THE MAIN LEADS

So far I've watched 3 episodes and I can say it indeed brought a 2016 touch to it..why? Ig the leads are way too compatible. They simply just look sooo good with each other that despite those cliche you'd still love it and it's too early to say anything bout the story yeah so far it's going great. If you want something that will refresh your mind during your boring and busy schedule..this is for you..a temporary escape to the idealistic world..you'd enjoy it. but yeah if you want something out of the world with entirely new concept then this might be disappointing because I think the basic plot is similar to what we've already seen but if you wanna reminisce the old glory of kdramas, the feeling you had when you started watching kdramas..this is definitely for you

A fluffy romance with work in the centre...but where was HR????

This is one of the most hyped dramas of the year with the main leads being Yoona and Junho who both are talanted idols turned actors. The drama is mostly centered on romance in the workplace and has some comedy here and there. The main couple come to have really good, healthy communication. It is a modern cute version of a fairytale cinderella story of the happy, hardworking sunshine-y girl-next-door meets grumpy knight in shining armour prince/chaebol. There will be various clichés throughout the whole story, and this really is a drama to watch if you want something rom-com without heavy plot.

There were some plotpoints that irked me.
- Firstly, the whole story about the arabian prince and his visit felt weird and it did not feel funny to me how they put Sarang (FL) in the spot where she had a hard time working since the guest kept on trying to propose to her.

- FL's bestfriend (the mom) and her whole situation at home with the inlaws was horrible and all I wanted was for her to get a Divorce and live happy with her daughter.

- The big sister of ML and her whole ark was infuriating and I don't think she had a redemption ark

But the biggest irk throughout the whole series was that all I could think of is...WHERE IS HR? Why did no one report any of the abuse they endured to HR? There were SO many instances where superiors would abuse their power against the main characters and the only way things get better for most part is when ML comes to save the day.

The acting is kinda stiff in general and the focus is very much on just looking pretty and romantic. My viewing was mostly because I really liked FLs flight attendant friend and herbudding romance. Loved that couple. The OST is catchy and really helps out in bringing out more emotion in some scenes.

I do think the story lacks in various aspects where they use problematic/toxic workspace without having any repercussions and at the end you are just left with the feeling that the writers, the production, and overall sentiments is that these instances are commonplace and should be tolerated.

A classic rom-com drama, not bad but non that remarkable either....

If you are up for a feel-good drama, with good looking people falling in love , this drama is for you!
I was actually looking for this type of drama afer watching "revenant" lol, i guess i needed some romance to heal my heart lol.

The story: i get that it is a light - hearted drama, but i kind of wanted the male lead to be less lazy in the first 10 episodes, i wish the writers gave his character more dept. Some parts of the script didn't make sense though, it felt less realistic .And some important society issues were actually brushed out with comedy ; laughing it out wasn't on my point of view the best way to handle it.

Acting department: i liked Yoona in this one! i will definitely check out her other dramas.

i wouldn't rewatch this drama , and overall it wasn't that bad, i didn't skip or fast-forwarded any scene, so i will give it an 8/10.

Some great moments and some not so great. the other characters except leads.

It was a nice watch but tbvh I've watched better C-dramas this year. Firstly, Yoona's acting really isn't my cuppa tea. Though she was better in the later half of the drama. Loved Junho. Overall, a nice watch. I really wanted DaEul's story to be taken seriously. The way her in laws & husband treated her like a maid but the way they used very serious and a common issue ㅡ where working women are taken forgranted and are pushed to work full time outside & inside home ㅡ for comedy was worse. No redemption arc for inlaws or husband.

Also, I loved the air host/hostess pair ㅡ especially the guy, wanted more of them.

I think the overall duration of the drama could've be much shorter. They didn't address his sister's issues, which she was pretty accurate about ㅡ his father was guilt stricken or whatever but he did take his daughter for granted, how he casually said that he isn't worried about her ㅡ regarding the divorce issue ㅡ but how it'll affect the company😐

So all in all, I can totally understand where her sister ws coming from. They could've explored her character more.

So, there were some great moments and some not so great. They got a few thing well while they often ignored all the other characters except leads.

Wonderfully delightful

King, The Land is fantastic and this drama does not disturb the Arab community in general, outside of a vocal minority of Netizens. I am not going to tell people how to get offended, but ‘King, The Land’ places in the top five in viewership of all dramas in most all of the Arab countries, according to their rating system during the so-called “controversy” period July 2023.

Lee Jun Ho (K-pop group 2PM, Kdrama The Red Sleeve) picks his dramas well. This cute little drama number showcases the multiple layered acting talents of the Baeksang Arts Award (Korean Oscars) winning actor. King, The Land is set in the high end Hotel business, where a sister and a brother vie for the position of Head of the Company, as their aging father seeks to retire. These two siblings are anything but nice to each other. This is partly due to the chip on the shoulders of the truculent brother. Along the way, “Mr Apprehensive” spreads his negative affection to all, including a sweet, ever patient and smiling Hotel trainee, as they continue to get in each other’s way. I found myself laughing a lot. King, The Land is a funny RomCom. This is my first drama seeing Lee Jun-ho in a comedic role. He is nailing it.

Lee Jun-ho gives his standard excellent performance as the loner Gu Won, the son of the hotel magnate. Junho plays his character as a politely caustic straight-shooter. I look at little things. I love the way Junho uses his hands in this drama. They get me every time. They are so expressive and articulate, as emotions are produced with this form of acting called ‘body language’. In addition, watch his ever expressive eyes. The love interest for King, The Land is Im Yoon-ah (K-pop group Girls Generation and K-drama Big Mouth and K2). She is the bubbly, very positive and helpful Hotel trainee, who smiles a lot. For some reason, these are all traits that Gu Won hates. The sister is played by Kim Sun-Young as Gu Hwa-Ran. I can not believe that this is her first credited acting performance. She is doing excellently with all her screen time.

I am marking King, The Land as a go for me. It passed my 15 min “love it or leave it” test in 10 minutes.

I am falling in love again.

And there must be an umbrella.

It is some offensive in But overall not a bad drama.

I like this drama. From every aspect this drama so attractive & mind blowing.
It's SAMIR character disrespectful for our Muslim people's & Arabian.
They did some thoughtless move by this character. Now it's going to be suspended drama maybe. But i don't wish it's suspension. I wish they edit this disrespectful part & continue airing. Not only me so many people's love this drama. Don't waste so many peoples hope for one fault. It's Story,Visual,Cast, Voice really amazing... This quality drama we can't watch always....

I wish they will pay by the law & who is really responsible for this scene... But don't suspend whole drama.

LEE JUN HO AND HIS SMILE IS SO CUTE!!!

okay if I had to be honest, at first I was scared to start this but still had it on my watch list because it's 16 episodes and I thought it'd be dragging which it did sometimes but it ended well. I also never watched any Lee Jun Ho and Im Yoona dramas but I've heard of them so I didn't know what to expect. I dived in without thinking and I ABSOLUTELY enjoyed every single minute of the drama. I was attached to it from the beginning and I never felt bored. Their kisses felt so real and weren't just a peck, their moments were so cute and my favorite episodes were ep 8-11. it was so fun to see Sarang, Guwon, Seha, and the other 3 hanging out together, having lots of fun, and watching Sa Rang and Gu Won hiding their relationship from others. Another favorite scene of mine is when they all find out who Guwon really is and start respecting him LOL. I like all the supporting characters, especially Ahn Se Ha's character. His scenes with Jun Ho are the best HAHAHA

The story was really good, I was attached since ep 1 but what threw me off is the ending of ep 15. I was heartbroken because the drone heart was so cute but they both weren't able to look at that and I quickly assumed that they'll break up till I gave myself a few minutes to think and realize properly. Also, another thing that threw me off is Ro Woon's mom not being alive, which shocked me 😭 but other than that, I enjoyed it!

Gu Hwa Ran's actress did really well. I looked at her MDL profile and saw that KTL was her first drama and that she is a musical actress. At first, I couldn't process how old she looked compared to Jun Ho but I got used to it later

Music: I don't have much to say about the music but my favorite was Confess To You by Lim Kim

Rewatch value: I've been rewatching more dramas this year but rewatching isn't my thing sometimes as it ruins the score for me a little, which is why I gave it a 9 and not a 10 but if I ever need to laugh or want to see Jun Ho and Yoona together, or the supporting characters, I'll definitely rewatch it!

Overall: what am I supposed to do every Saturday and Sunday now???

same old stuff, too cringe and unrealistic

This kdrama's plots are too unoriginal. I wish it had a bit of differences with the old kdramas, but no its the same thing. it's also unrealistic in in many aspects, like how fast the FL is promoted and how she's basically winning the president and EVERY client over;;; it's so cringe. there are also other notable scenes that just do not make sense (ex. the dramatic jump the ML did from the plane, just why?????).

Though there many some great scenes and touching moments, many otheres as mentioned felt like a joke

A whimsical, refreshing and fell-good drama. Hermès until the end!

How long has it been since we've last had a real romcom, without any thriller plot, exhausting angst, pointless break-up and misunderstandings? King The Land overrides these and it's what makes this drama amazing to watch.

As expected, this drama follows a pattern that is well-known in romcoms: they don't like each others first, they meet pretty often so they get closer, the tension begins, they kiss at episode 8, their lovey-dovey journey begins and their love lasts forever.
No complicated plot-line, not far-fetched plot-twists, no serial-killer, no secret villain, pure and simple feel-good drama.

Hence, people might deem this drama as boring, but I didn't find it boring whatsoever. I actually think the story-line is pretty solid. It's not a rich man/poor woman trope (Sarang is FAR from being poor), it's a man/woman trope. What I loved in this drama is that their status was overshadowed by their unconditional love. I never thought once about the fact that Guwon is Sarang's boss, I only saw them as two youngsters in love. This is the first thing that makes this drama refreshing. The second thing, COMMUNICATION. What made this drama amazing is the way the leads sort everything out the moment a misunderstanding tries to take place. Guwon is always trying to make Sarang aware that she can trust him and she can rely and him, Sarang too. This sorted out the unnecessary break-ups and feuds.

Aside from the ROM in romcom, this drama is COM as in really really comical. It's been a while since I've laughed this much while watching an ongoing drama. From Guwon/Sangsik amusing quarrels, the 6 siblings trip in Thailand, Sarang's grandma's nagging, I kept on Hermès-ing throughout the drama.

This drama also enlightens us about how thankful we should be to all the workers and how hard the conditions are for them. It's hard for them, but they always have to keep a smile. Be a Guwon in a world full of Hwarans, make sure your workplace is one without any fake smiles but only genuine ones. I always see one's worth when they interact with workers. If somebody is nice to you but treats workers in a condescending and rude way, this person's soul is dark.

YoonA did an amazing job at portraying a worker who always has to look nice and smile, but is actually tired and drained inside. I loved how Sarang voiced out her tiredness in the last episode saying that she's no longer happy in King The Land and wants to try new things. Sarang is the embodiment of independence, strength and self-reliance. I aspire to be as cool as Sarang.

Junho was also amazing in his role as Guwon, it was like this role was made solely for him. Guwon is the perfect example that no matter how hard your life was, no matter how much people deceived you, this isn't a reason not to be a good person. If you didn't have an amazing person to rely on, be that person. Guwon is such a pure, nice and selfless person. It's rare to see a male-lead which such power in a company like this. He also knows what he wants and knows how to respect and provide for his significant other. He's perfect.

All the other actors were amazing, I know most of them so I'm not even shocked, I knew they would do an awesome job. The one actress that caught my attention, is Kim Sun Young playing Gu Hwaran. She's a famous musical actress, and I can see why she's famous. King The Land is her first drama. I was impressed, I hope to see her in other dramas. It feels nice to see new faces in dramaland, and it feels nice to see a woman that tries new things. Life only stops when you pass away, so it's always time to try new things without worrying about age. Wish her the best!

Overall, I loved this drama. I had a heartwarming moment and it's with a lot of sadness that I am letting go of this drama. I hope we will have nice rom-coms like King The Land in the near future. Wishing all the best to the cast, the screenwriter, the directors, and the whole staff!

It has been so long since I watched a KDrama this wholesome, I really thought my mouth would get ripped of how much I smiled and laughted throughout this '"journey". A great and pure rom-com with no plot twists and no extreamly sad (to the point of crying) situations. If you are a fan of sweet romance this KDrama is DEFINITELY a MUST WATCH!! A grumpy son of a wealthy family that owns one of the best hotels in Korea and a woman, who only has her grandmother and her two best friend to call family, that dreams (and succseeds) of becoming a member of the King The Hotel "family", man who hates fake smiles and a woman who is always smiling. A series that teaches us how someone can change when having someone they hold dear and want to protect.

The one to watch.

I'm so in love with the story.
Everything that could have got wrong was made right.
I don't thing this could happen in real life...every little thing to fall in the right place. Without spoilers I can say ... WATCH IT, it won't be a waste of time.
I loved "Crash landing on you" but the ending was too... mellow...to much to guess. This one had a perfect ending...every script writer and director should take lessons from this k-drama (or should I say K-LOVE).
Enjoy it. I'll rewatch it strait away.
From a korean foreigner to all the people that worked on "King The Land"...GAMSAHAMNIDA !!!

The Perfect RomCom!

This is such a perfect way to describe RomCom.
Best Couple 💯
This couple is the best for me, I have watched so many kdramas, but they are my currently favorite & the best couple for me. It definitely proves us that breaks up are not that necessary to be always included in the story. They literally portrayed the healthy and mature relationship very well.
Best Cast 💯
I love all the cast here. I was so invested to all the characters here. I love the friendship. A perfect way to describe friendship, starting from sarang's two friends until it become 6 siblings. I really love the 6 siblings here, their chemistry witg each other are insane, I feel like I want to be part of that squad. The grandmother also! I really love her character, especially to that last ep, I really cried so much coz that scene was really beautiful.
Good Cinematography 💯
I would never forget that last scene on Ep 2. That was really filmed well. It was really beautiful, matching with that great ost of punch. Also, Ep 10 where they showed us the beutiful trip to Thailand. That was actually my fav ep of the entire series. It was so fun, like I want to travel Thailand after watching that episode. That was really effective and beautiful way to promote the attractions places of Thailand. The use of sounds especially to comedic scenes were also good. It gives more emphasize to make it even more funny.
Best OST 💯
All the OST are great! Everytime I listen to it, it makes me feel that this is the story of king the land. Like they literally own these songs. This is the first time that I listen to an entire OST album of a series like I even literally made a playlist just for me to listen to it everyday.
One of the Best RomCom & Currently the Best RomCom 💯
10/10 is the best way to rate this series. The best way to describe a RomCom. The romance scenes are so good, the comedy scenes are so good. They literally showed us the balance way of portraying RomCom. This series is something that I would definitely rewatched to cheer myself up when I am down. This series is such a comforting drama for me. It feels like it heals me for some reason especially emotionally and mentally. There are so many lines that are very relatable in real life. I also feel like I'm given a free lessons in life.
There are so many good things to mention from this series but all in all, it is the perfect RomCom for us to be watched. King the Land really deserved that hype! 💯
