This entire show's charm is the same as the one Studio Ghibli movies have. The tendency to just let the characters breath. Do their own stuff while taking in their surroundings. Truly seeing the person you love, in the solitude of each other. I find being secured and comfortable in the presence of someone much more romantic than flashy acts of love tbh. Not to mention, the constant pull towards nature and quietly being enamored with it is also such a nice detail. When you're in love, you want to experience the beauty of the world together. šŸ©·

BEST KOREAN BL OUT THERE

I never write reviews, but with this one i just had to. This is by far the best korean bl i've ever seen! The story is so real and raw and the actors feel so real in this one. Also the chemistry was absolutly amazing!!! I also loved all the side characters.

I really hope other Korean BL's learn something from this but i reall think that this one is always going to be unique.

It really was perfect all the way through. I loved every second of it.

The soundtrack is also amazing and the intro always made me feel something šŸ«¶šŸ»

I donā€™t think many people understand how important the eighth sense is. This is not just a typical bl show. bringing out mental health awareness, trauma and normalising therapy from professionals. And their messages..Iā€™ll be forever thankful for the whole team. the characters are so well portrayed, jaewon holding on to life and jihyunā€™s maturity is also so comforting to see.

I just also wanted to praise our Jisub for being such a good actor. Just wanted to inform you that you won my heart. Thank you so much for making jaewon came to life. Hoping to see more of your acting.

All in all the cinematography, the plot, the chemistry, the acting all I can say is wow CHEF KISS

Not your average BL

For once this BL Kdrama was unique and entertaining. It just felt like a regular show about two people falling in love and facing life together. It was nice to watch the leads falling in love and overcoming their personal obstacles. The side characters weren't annoying and added value to the overall story of the drama. You rooted for the main couple not because of the sexual tension the director built but because you genuinely felt their love for one another and how they cared for each other. It was nice to see some passionate kissing with really good cinematography. Overall if you want to watch a good BL with a story and away from the BL stereotypes I would recommend this!

1000% WOULD RECOMMEND

HONESTLY THE FIRST BL I HAVE LOVEEEEED SOOOO MUCH!!!!
It was a really intresting story. I really liked the cliffhanger in the middle of the story.(It was soo sad it left me crying for an hour or two)
The cinematography was ON POINT. The lightning changes when a character was sad/depressed or cheerful.
The acting was very good. The chemistry was SOOOOO good.

I loved that that they showed how trauma could effect someones WHOLE life and relationships.
Especially they showed therapy and that he actually wanted help and got it. I love when shows show good sides of therapy because it could save someones life.

I would rewatch it thousands of times and honestly will.
I have recommended it to many of my friends that don't usually watch romance stuff and even they have LOVED it.

So so sooooo good I will never stop talking about it.

~ Sometimes you find a gem like this ~

With difficulties finding a good drama these days, it was a surprise with this production. The story was well written and had depth. What I loved most about the drama was its well rounded characters. I can't applaud more for how they showed the day to day life of the leads without making it boring and draggy.

The two leads character was well written and executed. The chemistry between them made sense and I could really feel their emotions. Ji Hyun was a simple down to earth boy who knew when to stand up for himself and was adventurous. I liked the people around him and their conversations. The scenes with his bff, Ae ri, restaurant ahjumma and even small moments like him sending pics to his mom about his day to day life felt wholesome.
Jae Won was the life of the party and people loved around being him. He was attractive to the core. And just like not everything that shines is gold, he did carry a lot of emotional baggage from the past. There were so much to peel from his character. Especially the talk around maintaining one's image was fascinating. How often the pressure of having to maintain an image can get to you. I understood him with my whole heart. His equation with Yoon Won was so adorable and I am so happy they explored their friendship with them drinking & chatting stuff.

Mental health issues were dealt in a decent way though I was not really fond of the scenes with the doctor. I haven't experience counselling irl but it felt depressing to hear the doctor talk. SPOILER ALERT*** For example talking about how sad it is when her patients chose to end their life was not something to be discussed to a patient who almost lost his lover's life *** SPOILER ENDS

The chemistry was uff AMAZING. I feel so giddy watching the romance and I don't feel like this in other dramas.

With all praises there were few nitpicks from my end, one being the camera angle. In most of the heavy scenes, the camera was literally closed up on the face of the actors, blocking out other people talking or any background due to which it felt claustrophobic. Editing could have been better but it wasn't bad to spoil the drama for me. It was a pleasurable watch and totally recommended !

P.S. Im Ji Sub playing Jae Won reminded me of Lee Joon Ki and Lee Do Hyun so much. In so many scenes i felt i was watching them.!!

definitely a must watch

**contains mild spoilers, read at ur own risk!**
note: this is a very messy, definitely biased, unedited review. i am by no means a professional writer or even a good writer at that, so forgive me for my messy train of thought and poor wording.

honestly, i don't think words will ever be able to express how i feel about this show. if i could give it more than ten stars based solely on my enjoyment and the impact it had on me, then i 100% would.
the cinematography resembles that of a film that exists solely for aesthetics, and i mean that in the best way possible. visually, it was such a nice contrast compared to other bl's, which are often bright and bold, as opposed to dark and pretty, like this one is. on top of the visuals, the story is incredibly heartbreaking. it touches on subjects such as depression, grief, trauma, suicide, and *slight* survivors guilt. each subject evokes an emotion in me that i can only describe as suffering. maybe it's because i can relate to it, or maybe it's because these topics were so well done that i couldn't help but feel what the characters were feeling. this drama reaches directly into the heart and pulls on it's strings.
despite all of this, it still manages to make a painfully sweet love story, that has a perfect balance of fluff and angst, making it feel much more real than any other drama i've watched. this drama truly goes above and beyond: no stereotypes, no clichƩ, just two people falling in love and saving each other. it's just real.

i really appreciate the use of music in this show. in contrast to many other kdramas, theres not much background music. in high tension, important scenes, theres almost always no added background sound. thinking about it now, i don't think there was music playing during ANY scene with dialogue, which personally, i like way better than too much background music. it makes it feel much more authentic, more vulnerable. additionally, having the turning point fold over because of a conan gray song is literally so real and the song choice was perfect for jihyun and jaewon's story. i also especially liked the song that played during the montage of their trip together, i can't lose it all by ben goldstein.

as for the story line, the reason of the -0.5 rating is because of the odd jumps and unresolved sections. most of these things are small, but i found it odd how they never talked about their very first kiss together, even if jaewon didn't remember it. it just seems like something that should've been mentioned. on top of that, they didn't talk about jaewon ghosting jihyun either. this could be blamed on the fact that jihyun understood why jaewon did that, but i feel that for complete viewership understanding, this should've been talked about or at least mentioned. because this review is based solely on my enjoyment throughout the show, i'm only removing 0.5 from the story because it didn't really affect my enjoyment of the show, just made me tilt my head a little!

i'm not going to write much about the acting, as i feel it was very well done and i was never cringing at how bad it was. i just wanted to add that i'm so impressed with oh juntaek! he absolutely killed this role and the fact that it's his very first acting gig is so impressive!

overall, i'd recommend this show to anybody and everybody. it's absolutely incredible. definitely going high on my list of favorite dramas.

changed my life

This show was so amazing. It really stands out from other shows I've watched within this drama and I loved how different it felt. Not only was the show angsty and painful, it held the most heartwarming, wholesome ending as well. The cinematography was also a wonderful bonus. I loved the way the entire show was set up, who the characters were and how they changed throughout the show. I truly appreciated the beauty behind the film, the actors, all of the characters personalities and the scrip. The entire show as a whole just felt so raw and beautiful. The actors didn't feel like actors, and it displayed the hardships the characters would face and there wasn't any fan service- type feel to it either. They were simply two guys in college. I truly recommend this show.

a Masterpiece

Thereā€™s only a few shows that made me feel this way before. That devastated and as if thereā€™s a lump in your throat kind of feeling.
The moment I started this show, I knew this was gonna hit me deep. The literal intro with the waves made me already emotional. And even though the storyline isnā€™t that ā€˜uniqueā€™, it gives off a complete different vibe from what Iā€™ve ever seen close to this.
The actors did a good job, I really didnā€™t notice any flaws in their acting. The actors and the characters they play match very well together and have insane chemistry. I literally didnā€™t notice any flaws in general and maybe that shows just how fully Iā€™m into the show and for me thatā€™s the most important part. Everything feels just so realistic and I can fully live inside their world, everything feels just so complete.
The soundtrack is literal the best. I feel connected to the characters through the music. It makes me understand everything on a deeper level and has had me in tears multiple times. Iā€™ve replayed the last 10 minutes of the latest episode (ep6) again and again.
It might be a bit too early but in my eyes this series is so far, a masterpiece. I hope this series will get a proper and unforgettable ending. Itā€™s not even fully aired and it has already gotten my heart, Iā€™m captivated and will not let go anytime soon. So much love x <3

Edit:
Iā€™m just gonna say it: this show is a masterpiece. From the literal intro, a few minutes in, till the end, it had me hooked!!
The story is mostly focused on the relationship between the main leads and doesnā€™t have a big plot, however I didnā€™t get bored, not even once. I have even already rewatched it.

About the beginning, in someone elseā€™s eyes their relationship mightā€™ve been pacing too quickly, however when I rewatched it, I saw how attracted they are to each other. Itā€™s like gravity is pulling them towards each other. They actually managed to portray falling in love at first sight and slowly realizing that theyā€™re falling, perfectly, it left me stunned. Iā€™ve seen a lot of dramas and this is the first show to actually make it just perfect!

The chemistry between the two main leads is insane. As for their acting, they did amazing too. It was as if I was really there, as if I was the one feeling their emotions. I smiled when they smiled, was frustrated when they were too and cried when they cried (and cried when they didnā€™t cry). I wanna thank the screenwriters and director for making this show possible. All the other actors did a great job too. I wish to see more of them!!

Sad to say goodbye to this show, I wish I could go back to having to wait each week for the next episodes to come out. Hopefully we will get another gem soon <3
Ps: I would also recommend watching ā€œNot Meā€ if you liked this show.

People who don't know that this drama exists...I feel bad for them.

I can't stress enough how truely sad I am to know that there are people who dont know this drama exists. It bothers me because of how utterly beautiful this drama is and it deserves recognition. I truely believe this has raised the standard for the entire BL industry. It's just masterful storytelling. Every detail in this drama is amplified. The subtle movements, the light touch of fingers, and the knowing looks, is just absolutely STUNNING to see on screen. Actors Im Ji Sub and Oh Jun Taek have the ability to communicate their story with just a single look. It's such a quiet drama yet the tension and the desire between the two speak volumes. The absence of dialogue is poignant. When dialogue fails them and when words arent sufficient enough, it doesnt matter, there's no need for words as you can still feel the raw emotions as it's so overwhelming loud. This is what makes this drama unique to me. It's because of it's delivery. It's damn good acting with a damn good script. It's as simple as that yet incredibly hard to accomplish. This is my first 10 star review on MDL and not just for BLs but my first 10 star drama in general. It's that good. So if you are hesitanting, there is no need. This is the pinacle right here. I wouldnā€™t be surprised if this drama ends up picking up wins during award season.

It's a must watch!

I'm not the type to write reviews but this is soo good I feel like I need to give it a lot of support as a thanks for something this beautiful!

The chemistry is amazing, it's giving me butterflies, the ost are amazing, thanks to this drama for introducing me to wetter!

The cinematography gives a unique calming vibe to it, it feels like the nightlife to me cause nights always makes me feel calm yet alive, and this gives me just that!

It feels raw, and it feels like you're watching a real human, with real emotions like everything feels so real, and it'll makes you wants to fall in love again, it's a must watch masterpiece!

Definitely in the running for one of the best korean BL drama this year!

I love it!

This series is addictive. Honestly, you've seen the story several times in one way or another. But: Their chemistry is from another world!
To me it's the perfect love story and they are both so cute together!
The music is wonderful, as expected from Korea.
After the 4th episode this series is at least in my top 5 for this year and I'm very sure that it will not disappoint me in the next episodes.
But I suspect it will be very sad as it goes on, but of course hope for a happy ending. I'm excited!

GO, watch it!!!
