This mid-length Pinoy-produced film left me with a slightly conflicted impression. The small minus is mainly that I didn't really believe the actors' renunciation, although I have to admit that the former karate player, basketball player, singer and model Migs Villasis looks very pleasant, but it's just my feeling, others they can rate the acting as a ten. But everything else this time was above average and more or less professional when I compare with the Philippine average. The music, processing, photography for the film, which raised more expectations in me than what I got from the actors, but above all the motto that I described in the Tributes to the film is very powerful, important, and that is why the story has such a high rating from me. .. although ... everything is kind of messed up, upside down, and many may find the conclusion strange.

Break Up While You Can

Content Warnings: tragedy

Overall: I absolutely hated the "moral" of the story which is to stay in a non-working relationship and hope that magically one day it gets better (spoiler alert, that very rarely happens in real life)

What I Liked
- I think basically everything was well done like production, acting, etc. I recognized one actor from In Between.

Room For Improvement
- I really disliked the terrible "moral". This couple had a huge deal breaker in their relationship which was shown to be a problem that they both acknowledged. They should have broken up, not spent 5 years being unhappy with the other person. Breaking up isn't necessarily bad, it can be the best thing for one or all people involved...

How I Got Here

So in all honesty I came across this while watching other BL dramas lol but when I saw Migs, I knew I had to watch. If you're looking for something cute and fluffy, I assure you you won't find it here. I'm a really negative person so most of this show (even though it was short) I spent bitching about them being together. There comes a time when you need to step back and realize, holding on hurts more than letting go! Due to feeling like this and based on the ending that came to the ultimate 'WTF moment' I now feel like poop for saying they shouldn't be together. BUT the good thing about reviews is it's all based on personal opinion so until you decide...
Enjoy...

Interesting

This was OK... APPLAUSE ... The only thing I didn't understand was the ending... Did Uly say that Cloud couldn't handle the breakup? - What breakup?
1.It was either a dream but it can't be because of the letter and rings.
2. The translation was wrong... break malfunction... but why was he crying?

Can someone please explain it to me?

This was like... sad, sad, sad, happy, sad: Truck-Kun 😅
There were some audio issues but nothing too serious.
- The acting in the end.. After River found out about Cloud... he was calling him as if he was a dog, wtf
He barely looked shocked, to be honest.

But hey, this short teaches us to never give up.

8/10

Love it or hate it

When Migs Villasis is involved, you know you're not gonna get your ordinary feelgood BL-series. That's what many people (like myself) love him for, and that's why some people hate him. And when the title is 'Love while you can' you'll guess the final scene won't be a passionate kiss. So I was prepared, I thought. But I wasn't expecting this short film of about 35 minutes would hit me as hard as it did.

The plot covers five days, from River (Migs Villasis) and Cloud's (Kimpoy Feliciano) first to their fifth anniversary. They quarrel through the first four and decide to separate the day before the fifth, the main (but not the only) reason being that River wants to make their relationship public while Cloud doesn't. Despite this, River asks Cloud to celebrate their fifth anniversary together, spending a nice day without quarreling for once, before they finally part ways. They do spend a dream of a beautiful day, at the end of which Cloud is finally ready to come out publicly. He dies the same night in a car accident, although a letter he leaves for River indicates that it wasn't an accident.

There are only three characters in this movie: River, Cloud, and River's best friend (Mark Wei), the latter doing his best to support River and Cloud's relationship, so there is nothing to distract viewers from the essentials, i.e. story of the main couple.

All the three actors are great, absolutely on point, never overacting. Another production company may have been tempted to show more scenes of Migs' attractive body and tattoos (which one may have expected after watching the trailer), but this one doesn't, and that's good, because that's just not the point here.

The script is very good, appropriate for a short film that focuses on the relationship of the leads whose opposing characters are depicted in short sketches but still are completely credible and understandable. Cinematography is also better than a lot of Pinoy series. I didn't like part of the OST, but that's a matter of taste. I rate this 9.5 'only' because of the OST, but the rewatch value imo is clearly a 10.

This is a great little movie, but you should be warned not to watch it before you go to bed. You may not find sleep anytime soon. It will make you think, about time, about missed opportunities, about the way you treat your partner. Like always, when Migs Villasis is involved, you will love it or you will hate it. I love it.
