Takamine, a salaryman who was assigned to an island in the Yaeyama Islands for a resort development job due to the sudden accidental death of his predecessor. He decides to get familiar with the life of the island first because he wants to develop the resort with the consent of the residents. Takamine, who became friends with the islanders because of his efforts, also fell in love with Takako, the daughter of the island's chief.
