That night when they went off the road, and they danced and laughed, was pretty fun! They made such a good team with the investigation... 😌🤗Fei: "Have you been watching too many romance dramas?"Yifei: "Yes."Fei: "That's enough," and starts hitting Yifei... We are getting there! 🤭😂And what's with those tea eggs? Do they taste any different from regular boiled eggs? What's the catch?

episode 8 actually showed us how intelegence Qian fei and Li yifei they so serius about job and didnt rely on their love storystep by step their started have feelings but still denial

Family dynamics:
+ I didn't think I'd enjoy the lunching scene between Li Fei and his father that much. This scene explores not only their dynamic as father and son, but also their characters. The distinctive ways they eat subtly hint his father was from a humble background while his picky, a bit ill-mannered son didn't receive a lot of care growing up. Even though, Li Fei said his mother died when he was young and he has a difficult relationship with his father; Here, there seems to be no distance between the two. (Li Fei just ups and steals his father's rare and expensive tea set in a swoop. Kids, LOL.) They don't hide from each other. It's genuine and healthy their dynamic. It's actually a bit too nice and rosy given the seemingly immense wealth their family possesses.
+ The dynamic between Li Fei and uncle Jiang (his father's driver/butler/assistant/etc.), although short, was full of care and love for one another. Not simply a helper but a part of the family. (I think of the domestic workers in Singapore. But it pains me to just have this thought because of the abuses and discrimination many face, even though their work is never short of tremendous...)
Flatmate dynamics:
+ It seems to me that Li Fei will grow to care, and actually take actions to show that he cares, for other people living with Qian Fei. She pays close attention to him when he receives the call of his father's accident. She waits for him to return, focusing solely on his wellbeing, making him snow ear mushroom soup... For sure, that is not in Li Fei's bingo card of that year, or even of that life time LOL. I like how they make it a touching moment, but don't dwell in a more dramatically emotional path but a comedic one. It's light-hearted, but still memorable.
+ By this episode, Fei Fei are quite comfortable with each other. They still bicker, going back and forth with their banters. Most importantly, they don't shy from being and showing their true selves. I fully support this kind of individuality and foundational relationship. You must be comfortable with who you are to be with other people. And you only live once, why live as anyone other than yourself.
+ These two are a joy to watch whenever they are on screen. I don't know if the upcoming episodes will divide them in any sort of ridiculous situation. But I hope, if so, they'll think about the times they exercise/dance/play in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere together, eat with each other, drink with each other, care about and for one another to... communicate and sort things out just as they have been doing.
Great episode except that scene of the 2ML fumbling because he doesn't have any agency in the presence of his new rich girlfriend and her scheming father. It's annoying. But I'll tolerate because they are essential to the storyline. I wonder how harsh the "you reap what you sow" parts at the end will be.

YiFei messed up scaring QianFei and grabbing the wheel. It isn’t surprising they went off-road. After the scary stories they went for exercising to keep warm. Old man therapy🤣😂 They play like kids and go back in car to sleep. They get rescued by a local farmer and when driving to station Qian Fei gets email with the data they needed. Their bit of kindness was rewarded. She heads home to study data and YiFei is tricked into thinks his dad hurt. He goes home to find his dad had a barely sprained ankle.😝 He is talked into lunch and chided for being so quiet. He reminds Yi Fein reminds his dad he was just following dad’s rules. Father and son chats about business and YiFei makes it clear he wants to make his own company. He is also told Liao is trying to poach his sr staff. Yi Fei learns his dad keeps tabs on his son to be sure he’s doing ok. And then it’s about getting married. His dad is glad the model is out of the picture and he wants YiFei to find a nice girl to have a family with. The scene shifts to the bday banquet and this father wanted to know why the dishes were similar. His daughter has meticulously chosen them for him. Her new bf presents the dad with a golf glove. It is clear he has no clue what he gave when asked why only one.😝🙄While daughter is off making more arrangements dad brings bf aside and gives him a chat about sincerity. This guy, I think there might be a spine in him somewhere, but I fail to see what he offers that had two intelligent capable women fall in love with him. 🧐 So when gf is congratulating him on how well her father thinks of him and is giving him a special project he has to wonder what’s up. His gf thinks she has dad so wrapped around her finger that he agrees with every decision she makes. It is looking like bf will be good candidate for fall guy. Yi Fei snags some tea from his dad and heads back to apartment. There he saw that Qian Fei made some white mushroom soup as a comforting dish to strengthen him as he watched over his dad. He is touched by the gesture and is not telling her his dad’s a big faker. While she’s taking a break from working on her report he helps himself to her fried rice and then polishes her report. He considered that recompense for the meal. He is funny demanding tea eggs. I looked up da hong pao tea because I’m not very knowledgeable about tea. The mother plant is centuries old and it’s known for being one of the most expensive teas in the world. Qian Fei is a foodie and wanted to know if it was the real thing and of course YiFei acknowledged it with his sleepy grumpy voice.🤣😂 It is cute and funny that both want pictures with the tea eggs. 🤣 Ms Fang, I am not sure what I think of her. She thinks she is blackmailing YiFei for her sake and he accepts she won’t hire Qian Fei without freedom from Liao backlash. when he is willing to throw his company under the bus to protect her. I think he wants Qian Fei to really see the people she wants to work for and leave of her own volition. Funny how Ms Fang was willing to get Qian Fei on board when she was assured she’d get no backlash for finding the fraudulent accounts. She is hardly a worthy mentor.😝That is why mean girl office worker thinks she can get her own way. Ms Fang won’t rock the boat to do the right thing. 😝 Qian Fei is getting the call she’s been wanting but I’m not looking forward to how this will pan out for her.
