Seo Joon is perfection and this show ruined me

Seo Joon...My beautiful, cute, unique, sweet, loveable, kind, at times fierce, cool, handsome, hot, emotional, impulsive, stubborn, delicate bipolar flower I love you so much. Arrgh this character is perfect with all of his imperfections. He is a dedicated man with an honest heart. You deserve everything. You deserve love, respect, and goodhearted people like you. You deserve all the happiness in the world. My baby girl, my sweet angel. I want to squeeze you till you suffocate. You did nothing wrong. Of course, nobody is perfect and the important thing is to try to correct our wrongs. To expect someone to behave only in our way, only as we please, the only way we think is correct is so wrong. In love, every party should compromise some things in order to exist together. It's not a one-way ticket. It takes two to love.
Plus beautiful side characters and stories. Best manager and boss of all time. I love all of them.

Highly needed as this answered the questions left in S1

I think this is that sequel that is way better than the original. It was painful and made me cry and mad so many times, but for me, this sequel was necessary to help us understand what the characters were feeling. It gave us more background about Jiwoo and Seojun's past. It shows us how relationships are in real life. No relationship is perfect, that at some point, someone will break and hurt. Also, I think this sequel made Seojun and Jiwoo stronger as an individual and as a couple. The break-up was needed so they wouldn't be in a relationship that'll only hurt them more in the future.

I'm not justifying what Jiwoo did, but as someone who feels what he went through, I completely understand where he was coming from. I'm not going to deny that he was a j*rk for doing that to Seojun (you hurt us so deep, Han Jiwoo!), but what he went through was no joke too. One more thing that makes me less mad at him is when if you squint really hard, you'd appreciate the small details he did that shows how he loved and still loves Seojun and how he deeply worries for him. And Seojun, our shining star Kang Seojun, he did not deserve that (no one does), but his love for Jiwoo was so deep that he's willing to do anything to bring him back.

Kang Seojun and Han Jiwoo are each other's oxygen, so watching them apart was so suffocating.

All in all, this ended up being my favorite BL and favorite series/drama overall (personal favorite!!). The actors and actresses ate their roles tbh. I love the main leads' chemistry. It was overflowing (especially in episode 10. I love my domestic seojiwoo). The plot was really great. I love how this focused more on the plot than the intimate scenes. The editing between the flashbacks and the present? Flawless! The music used were so fitting (I will forever cry over The Universe and Every Single Moment). This is now one of my comfort webseries. I hope you try and give this a chance because you won't regret watching it. Definitely a 1000/10 to me.

EDIT: I've seen comments about how weak Jiwoo's apology was and that Seojun shouldn't have accepted it right away or at all. IT WAS NOT! S1 Jiwoo has expressed his jealousy about how Seojun can easily express himself to anyone. Expressing yourself loudly is hard for people like us. This is not something you can just fix overnight or in a few days. It takes so much energy and effort to speak our thoughts out, and I think Seojun knows that. That's why Jiwoo expressing himself to him and finally taking the first step to fixing their broken relationship was enough for Seojun to forgive Jiwoo.

This is not your typical fluffy and sweet BL. It won't make your heart flutter in a good way. This is not for the softhearted. This k-bl will not spoon feed you, but will make you think about what happened, what's happening and what's gonna happen next. This is a series where you should focus seriously on everything that's happening, for you to understand the characters and events. This was realistically well-written and it makes it a great series.

A truly magnificent star, a masterpiece that pierced and enlightened my soul. I'm obsessed!

To My Star 2: Our Untold Stories,

The first thing I would like to say is that I absolutely loved it. I anticipate taking a very long time to get over this irreplaceable drama. You have no idea how much time, emotion, and energy I expended while watching this. It was a real roller coaster feeling. I don't think I've ever been more obsessed with drama than I am right now. I'm confident that everyone gave it their all—their very best efforts, extraordinary feelings, exceptional time, and everything they had to produce a successful performance and unique plot that will be witnessed by many. I am so overwhelmed and grateful to each and every one of you that I am at a loss for words. Thank you so much. Every moment I spend with you will always be etched in my mind. You already played a significant role in my life, which I will cherish forever.

I feel like I'm in tears because I really fell in love with the kisses, the sweet moments, the small talk, the cinematography and the soundtracks that go with it. It was truly incredible. I really appreciate it all. In spite of my desire to extend this speech—by which I mean this letter, I want to save it for another day. I may want to keep a journal or diary for this. They may think I'm crazy or whatever, but doing this is how I find comfort in sharing what's on my mind. This serves as an instrument for my own escapism, reality escape, or simply bittersweet escape.

My dear Kim Sang min, whom I love... I'm still on the verge of remembering all of the wonderful times you shared with oppa Son Woo hyun in the drama. Because of how good you are at acting, I probably forgot that you were acting at times because it seemed like you were just being yourself. If I were to give you an award, I'd say you're the best actor overall and perhaps even more. You should receive many more honors and blessings in life. I'm sorry I didn't find you sooner. But now that we've had this drama, I'm even happier to have met you. I'm still on a journey with you, watching all of your other projects, interviews, and anything else I can to support you. Even though I'm a new and unspoken supporter, I hope my words will reach you. I'm hoping you and Son Woo hyun will work on a lot of projects in the future. You're the best, my love.

Son Woo hyun, my one and only star... I still have a huge smile on my face right now, I've just finished watching your drama with oppa Kim Sang min. It's just too beautiful, I'm speechless at this point even though I have a million things to say. It was such an invigorating and exhilarating atmosphere for me. It really drives me crazy, I feel like I'm with you throughout the scene. You and oppa Sang min have the most accurate and natural chemistry, so at times I feel as though I am invading your privacy. I had to pause the video to breathe properly because I was out of breath watching you. I feel butterflies in my stomach, excited, happy and so much more. Your role was so perfect for you and also for oppa Sang Min. I have nothing more to ask. You really nailed it! I will do my best to reach you from afar and continue to support you even in the simplest way. Until then, see you soon from another realm, my star.

My beloved actors, I miss you so bad already. Welcome to my life. Let's get through this together. Fighting!

One of the best BL

Wow, after all roller coster emotion this series ended as a happy ending. XD... They just break a year and there are so many things happened. I really enjoyed this season 2 but season 1 is a wholesome for me. Not a top tier story but a one of the best in my honest opinion.

Story: It's cliché but still enjoyable to watch to be honest. 10/10

Acting: wow, I don't feel cringe at all watching them and they have chemistry together. T.T
Music: I don't know, I just enjoyed everything 10/10

Rewatch value: 6/10

Am I going to recommend this? Yes it maybe not a cup of tea of everyone but just give it a try. : ))

Tells the more serious side of a relationship

I just finished watching this drama and let me tell you how hard broken I was in the beginning by the fact that they broke up. I really, really wanted Jiwoo to have a good reason for basically ghosting Seojun. Since I was really mad about it at first. But as the story continued, we all began to know the reasons behind his choice. Some people might not think that his reason was good enough, but feeling lonely is the worst.

I see a lot of fans who are not quite satisfied with this season and more with season one. I think that both seasons were good, they just showed an entire different story and side of their relationship. Season one told a more cute story, whereas season 2 told the more serious side of their relationship. It's good to know for watchers that a relationship doesn't always go the way we want it to go. I do want to point out that I think the actors worked really hard on their performance, since I really noticed a difference and development in their acting as well as their chemistry. I might as well say that I believe the second season was even better than the first season. Which is a hard thing to do, cause most seasons 2 of dramas are quite disappointing. Luckily, this one wasn't. I even believe that there could easily be a season 3!

Also, I REALLY want to point out how beautifully edited and directed this drama was. Without that, I really think I would've enjoyed this way less. Thank you for your hard work!

So if you're wondering whether to watch this or not, please do as me and many others loved it. And hopefully you will too. Get your tissues ready because your eyes won't stay dry. And please enjoy many cute moments that are about to come your way!

What happened in a relationship when opposites attract and worlds collide?

Completed - 7/4/2022 - 8.75

I didn't know I needed a second season after "To My Star". I watched the movie version of season 1, thus, those short 15-min episodes did not feel as disjointed and I liked it fine. Here comes season 2 and I am glad the episodes are longer and we are treated to 10 episodes. The longer format allows for better storytelling and more developed side characters.

Oftentimes, dramas end with what happened in season 1 - two individuals from very different worlds meet and fall in love. We like opposite attracts stories, and they always end with happily-ever-after. But what happened afterwards when you are in a relationship and the initial honeymoon phase is over? "To My Star 2" is giving us a pretty honest and realistic view of what happens next.

This drama started with Ji Woo disappearing with just a simple break up note, and Seo Joon is devastated. Even after a year, Seo Joon has not given up hope and is still looking for him. There's a lot of angst this time around and not a whole lot of cute and fluffy scenes. Emotions are raw and real. I keep on waiting to find out why Ji Woo would suddenly disappear. He must have a good reason to do that, right? Some might think his reasons are uncalled for and coming out from nowhere, as there has never been any indication that he was unhappy in his relationship. But if you think from his point of view, and take into account of his personality and past history, you could understand why he feels a certain way. Being thrust into a world of happiness and the world of a top star can be disorienting, and he's very lost. But thank goodness, his opposite is someone who doesn't give up and tries to get him back over and over again.

I really enjoy Son Woo Hyun's acting as Seo Joon. I think he did quite a good job in portraying all the different emotions. Unfortunately, I think Kim Kang Min's acting needs some improvement. His portrayal of Ji Woo in the initial episodes is quite bland. There isn't a lot of emotions when he first reunited with Seo Joon. Just a blank face. I do think he improves in the later episodes.

We are introduced to a few new side characters: Ji Woo's ex-girlfriend, old neighbor and the young daughter. I think they are much better side characters than those in season 1. I also enjoyed all the songs played and thank goodness they were not overplayed.

I guess my main criticism of this drama is Ji Woo's realization that he wants to go back to Seo Joon. He's been holding out for so long, what changed? Is it because Seo Joon finally stop trying? Is it because he couldn't get a hold of Seo Joon and is suddenly scared that he would never see him again? Why is his break over? I am not sure why. I find his realization and reconciliation with Seo Joon a little too fast. However, I don't have a problem with Seo Joon's final decision, just wish it wasn't so instantaneous.

I am giving this drama a rare 9.0 because I was moved by their story. An extra bump from 8.75 to 9.0 because I enjoy those two passionate kisses. LOL.

a beautifully depicted love between two unperfect people

!! I'm giving a rough outline, but won't give any specific spoilers !!

I was really excited for a second season, so I am glad that it didn't disappoint. It's a very angsty season for the reason that we watch our main couple push each other away and hurting each other for 8 episodes. But man, I am a sucker for angst.

The production of this season felt a lot better than the first one. The quality visually and in acting was something I am honestly not used to from BLs. Son Woo Hyun and Kim Kang Min have incredible chemistry that they got to show off even better in this season. There was not a single doubt in my mind that these two characters love each other. I gave half a point off because Kim Kang Min has to work on his crying. He tried so hard but not a single tear in sight...

Also, the side characters introduced made the show enjoyable and gave us the emotional break between all the angst. I'm a huge fan of the little girl and her mother. Girl powerr, let's gooo!

Now, for the storyline of this season: I love it. We get to learn more about Ji Woo and his personality and about his fears in this relationship. Maybe it's because I can relate to Ji Woo, that I can understand his actions this season and understood how much he must've been hurting inside. We learn more about the dynamic the couple has had and what kind of emotional labour both of them had to do and see them trying to resolve their problems in each their own way. Too bad they are the complete opposites.
I do wish they would've spent more time to resolve Ji Woo's fears, to make him work on and overcome them and properly communicate them with Seo Jun. I felt like that resolve fell a little short.

As you can tell, this season is an emotional one. You are rooting for the main characters to break through to each other and finally open up completely. But oh my god, I loved the burn.

To my KSJ & HJW, thank you for a star-studded journey on fulfilling their own universe in life

An unforgettable drama that established the undying chemistry and notable performance/character of Son Woo Hyun as Kang Seo Jun and Kim Kang Min as Han Ji Woo. The first season was definitely a great one but this season performed in a more serious plot that brings a certain amount of devastating warmth but is absolutely amazing.

I personally enjoyed this season given the angst and conflict between them. The sudden one-sided break-up initiated by Han Ji Woo as the center of the story does really create a huge impact on the audience. There is no doubt that Kang Seo Joon’s feeling is as sincere as sunlight. Even being ghosted for a year, especially on his birthday, our boy keeps on trying to save their relationships the moment he already finds out HJW's location. His efforts of traveling to a long place, helping the restaurant business by gathering customers, and spending his busy schedule just to keep on pushing HJW. All of these prove how much love KSJ has for his boy. But when Seo Jun said this line, “Why is he so harsh to me?” I couldn’t help it anymore and tears began to fall. This is so heartbreaking! To witness a man who still has feelings lingering inside him with the questionable reason behind his ex-partner’s decision on leaving him alone. And each time KSJ mentioned the breakup, it is always in question. Real pain.

There came a point when I started to feel hate towards Ji Woo. Witnessing Seo Jun suffer is such an unbearable sight. But as the story progresses and explains that he had a tough time battling against himself alone. Han Ji Woo used to love his loneliness alone but the moment he met Seo Jun, he couldn't bear being alone anymore. Even HJW hated himself for his own attitude, unable to fully control it.

In each episode, I just badly want them to be together since it was tremendously painful to see. The take on HJW’s restaurant name “Ti Aspetto'' when translated, it means “I am waiting for you.” Also, the lyrics of the OSTs are truly related to the couple. In one episode, KSJ sang a song in a happy beat but with lyrics indirectly telling HJW’s ex-GF to leave his partner alone and that was so funny. Son Woo Hyun's singing voice is as alluring and fascinating as his speaking voice. The man showers in a pure variety of talents. Actually, I genuinely had a fun time with HJW's ex-partners bickering with each other on who knows HJW the best. The cleverness to connect all of these to the storyline is beyond great. But the most fulfilling part is when they finally connect their love story to the star and the universe during the finale.

The phenomenal kiss is the trademark of the show. Both S1 and S2 never fail to amaze me when it comes to intimate, emotional, and sensational kissing scenes. Along with the bonus of the captivating sounds, you can hear when they’re eating each other's lips. No other K-BL can beat these two.

If season 3 is possible, I will fully support it! I just love these dramas so much. The one and only episode where they finally got their happy ending is enough to satisfy me from the agonizing experience in the previous episodes. Such a remarkable and beautiful ending. I can now proudly say that To My Star is certainly one of the well-produced K-BLs as of now. The lovely cast, the fine distribution of scripts, and the top-tier chemistry along with their god-tier excellency in both visuals and acting. Thank you so much for bringing joy, tears, and smiles to my heart. Once again, I believed that true love exists just like how Kang Seo Jun and Han Ji Woo find their own universe on each other's side.

not expected

i was so happy when this released but the whole ji woo leaving for no reason would never be my first thought, i guess it adds a sense of realism where not all couples will be happy but i think its really portraying ji woos "real side" i mean i keep telling myself hes not actually like this but what if? anyways i hope ji woo figures out his mind, he better have a better reason to why he did all of this because this isnt acceptable behavior. seo joon on the other hand just makes me depressed and at the end of ep 4 i really thought things were getting better just to find out ji woo was being ignorant again. the whole element of him seeing his ex again is kind of unsettling, but i guess its not his fault. the confession at the end of ep 6 made it look like she still liked him and he liked her back however i hope he says something like "i already like someone else" or ill cry. overall i think the acting is amazing and i still beleive in them so lets hope ji woo makes up his mind and goes back to seo joon. ❤

I kept pushing away myself to watch this series at the beginning, since I heard a lot of bad reviews around. Now, I'm regret it.

This season is the sequel that I've been looking for this kind of series. I thought they're gonna be full of cringe moments like we've seen in many Asian (specifically Thai) series. But To My Star 2 proved me wrong beautifully. They made me cry from the very beginning.

I read many reviews that saying about the absurd moment in the last episode. But you know what? I've been there. I had a lover (I don't want to say any specific gender :D) then we separated for 3 years without any kind of communication. We did follow each other instagram, but did not have any interaction. Then they (He/she) came back to me without saying sorry (and I didn't say anything either). We just made appointment, we met, we kissed, we hugged and said we miss each other badly.

We didn't care at that time that any of us has a lover. We just got back like a flash. Like nothing happened for the last three years. Of course I asked they (She/he) where they went, but that's it.

So for me. That kind of bullshit that you were talking about, is absolutely possible.

Masterpiece

This is so heartbreaking. "Don't we all have the burden we created, and have to struggle with?" This is a translated line, and I am sure the original line is likely even better. This sequel is miles better than the first season. I wonder if they always had this in mind, because it is amazing.

I think this show reflects the mood of a lot of people in late 20s, 30s that don't have the lives they planned. You spend years thinking back about the decisions you made, with regrets. I personally definitely have them.
I think all the characters are written so well. The old people with their stubbornness. How bluntly rude they are. Remind me of older people in my family. I think I have known pretty much every character in this show, personally. This is so beautifully written & directed.

This is not a traditional BL. This is why I think some people are critical. It is honestly like one of those movies that have had so much heart put into them. But that don't make for a lighthearted viewing. I personally cannot think of any way this could be improved, it is too perfect. The portrayal of mental health issues is also so well done. You really cannot tell what is going on in somebody's life. The lighting, the way they speak, subtle references. Everything is so beautifully done. Gosh. I am sure at least some people involved in this have suffered depression at some point. If not, the empathy is amazing. I think a lot of decisions taken by characters in this show won't make sense to some people.. But when your mind isn't in the right place, when you been hurt, you really do make stupid choices. I really love Han Yoo Ha's character & her mother. They really bring hope and positivity in the show.

This is a beautifully written story about real life. This could have been about any two people, their gender is remarkably not the main focal point. But then it is unspoken and there is the background anyway. Not to mention that this show would have been globally acclaimed if it was about a straight couple. This is so beautifully shot, and so painful at times that I have had to pause myself between episodes..
I have only finished episode 6 and have had to pause to write this review. Because I am so emotional about it.

I think this is definitely a very mature story, very well written. The cinematography, the soundtrack, the clothes, everything is perfect. You can tell the staff put their heart in it. Very well done. watch it when you have time to think about your life. Because this is definitely not binge & forget about it story. This is like a once in a lifetime show for the staff/actors. You rarely see such stuff created on TV/movies. I am so glad I live in a time where I get to watch something like this.

The performance of the actors BTW is amazing. Just watch it, you will know what I mean. Just watch it.
it gets better and more intense every episode. I have finished it now. And I am so glad i stumbled across this one. It was such an experience. The editing is absolutely amazing. I loved the finale as well. It is unbelievable that they managed a satisfactory wrap up to this. Bless these people who made this masterpiece.
