Shin Ah, who grew up as an illegitimate child, visits her father after her mother passes away. Her father, Kang, accepts Shin Ah into the family. But when her step-sister's cold shoulder behaviour becomes intolerable, she runs away from the house. She meets Dong Ho who becomes her companion and ends up becoming pregnant with his child. But soon after, Dong Ho meets a car accident and survives. Shortly after their child's birth, Dong Ho leaves without saying anything. Throughout the pregnancy and after her child's birth, Shin Ah faces a lot of problems while raising the child on her own. She meets Kang Il, falls in love, and marries him. But Kang Il secretly sends her child, whom he thought of as an obstacle to their marriage, to a foster care.
