The story was set in the 1930’s, starting with the bitter conflict between two towns over the Qinghe River. To make peace, Zhao Shi Jun agreed to give up his true love Shen Xin Ci and marry the gentle Qiu Ling. His decision led to tragedy and formed a web of love and hate that threatened to destroy the next generation.
