Aesthetically pleasing and comfort one-sided-love trope

This epic slow burn romance is such a comfort zone. I feel like I've been wrapped in a comfy cotton blanket.

The rhythm of the story is like walking on tiptoes. The one that doesn't give an alarming vibe but instead calming as the story moves smoothly.

Ep 1 was plain and I didn't really get the chemistry between the leads. It's starting to get interesting at ep. 3, I can feel their strong bond. By the end of ep. 4 I felt connected to the story. It was painful and beautiful. Like I had an unrequited love and the feeling lingered with me.

In the end, we can understand why the man lead did what he did. Because his love is unconditionally.

I like that they make it short. It's perfect this way. It doesn't feel dragged or too long, just enough of proportion.

Friends or Lovers

Short and sweet

Likes
1. "Best friends turned lovers" is my second fave trope. I loved best friends Sunwoo and Eunsoo and their relationship. Han Sohee/Eunsoo is so pretty, I cant imagine how Sunwoo didnt do anything after being friends for 19 years. Likewise, I cant believe Eunsoo didnt see how great Sunwoo is to her or that he has been in love with her for years. I guess sometimes being friends for too long one can forget or dont realize what they have until it's gone.
2. 4 episodes at 45mins per episode made this easy to binge watch at one go.
3 i also loved the overall vibe, the clothes, the setting, the house, the colors.
4. Park Hyung Sik plays almost similar role to his role in Happiness, which is the best guy friend who pines for his pretty best friend for years.
5. My fave scenes are when they slept side by side, when Sunwoo left for the army and Eunsoo broke down in tears, when Sunwoo asked Wooil if Eunsoo enjoyed the wine, when Eunsoo cried after Sunwoo leaves on a bus, and the flower shop scene when they met again.

Dislikes
1. I loved the songs but I thought there were too many songs and not one made a huge impact. I also expected that we will get to hear Eunsoo's songs for Jayjun and Taeyoon but we didnt hear them at all.
2. The editing for some scenes are abrupt and the music gets cut off.
3. We spent 3 eps seeing Sunwoo in love with Eunsoo but only one with Eunsoo. Wished they added an extra 30 mins so we could have seen her side.

Rating: 8.5/10

Short & Simple yet Heartwarming

"Soundtrack #1" - 9/10
It's a feel-good drama series. The storyline is quite short & simple yet so cute & heartwarming. It shows a one-sided affection that can leave us feeling of love, pain, attraction, infatuation, care, jealousy, grief and shy. The hasitation of 'unrequited love of best-friends' who are together for almost 19-20 years is clearly shown. As seeing 3 ep. Sunwoo in love with Eunsoo but only 1 ep. with Eunsoo. I wish we could have seen her side. The cinematography create the romantic ambience, made it realistic, full of emotions and very entertaining. I like how they align the bonus tracks. Seo In-guk as JayJun special appearance is nice. The ML & FL look perfect together! You can binge watch.

The music and soundtracks really made the ambience.

The only drawback is its too short, not at all rushed but only 4 epidodes, wanted too see bit more.😞 =-1

I will definitely recommend it. 👍

Short Friends to Lovers with a Hint of Music

- Classic friends to lovers trope with a lyricist and photographer
- Unrequited love trope (eventually on both sides)
- Tells a pretty complete love story in just 4 episodes (with a few "bonus tracks")
- Loved the confession scene (ep 4); added .5 star just for that
- There is a 2ML of sorts, but is quickly resolved
- Main pitfall is that it is too short; I wanted to see more of their life as a couple, how they navigate their now successful professional lives and more music (given that the title is Soundtrack #1)

If your best friend looks like Han So-Hee you too would fall in love.

"Best Friends to Lovers" trope portrayed in a way that doesn't make you cringe. It's everything you expect and as predictable as they come.

Its a web series that knows what it is, knows what it wants to achieve and doesn't re-invent the genre. It ticks all the right boxes and does it well. Will it leave you speechless? No. Will it leave you wanting more? No. By the first few minutes you know exactly how it will playout and what character archetypes it will have.

It's as predictable as they come yet it managed to be enjoyable and charming series. What really helps this show is that its only 4 episodes long at 45min each episode. Nothing is overly played out, its straight to the point and has almost no sub plots. It truly focuses on its two protagonists and their relationship.

I recommend it to anyone looking for a quick binge or anyone waiting for a series to come out and need something to watch in the meantime.

I wish it would have been longer

They went all out with the aesthetics for this one! It was a beautiful looking drama (kinda reminiscent of the soft, dreamy feel of Love Alarm and Nevertheless) and with a ridiculously good looking main couple.

Super chill vibes and quite interesting use of silence and pauses, both with the music cutting out at pivotal moments and also letting the characters reflect in moments of quiet that somehow made them more poignant. Which, if you consider this show is all about music, from the name to the plot, using sound in such an understated way to enhance the storytelling was such a smart choice.

Sweet Drama

Not much needs to be said about this drama. It is a short, sweet story.
Here it is shown very clearly what it is like to have a one-sided love for a very long time and what friendship really means.
In this drama we see how both characters suffer and in the end we get exactly what we want to see. They confess their feelings to each other and become happy.. And that's exactly what you can expect from this drama. It is not meant to be complicated.

I liked this drama and the actors did a good job. It fulfills exactly what I wanted to see. That's why this drama gets 10 stars from me.

The best kdrama to watch to unwind at the end of the day

It’s short, concise, cute and warm. We like it. The story wasn’t forced, felt very natural; I’m extremely glad that the writer didn’t drag the story to make it longer with a mountain of misunderstandings like others do. I mainly watched this to unwind at the end of the day after studying 12 hours and let me tell you it’s been literally a hug before sleeping. I really really recommend this if you’re into short friends-to-lovers stories <3
The music was chef’s kiss, i feel like I’ll be listening to the OST on loop on Spotify just to remember and feel the cozy vibes of this drama. Thank you directors!

I am a sucker for friends-turned-lovers type of drama and this one certainly fits the bill. Soundtrack #1 tells the story of Eun Soo, a struggling lyricist trying to come up with meaningful words to accompany a song but she comes up short. The lack of emotional depth that she uses in her lyrics was the main issue according to the music producer. She believes this is the case because she hasn't experienced a love strong enough to conjure up those feelings (or so she thought). Meanwhile, her best friend of twenty years Sun Woo is the epitome of unrequited love, pining for Eun Soo in ways that everyone notices except for the oblivious target.

I almost did not recognize Park Hyung Sik from SWDBS as he broods quietly on the sideline, while Song Hye Kyo's doppelganger Han So Hee is decent as the object of his affections. I also liked the fact that the production team used music and imagery to reflect the different stages of the MCs' relationship. Alternatively, this isn't a drama that needed a whole thesis deconstructing the plot devices or in person narratives due to its short length. It is meant to be enjoyed as it is, a bittersweet journey of two people finally finding love after two decades.

Short, Sweet and Heartwarming: A True Best Friends to Lovers

I did not expect this story to be this good.
The credit goes to the whole team who worked on this drama. The acting, the music, the likeable and mature characters, the heartwarming atmosphere are all the reasons I recommend this kdrama to anyone who just want to relax and watch a sweet kdrama.
I really love the main leads. Their friendship which always had that love is just too sweet and the supporting characters are also surprisingly well done.
A Short story when done right can manage to get everything just right and this kdrama is one such story.

Wholesome

I just love it - it is to watch and watch again. Feel good, short and sweet and wholesome drama with a clear theme developing through the 4 episodes. Well suited casting for roles and support roles- believable characters were their silences meant 1000 words. Heartfelt mini series with relevant music and titles for each episodes. I wish I could have seen more of them - main characters, however in 4 episodes, the writers, director and actors succeeded to brilliantly bring up to life this unrequited love theme drama. I would recommend this mini-series as a healing, optimistic and satisfying drama.

Most Rewatchable Drama There Is!

I don't like to complain about clichés, rather if those clichés were used properly to begin with. The writing, acting, chemistry, OST, visuals and camera work are some of the best I have seen on the small screen or big screen! The leads did a phenomenal job of bringing the characters to life. You truly feel real empathy for Sun Woo and Eun Soo. The love story was extremely realistic, pure and sensitive.

I may be biased since I love the season, but being set in Winter gave the show an element of warmth that other seasons wouldn't have been able to. You simply want the two main characters to embrace each other when the climate is the most harsh outdoors.

Praise should also be directed at the secondary storyline of following one's dreams. They perfectly managed to inspire me to work hard for my dreams and to also uplift and support those around me with huge goals as well.

My only complaints are that we have no idea where Sun Woo's tarot card ended up and that Eun Soo's mother was never on camera for us to see how she reacted to the news of them ending up together. I loved the mom after completely saving Sun Woo from an embarrassing moment earlier in the show. It was the perfect way to teach the viewers a lesson in being considerate.

I highly recommend this to everyone! It being only 4 episodes gives this show a unique charm, plus it aids in boosting it's rewatchability and how it can be a great recommendation for a friend who might be new to k-dramas but doesn't want to invest time into a 12-16 episode show. Enjoy!
