"There is no real despair in this world, only prisoners of thoughts". -some writer.

But honestly I actually find this show to be of a fine kind where everything just blends in like being fun goofy around each other joking and then acting like a clingy couple at times it felt too beautiful to be true, yet at times I felt the urge inside a person to hold themselves back willingly as well. Most of all the couple has great chemistry and did felt a little distant feeling between them at some points but the main point of the drama was very well expressed. It was really fun to watch tho not the type to keep me at the edge of my chair but worth the time.

Stick around for the second half—Wang Anyu’s quiet devotion will utterly ruin you.

Despite some minor flaws in the script, directing, and a few lacking moments in the female lead's acting, this drama is absolutely worth the watch. In fact, it goes far beyond just being "watchable"—it is deeply heart-touching. The father-daughter relationship alone brings a beautiful, emotional layer to the story.

I initially went into this expecting a soft, fluffy drama, but it completely subverted my expectations. Instead, it induces a mild heartache through its beautifully written story and the profound, unbreakable bond between the leads. While the second leads are genuinely cute, my main reason for staying glued to the screen was entirely Wang Anyu.

Chen Luzhou, The man you are...

His portrayal is extraordinary. Chen Luzhou is so beautifully attuned to the female lead's emotions; he does everything and becomes everything for her without her ever having to ask. The emotional intelligence of this man honestly needs to be studied. He is such a secure man—he has his own life and goals going for him, yet he knows exactly how to be there for her. He loves her subtly, without being loud about it, but that subtlety carries a massive, unforgettable impact. Despite all the giggles he gave me, he seriously made me feel so single!

Furthermore, I have to disagree with the criticism surrounding the female lead’s love for him. Some viewers claim they don't understand why he loves her, or suggest she doesn't match his intensity, but she absolutely loves him just as much. She stands up for him in a way he has never experienced from anyone else in his life. For the first time, someone fights for *him*. She challenges him the most, and he loves her entirely for who she is as a person, not just how she relates to him.

If for nothing else, watch this drama simply to witness the sheer gravity of their bond, and a masterclass in yearning from Wang Anyu. Chen Luzhou’s quiet, fierce devotion alone will utterly ruin you. Backed by a truly great OST, this drama delivers an emotional depth that will stay with you long after the final episode.

For those who like simple, sweet young love stories

Since there were several negative comments in the chatroom, I decided to write this review to give my different opinion. It’s true that the editor cut scenes that disrupted the script, the dubbing was imperfect, and kisses are hidden. But the criticism to the FL is unwarranted. Her acting was spot on for a character with strongly repressed emotions for many years. Later (also following her script character) she becomes a bit more emotional and her acting is also good.
More things that I liked:
• The dialogue is original, not a single cliché
• The main couple has strong chemistry despite the lack of kisses
• The secondary characters are not annoying, and I loved the fathers
• The past stories of some characters were timely revealed
• The OST is beautiful
• And of course Wang An Yu, one of my faves in C-dramas

Cool story, the main lead's relationship was badly written

You know what sucks. I defended this drama because it doesn't really matter if they kissed or not, they plot was cool. Then I watched the KDrama, "We Are All Trying Here", and realise just how shit the writing for the main relationship in this drama was.

In We Are All Trying Here, the main leads didn't kiss. NOT ONCE. Yet, they probably have the best relationship I've seen in a drama. The plot of Be Passionately in Love was good, but holy shiet, the main leads was NOT passionately in love

No Sparks, No Passion: A Disappointing Adaptation

The title promises a passionate romance, but the drama falls far short of delivering one. The love story is almost nonexistent and feels painfully unrealistic. The female lead’s portrayal lacks any genuine warmth or passion, making it difficult to connect with her feelings for the male lead. Meanwhile, the male lead is the only one truly attempting to convey deep emotion, yet even his efforts can’t fully salvage the one-sided dynamic.

Adding to the disappointment, the drama strays from the novel’s more steamy and intimate scenes. With the female lead’s “no kiss” clause, the chemistry between the leads comes across as awkward and unconvincing. Emotional moments rely on stiff hugs rather than genuine connection, leaving the romance feeling hollow and insincere.

Overall, this drama wastes the talents of its cast and misses the chance to tell a truly heartfelt love story. It’s a letdown and not worth the time.

For teens series

First of all. Congratulations to all, it was a great drama. The story is light, no heavy drama, good for people who want to watch a genre like this. I'm just a little disappointed when it comes to the kissing scenes, i think it's just a camera angle. I thought the leads are underage for not pursuing real kissing scenes. I hope to see the male actor for next modern series with real kissing scenes, i bet his a good kisser.

It's a very good romantic story but in reality it's about a love atory between A handsome, hot hero and a robotic girlfriend ( acting wise). Wang Anyu is such a great actor. He and all other casts tried to pull off but with a lead actress with no expression apart from smiling .... It's painful to watch. I don't understand why FL is interested in romantic series if she doesn't want to kiss and why producers and director took।her in this role. If somebody doesn't want to।kiss then she or he must know how to show the passion through acting skill. Director also should learn hkw to potray a steamy scene wirhout kissing. Pls watch the scene between Bai lu and Alen ren where both of them are rain drenched. Anyway, story is very good. And I want to see more good projects of Wang An Yu

Great series and all but.......

Okay. I will really commend this drama as a very beautiful one, great story and all but I can't believe I have a BUT about it. Okay, first being passionately in love shouldn't be about physical touch or kisses so I really won't blame the actress though that somehow dragged down the tension of the drama for me but then before I judge I should also know there is a reason to all things. Second thing I noticed and don't like after rewatching thrice is that love is supposed to be a mutal thing right, I can do anything for you, you should also be able to do same but why do I feel like the main actor Wang An Yu was made a lovesick, passionate, committed, always ready man to a girl who is very nonchalant and sometimes distant. I feel the female lead (no offense) didn't put much efforts into the relationship as the male lead did. Like it was some kind of disguised one sided thing that I still can't process but that aside this drama is literally a very good drama that I recommend everyone to watch and enjoy cause it's shows us how passionate a love can be between the right people. There are good man out there at least this taught me that lol 😂. Anyways, enjoy the journey of our Shy Boy Chen and Xu Zhi ❤️

Chen LuZhou is a walking green flag

Although this drama was a slow start, it turned out to be a beautiful story with great character development. No unnecessary misunderstandings, just simply a thoughtful and thoroughly enjoyable love story! It deserves a much higher rating! And the music is simply beautiful. The second couple love story didn't dominate and take over the show at all.

Those who wants a light romance

I've already give my comments. Hence, I'll just add a little.

As the headline says, if you want to watch a light romance and haven't read the novel itself, this should be your picked. I haven't read the novel itself so i cant make a comparison between the two. The flow of how they started to know each other to the beginning of their relationship, it was very good.

I was also expecting the kiss part but I've encountered a comment that the female lead doesn't do kissing scene? so i respect that and didnt expect to have kissing scenes at all. Because for me, my time ive spent watching this chinese drama had not been wasted.

They have a chemistry too. They're a cute couple. There were problems and misunderstandings but there's no red flag.

This is my opinion and how i express my thoughts about this cdrama. Feel free to watch and judge. Thanks!

more like softly in love, honestly

i was actually into it at first. the story had potential. the FL felt fun and confident at the start, which i really enjoyed.

but the second half... kinda lost me. the pacing slowed down, and not much was happening. i had to push myself to finish it, not because it was awful, just because it didn't live up to what the title promised. i felt a lot of things but "being passionately in love" ain't one of them.

wang anyu was definitely a highlight, i really liked his acting and emotional scenes. liu haocun was cute too, maybe not the perfect fit for the role but i still enjoyed her expressions and i'd watch her again... maybe not in a romance tho.

that said, her character was a bit frustrating. i get they were going for confident, but sometimes felt more arrogant or emotionally distant. and those fake kisses weren't of any help.

the ost though? gorgeous. all the songs were amazing and definitely a standout.

overall, not a fave, but not the worst. just a flully drama that started ok but kind of fizzled out.

The Kind of Romance That Feels Like Home

Just finished watching this drama. It’s very lightweight — no toxicity at all. The chemistry, the love between them, I love everything about it. The two fathers in this drama are hilarious too, always bickering with each other 😂

You know, I honestly don’t mind at all if a drama doesn’t have kissing scenes. Because a good drama shouldn’t be judged by kissing scenes alone. Even though this is a romantic drama, you might wonder — how can it still feel romantic without any kissing scenes? How??

Because when I watch this drama, I can feel all the love between them. That butterflies-in-your-stomach feeling. Your heart feels like it’s blooming. This drama proves that even without kissing scenes, it can still be a very good drama.

I love all the relationships shown — from father and daughter, to Xu Zhi and Chen Luzhou. I especially love the trope where he fell first and fell harder. Chen Luzhou’s efforts seriously made me cry and feel so emotional 🥹

I also love how they inserted bits of comedy throughout the drama. There were unexpected moments too, which made it even more fun to watch. And the most unexpected one — the proposal scene. I actually had a feeling that the puppy keychain Luzhou gave Xu Zhi during New Year might be a hint. But I truly didn’t expect there to be a ring inside, and for Luzhou to propose to Xu Zhi at that moment.

I first got to know Wang Anyu through The Last Immortal. One thing I really love about him is his eye acting. When he acts, his eyes make you feel everything — the longing, the sadness. It really hits you.

As for Liu Haocun, I first saw her in Derailment, but I didn’t really pay much attention to her back then. But she’s so pretty, and her eyes are beautiful. I started to really love watching her in Seven Relics of Ill Omen. All I can say is, she’s a very good actress.

Overall, I’m very satisfied with this story. Even the ending — although there was no wedding scene — it still felt complete and satisfying. I’m giving it a 9/10 because I love lightweight stories that don’t feel heavy to watch, with no toxicity and lots of longing.

The OSTs are all really good too. Especially Wang Anyu’s song — I can’t remember the title, but wow, it’s so good.

I really recommend this drama to anyone who loves lightweight romance dramas. But if you think a good romantic drama must have kissing scenes, then this drama is not for you. Please stay far away and don’t bring toxic behavior here 😌

That’s all.
Will definitely rewatch it — it’s officially on my repeat list.
