look of disgust and the innocent look. The problem is that there are situations that don't call for a look that disgusted, or instead of disgust, a look that shows that the character is offended or feeling pensive. The look is not good. I've never liked male leads that are genuinely just jerks. It's okay to keep to yourself but there's a way to go about it. For example, when the FL accidentally took his tray in the cafeteria, he could just have said so. But no, saying nothing with that condescending and annoyed look was the way to go.

When he was taking a shower and his classmate was bothering him, he simply should have said he wasn't interested in talking to him. Yet, he let him keep talking to create the impression that he was talking to himself. No, my guy. If you just tell someone else you don't want to talk, then they'll leave you alone. Ignoring him makes him a jerk and it's not cool. It's just gross. Writing the male lead like this makes him unlikeable. What on earth can make such a person attractive? I'm wondering if there will be some redeeming characteristic that makes it better, but I doubt it. It's not an issue in itself that they were going for an unlikeable male lead, the issue arises from the portrayal of the character. It seems that he is seen as "cool" or should be seen as somehow "cool" by his classmates and the viewers. The editing makes that argument even though the dialogue doesn't and it's irritating. This sort of writing, of a truly inconsiderate and childish jerk male lead, is out of style because, in reality, it is actually a ridiculous attitude.

The show was written in 2022 so it's a let-down that it was written like this. Of course, you could argue that there's no backstory yet for his attitude but if there is then I consider it a failing in production because then there should be a sense of humanity in the character early on when he is alone at least. But there is none. His eyes are giving robot, arrogant and condescending. Still, it seems that it will fit the purpose of why I picked it. Which is light and easy to watch, not because the story is light but because the writing doesn't do it enough justice to make it harder to watch. I think the entire story will be interesting and heart-tugging (hopefully) but the individual episode quality will not be great.
