Marry Me Not Too Merry
I hardly watch Philippine Drama nowadays since my favourite station lost their franchise, instead I binge watch KDrama, Japanese, Chinese and some Thai Dramas. But for this one I give a shot to check. The story is good and some of the actors are unquestionably great, but there's some failed side in this series. I grew up watching ABS-CBN shows specifically their Teleserye or dramas and it's remarkably the best that other Philippine TV stations can't beat.
Maybe it's just me, but I find this show just a so so... or maybe it's just because of what happened. Pandemic hits and the station lose their franchise so it's really hard to produce a quality series they had before.
What I noticed on this show are, the production, story pacing and the performance of some cast are not an ABS-CBN mark.
Here's my observation. First the characters development and the story pacing are abrupt that you'll miss to absurb and connect the story. (I know that it's really hard to make a show nowadays since they have this locked in shootings and it's very costly) No question asked for the Director because she's one of new calibre directors today.
I also want to site that the young female lead doesn't resembles to Cammile (Jannine) but it's more to Patricia the ex of Andrei (Paulo). ABS-CBN never failed this aspect before, their very keen of choosing the actors even a very slight character. I'm glad to see new faces to give chance to new actors but this one frustrates me☺️.
Another thing, I want to comment for the production side. LINK is one of the biggest company but I noticed that their table signages is putcho2 just a mere wood with an engraved name on a metal sheet, unlike before their shows have this fibre glass table signage for the Governor or CEO etc. (but again, I understand they need to cut their budget to produce a show and give works to everyone in spite of what happened)
Edited: I noticed that on the later part of the show, they removed the signages, maybe they found it off.?
Now for the actors. It's an all time casts, for the veteran actors, superb specially Ms. Pie. They contributed a lot to pull up the show.
The younger ones, I barely recognised them, it's a new faces but not that bad for a new comers.
Adrian as Kelvin is good.
Keann needs to work out with his facial expressions but not bad.
Jake E, managed to portray the heart broken loyal friend.
I like Iana B. she works well as a bitchy Patricia, I find her gorgeous, she looks like Angel Aquino.
I enjoyed the love story of LukeLine, its one thing I look forward in every episodes, I find them cute☺️♥️
Paulo Avelino is Paulo Avelino, he is. He's one of my favourite actor. (he gained weight but still good looking, but he needs to shed some pounds to be more appealing wearing suites and tie as a CEO)
For Jannine, this is the first time that I really watch her show since she become a Kapamilya artist. She's lovely, but the only thing that I hate her character is that she had this smiling facial expression that I think not appropriate in all scenes. I find it very annoying and nosy as Cammile that she kept insisting to fix their family feud right away. I find it insensitive and she had this pabebe smile and looks everytime, it's irritating to watch her character, very entitled to demand her boyfriend to forgive his mother like nothing happened.
The writers should do something about it, the story became shallow on top of the cliché moments. I hope to see her more shows and hopefully I will find her as one of great actors in ABS not only a looker.
The OST, I find it like a "Start Up" vibe, it's good but not that great.
I managed to finished season1, for re watching it, not this time... I enjoyed the series and looking forward to the next season.
