I greatly enjoyed watching how deep their loved each other from just the brief momemnts they shared with one another. They love is even grows even more beautiful once she becomes the queen. I loved the fact that they stayed loyal and strong when carring out their responsibilities (as a queen and soldier). Always knowing they boundaries despite how much they may have wished to be together. The momemnt they finally end up together is so touching and beautiful (best moment of film)
GRAPHICS: 6
Am probably right to think that film was meant to be in 3D due to the in your face effects during the fights (beside the last fight scene). Due to this the fight scenes did not look as eligent as usual bt they still managed to meet their purpose within the film.
ACTING: 9
Cho Seung Woo and Soo Ae pulled off their roles well enough that the other actors acting did not need to be great :)
MUSIC: 10
The one song in the film summarises it well

The Lady and The Swordsman
I first saw this film over a decade ago and loved it. I re-watch every few years or so. Yes it has flaws, but the relationship between the leads is warm and touching. I watched it for them and still love it to this day because they also are among the most talented Korean stars and made me love their characters. The film introduced me to Korean movies 13 years ago, and I've loved them since. For me the beauty of the film, based on history but with a romantic overlay, is its story of the young queen's devotion to duty, as well as the swordsman's devotion to honor—and protecting her. He will not leave her side, and she is equally brave and stalwart. It is the story of a woman's love of country and a swordsman's love of her. And it's achingly exquisite.

no matter how old the film , if it has the power to move you...then its a good film.
breath stopping, that's all i have to say about this movieI watched it for Jo Seung Woo and Soo Ae and this movie being so old I really wasn't expecting anything but....i mean of course there were mild issues with the direction, story writing and those abrupt cuts but like c'mon it was made in 2009
the emotional impact of this movie is so beautiful, very warm and emotional, a melancholic comfort. It almost had me crying in the end
There's one thing about old movies/dramas i really like. They use natural sounds and lights, even the makeup is so bare, no one is trying to be beautiful. It makes the story feel real. I wish film these days would bring that element back.
Anyways, the ending was really moving....And both Soo Ae and Jo Seung Woo are amazing amazing actors, i really felt their characters. No one could've played the characters better than this. No one.
Even if the story was remade today under a better director, i still would want Soo Ae and Jo Seung Woo to be the lead again.
no matter how old the film and however the quality, if it has the power to move you...then its a good film.
