During the Yarkent Khanate, King Abdurashid encounters Amannisahan on a hunting trip and falls in love with her singing voice. He marries her as a concubine despite opposition from the ministers due to her peasant background. Years later, seeing that Amannisahan was homesick, the King allowed her to collect and reorganize the Muqam melodies scattered amongst the common people with her music teacher Umar.
