In 1998, Phil Tchernegovski, a New Zealander, travelled from New Zealand in the southern hemisphere to Taiwan in the northern hemisphere with great anxiety to find his beloved son, who was missing. The pain of not being able to find his son is gradually smoothed out by the warmth and encouragement of the people in the foreign land of Taiwan. And most importantly, he was so moved by the kindness he received that after the Jiji earthquake (1999), he returned to Taiwan to help those who had helped him. The love of a foreign mother and father was lifted up by the love of Taiwanese people in their most difficult times, and when Taiwan was in trouble, he felt the same in return. The beauty of Taiwan is not only the scenery, but also the love and encouragement that we have for each other. We are often unable to see ourselves as we are, but only through the mirror can we see ourselves as we are. (Source: TaiwanCinema) Edit Translation
