A woman of faith has a midlife crisis that causes her to question some of the most important facets of her life in this drama from Japan. Sister Marie is a nun who has led a peaceful life devoted to spiritual contemplation and community work, but when she begins going through menopause, she finds herself wondering if she's made the right choices. Sister Marie suddenly can't help wishing she'd had a child, and with these feelings comes a belated awakening of her sexual appetites. Sister Marie is a gifted pianist who sometimes helps out at a local ballet school, playing for the accompaniment of the students, and she develops a powerful infatuation with a handsome dance teacher. As the nun and the dancer struggle with their feelings for one another and the potential consequences, Sister Marie also becomes acquainted with two other men, one of whom will change her life through a violent betrayal.
