Fake marriage turned out to be fluffy & cute romance with cliffhanger ending.

This is a very typical cdrama which involved in fake marriage turned to real romance with 3rd party wheel involvement.
Since this cdrama has a total of 15 episodes with 30 mins / per episode hence I will not reveal any spoiler over here but to comment on the story, casting & OST.

Story - If you like romcom then this cdrama suits your taste as you may find quite a number of skinship of the main couple over here. Another thing was there is no side couple which we can't make any comparison to the main couple but solely on the main couple that is the ML - Bai Li / Lord Qian Sui acted by Luo Zheng & the FL - Chen You You acted by Ji Mei Han. Luckily both of them managed to create the on screen chemistry considering both are quite young & amateur's actor & actress. Nothing much I can comment on this story & plot as I feel there will be another session of continuation as this story ended with a cliffhanger.

Acting - On the ML by Luo Zheng as Bai Li / Lord Qian Sui, I feel he has improved in his acting skill compared to his earlier cdrama "Cry Me a River of Stars" only thing is his face, personally I feel like he has undergone plastic surgery which in this drama labelled him as the most handsome or good looking person. For me, I feel his look is more suitable to be a model than an actor as for the FL by Ji Mei Han who played the role of Chen You You, certain angle she looks similar as Zhao Lu Si. Even the way she acted & talked in this drama is quite alike Zhao Lu Si too. Another role that I quite enjoyed watch is Bai Li right hand man - Gu Tian He acted by Hu Wei as he has acted in quite a number of cdramas as supporting roles but over here his role was really humorous & funny ones. The rest of the supporting roles too did a great job in portraying their role such as Chen Ming Hao who played the Royal Highness roles who loves to bake biscuits or delicacies.

The OST - I like the opening OST songs it seems nice & pleasant to listen even the ending OST too was good.

Since this is a low budget cdrama so I don't expect it to be very good but overall it was above average to me except the cliffhanger ending. So if you're considering whether to watch it or not then you need to be prepared for the ending or else everything seems to be fine (for me!).

All Chinese Romcom Clichés in a Single Package

This drama is a few hours of story stretched into fifteen episodes that end on a cliffhanger. Its characters are okay and could be interesting, but there's no story at all. Things just happen one after another in an orderly fashion.

Characters: The two main leads are the highlight of the show. They have good chemistry and seem to be having fun with the terrible script that’s been given to them. Lord Qian Sui is an outwardly cold man with a heart of gold, while Chen Youyou is a quite silly, but energetic and quick-witted street girl. This leads to a generic, but cute romance in a very unrealistic ancient China setting. The supporting characters don’t get much screen time, and while they’re not bad, there are no stand outs, either. They’re all pretty much one note.

Comedy: Lord Qian Sui is a fake eunuch, who doesn’t want to be found out, while Chen Youyou is a girl, who marries him and is ordered to learn everything about him. Him trying to hide and her trying to catch him unawares is where most of the comedy comes from. It’s quite ridiculous and involves the two characters falling on top of each other more than once, but it’s all harmless fun and will delight anyone who’s a fan of Chinese absurd romance comedy style. However, the drama takes a hard left halfway through and starts using second-hand embarrassment and extremely awkward situations as comedy. It doesn’t really work and is almost unbearable to watch from time to time.

Story: It’s quite amazing how the scriptwriter of Oh My Lord! managed to run out of material within five or so episodes. The premise of the story is ridiculous, but it works fine enough at the start if one knows what they’re getting into (an absurd yet hilarious romcom), but it doesn’t last long. The story begins to meander before even reaching the halfway point, and it doesn’t get better. It gets worse, instead. A lot worse. The last couple episodes are one cliché followed by another without any break until someone who’s seen at least a few Chinese romcoms could say the characters’ lines for them. It’s a total snooze fest.

Overall, I enjoyed the start of the drama, but finished it only for the characters to see their happy ever after (which I didn't get because it was a cliffhanger ending that promises a second season). I would not recommend this unless someone wants to waste some time with a light-hearted, mindless comedy that lives and then dies on clichés that have been done to death in many much better dramas.

In general I liked drama itself. Though I am not a fan of a bit helpless female characters. Yes, they should be feminine but not childish. Sorry… just they could speak and use a bit more mature voice and speaking. I liked Lou Zheng acting, so far he has been very good in all male leading roles and has been able to delivery nicely this calm, confident and manly character.
Seems there will be season 2, cause it ended so suddenly, I even thought I missed some important episode or mixed up something. Though didn’t excpect that this drama would be something that producers would plan a second season. Still, if it will be on screen, I sure will watch it.

What?

This a cute show with actors that are fun to watch. There are plenty of laughs and a cry or two. We have an emerging villainess to set some angst. The series does not look cheesy and costuming is well done. There was some disappointment as I feel it ended abruptly or just didn't end. I will be hope for a season 2. I keep my finger crossed and hope for the best. they say I need 500 characters to round out my review it was only 15 episodes and I personally could have used a few more. It really was an entertain series.

I will keep this very short because you can´t really say anything about this.

This is very tropey , the most cliché, the basic cold lord and bubbly girl fake marriage. You have most likely seen this before many times before. So if you are looking to watch something like this, it´s definitely for you.

The reason I put this in the middle of the scale is because this does have it´s cute moments, characters were acceptable and the story over all was fine.

Reasons why I take points away is because this drama gives us nothing new. You will not miss anything if you don´t watch this. And for the love of god can people start talking instead of running away. Like I am so tired of this. Learn how to concur problems together.

Decent start to a rom-com but no ending

I only watched because i like the ML, even after all the reviews warning about the ending.
The FL is pretty good, i enjoyed watching her. Shes not screeching her lines or completely helpless and she is intelligent. Like another reviewer said, in some shots she really resembles Zhao LuSi, the acting is similar as well.
The romance is cute, funny and tropey, everything you've come to expect from a run of the mill cdrama in this genre. Chemisty is luke warm, ML is great at conveying longing and desire with his expressions, FL not so much, at least not AS good.

The ending is a cliff hanger, zero plot threads are tied up other than the main couple being back togther (theres at least 1 1/2 break ups). If there is a second half then i'd consider it a decent drama but i wont hold my breath. So unfortunately I cant really recommend it to anyone unless you just have a love for the actors and your show inventory is running dry.

Enjoyable but could be better.

Oh My Lord got it down already with the chemistry of its leads. They're phenomenally electric! I just wish that their relationship will get stronger and more mature if a second season does happen. Their story could be so much better than what we currently have...

The storyline of this season, while cliche was enjoyable, until they started adding more angst. The angst could've been okay if it was inline with the story and if it would give the characters more growth. But the angst started a little bit too early and was resolved a little bit nonchalantly, thus not making the growth possible. Also, the politics aspect of the series, while made as a leverage at first to start their relationship, just became disregarded then suddenly on the last episode they made that the main point of the cliffhanger...

A good start

I say 'start' because there's obviously going to be 2nd season since the ending was a cliffhanger. I wondered while watching if there'd be another season because they never got to solving the main mystery - who was behind the destruction of ML's family. I sort of dread the second season because knowing C-dramas, they'll find some way to ruin a good start. It was good because it lacked a lot of what makes a historical C-drama bad in my opinion - forced marriages (well, ML/FL were forced to marry, but nobody's forcing them to marry someone else), tyrannical emperors bestowing marriages, evil concubines/love rivals (yeah, there was a love rival for FL, but this girl wasn't too effective and gave up once ML resisted the aphrodisiac she gave him). I do have to wonder how long ML will be able to keep his secret (that he's not an eunuch) if he and FL make their marriage real. Guess FL will have to call in the local witch doctor for birth control, eh? I did feel sorry for ML's love rival - the pastry baking prince. My favorites character was ML's sidekick, General Gu. He was pretty funny, especially when he and FL's maid were have heated yet silent conversation behind ML/FL back while the couple were out shopping when respective love rivals (the couple was having a fight at the time). Although Gu and Tian didn't speak, they made expressive gestures while their conversation voiced over/written in subtitles. I think that was the cutest scene in the 1st season. ML looks sufficiently devastated/hurt when FL was forced to break off their marriage by the female love rival. Poor guy.

Overall, it was enjoyable, but I dread the second season since no doubt MC will be torn apart by some misunderstanding or meddling by love rivals or Lord Xian or this mysterious 'master' of Lord Qian Sui (ML).

CLIFFHANGER!!!

Oh My Lord is a good lighthearted drama that, sadly, ends with a cliffhanger and, hopefully, will be followed by a second season. The show has quick resolutions for the arising problems but it also has clichés that could’ve been avoided. For a 15 episodes drama, the leading couple and their servants did a good job bringing their characters to life, but for the most part, the acting from other supporting cast was subpar. Overall, it is a nice drama that needs a second season to make it worth watching.

Cliffhanger ending

What ! drama gets over at 15th episode ?What ! such expression comes out .I thought there will be more episodes and which are not telecast yet . So after complete seeing the 15th episode I wait for one week for it then I check on mydramalist and came to know drama has 15 episodes only. What is the meaning of ending scene , Is there 2nd season ? It should have , otherwise watching this drama become a such wastage.
At very start, Due to misunderstanding they married to each other . So starting was good . Actually whole drama was good . But ending part disappointed. Everything was good about drama scenes, view, acting but end is a cliffhanger.
