its my first time I’m reviewing about a drama in drama . Thank you for this awesome drama.I’m just obsessed with this drama just luv it.One of the best C-Drama in 2023, No words to describe.The whole story is mesmerising. The chemistry between Zhao Lusi and Chen Zheyuan is incredibly beautiful . wish they will get best couple award of this year.Perfect family especially the bonding with her brother so lovely and cute .OST are too soothing to ears especially “Forever star ". I do watch K- Dramas and C- drama a lot most of them are related to love triangle but this is entirely different seems like a normal budget drama and worth the hype with relevant characters .Happy that it got released in Netflix. My heart....
I don't know if any show has affected me the way Hidden Love has. I watch with a smile on my face and I even cry through the sweetest scenes. First of all, the age gap is not an issue at all. He is only 5 years older and there is nothing inappropriate in any of the 25 episodes. Please do not be put off by any of the negative comments because you will miss out on a beautiful experience. I rewatched all the episodes while I waited for more episodes to be released. Now that I have watched all 25 episodes, I am so sad because I will miss Jia Xu and Sang Jhi! I also loved Sang Jhi's brother Sang Yan. I read that there will be a sequel with Sang Yan's story called First Frost. I am hoping to see the same actors play Sang Jhi and Jiaxu in First Frost.Sang Jhi grew up in a loving family. Her parents are kind and generous. Her brother loves her and is protective of her even as he bickers with her. It is still so touching to see how much the brother and sister love each other. I enjoyed watching the beautiful dynamics of Sang Jhi's family. If you enjoy watching sibling relationships, it is another plus for Hidden Love.
Duan Jia Xu had sad family life and he worked hard to pay off his father's debts. What made his relationship with Sang Jhi so beautiful is that even though he didn't have money to spare, he always took care of Sang Jhi and refused to take money from her or allow her to pay for anything when he was around. And even more beautiful was the way Sang Jhi cared for Jia Xu by protecting and taking care of him. He never had anyone to rely on and instead took on the burden of taking care of his mother and father. It was so beautiful to see the emotions as he felt Sang Jhi's love for him.
Both Zhao Lu Si and Chen Zhe Yuan are the magic key to Hidden Love. Zhe Yuan expressive eyes...sigh. Just watching him play Jiaxu is enough to convince me that a 17-year-old girl would have a crush and fall in love with him. Lu Si was perfect for Sang Zhi. You just need to watch to see. The BTS clips provide information on the scenes and be sure to watch the extra scenes at the end of each episode. The strawberry scene at the end of episode 13 was one I had to rewatch immediately. I absolutely love this show!!! There is nothing quite like it.

I fell in love with their story
Where to even start? I absolutely loved this drama! The plot might seem very basic, but it hits some of my favorite tropes – secret crush, age gap, brother’s best friend… My expectations were quite high, and I am incredibly happy that the drama really delivered!Duan Jia Xu & Sang Zhi: the two are so adorable together! Sang Zhi is so sweet and caring. She has had a crush on her brother’s best friend for years and she has at some point lost hope that it will ever be possible for them to be together. But when her hope started to dwindle, Duan Jia Xu started to fall for her. He went through a lot in his life, but Sang Zhi seems to be the ray of sunshine that brightens his days. I was a bit worried about the age gap as the two first met when Sang Zhi is very young, but I really like how they handle that and avoided making it creepy. I think the two are a great fit for each other. The two actors did amazingly in their roles, their height difference was cute. Even the actress who played young Sang Zhi killed her role!
Sang Yan is probably my favorite character. From calling his sister a little demon to always complaining about her and teasing her, there is also not a single thing he would not do to make her happy and to make sure she is safe. I loved the way the two kept bickering, no matter their age, and yet they missed each other when separated. He is also a great friend to Duan Jia Xu, I really had a lot of fun watching the two interact, especially once Duan Jia Xu and Sang Zhi start to date.
I really liked other side characters as well. Sang Zhi’s parents were really supportive of both of their children and always tried to make sure the two were happy, even when the two were driving them up the walks. Sang Zhi’s roommates were a lot of fun too. I enjoyed the fact the four of them were so different from one another, yet they really developed a close relationship with one another. And while I didn’t like Jian Ying as a character (which was also the point), the actress who played her did an amazing job in the role.
The story progressed nicely from episode to episode. It wasn’t rushed, they took their time with it, but it also didn’t drag on. The story takes places over several years, so giving it time to develop at a slower pace made it easier to follow and to truly understand how their feelings started to grow and change.
The cinematography was beautiful as well. The locations, the soundtrack, the styling of the characters… everything was on point. I honestly don’t think I have any complaints about it.

What a bful bful drama.
I never thought i will love this drama so much wen I read the novel. It was so bfully adapted from the novel, rare instance where u can say the adaptation was better than the novel. CZY and lusi I love them so much more from this drama and they made this simple sweet love story so much bful. Also kudos to director also. Such nice execution. I will definitely rewatch this drama many times, it will always be my comfort drama, story, acting, the soothing osts everything was perfect. Also special mention to sang yan (victor ma). He was no lesser star than the leads, his ckt n acting single handedly brought the fun n light moments in the show. All the actors were so well selected n suited the ckts. A perfect Feel Good Story.
For me, Hidden Love is one of the Best dramas of 2023.The relationship between the siblings was delightful to watch. They portrayed the day-to-day banter between Sang Yan and Sang Zhi very accurately.
The chemistry between the Leads was excellent too. They did a fantastic job to bring these characters to life, their personality and relationship was very real. The build-up took time, but after that, it was very real and heartwarming to watch.
All the characters helped the show in their way. Sang Zhi's University friends and Jiaxu's Office colleagues also contributed to the drama very much. They are an integral part of the story.
The main plus point is the drama justified its title "Hidden Love". Those who have experienced Hidden crush / Love can relate to the emotional journey Sang Zhi goes through.
Also, there is no toxicity in this show. So one can enjoy this show and this show can make one's spirit go up.
The OST complements the show well too.
Every good thing has to end. Hidden Love has ended too. But I will rewatch it soon and no matter how many times I rewatch it, THIS DRAMA WILL never be old or monotonous to me.
I recommend everyone to watch this drama.

A must watch
This drama is full of love and support to one another. The only ugly side story is the girl who keep bugging DJX which is it didn’t take very long to solved. Over all this drama focused most of it in a good side. Both lead family and friends is good no scheme etc. which I found it very unique.The actors acting is natural not over exaggerated. ZLS cute portrayal always suits on her and her acting is always on point.
And also the sibling’s portrayal it’s just organic. VM&ZLS just represented what the true siblings are in real life and which this made me laugh a lot.
Over all 10/10.

Worth the watch
Perfect Summer time drama! So sweet. ZLS finally found her match in an actor who can turn on the puppy charm. CZY really has the most expressive face and able to convey those tender emotions without looking effeminate. Director did perfect castin this time. All the supporting actors were great, especially the older brother as well as the rommies in college. It's such a pity that the detractors of the drama made a big stink about the age difference without watching the drama through. It's actually very well handled and even mentioned outright and it does show the FL growing more mature to meet the ML at his level. Kudos to ZLS for being able to convey both innocence and maturity all at the same time.Was this review helpful to you?
A MUST WATCH IT!
This has turned to be one of my favorite drama! The characters are amazing and adorable, starting from Sang Zhi, Duan Jiaxu, Sang Yan, her close friends and his close coworker, even her parents! It’s my first time seeing the leads, both being so independent and mature in the relationship and their own. I cried really hard seeing Duan Jiaxu cry and seeing what he said. It touched me. The way he cherishes and takes care of Sang Zhi is so heartwarming, he has always attentive to her whether it being his little sister or his girlfriend. The age gap was little bit weird, but the relationship was built with a healthy connection between the two, both are loved and supported. She studied hard to go to Yihe to meet him and he left Yihe early to work hard back at Nanwu, just for her to come back to a stable environment and home. Every character and storyline was so amazing. The OSTs are amazing, i’m listening to them as i try to get over them. The outfits were so PRETTY, i fell for Sang Zhi and Duan Jiaxu so FAST! Praises to everyone that worked hard for Hidden Love. THE BEST CDRAMA I'VE WATCH
specifically made an acc just so i can rate this and review it ><one things for sure, i don't know what to do with my life anymore now that this drama has already ended
i have been waiting for this drama since last year and it ended so fast,, i feel so empty
anyway, i really love the story since it doesn't have too much drama and it such a comforting and heartwarming story and i really love the actors (SO MUCH)
i don't know how to write a review but to anyone who haven't watch this yet, do yourself a favor and watch it NOW.
EDIT: i just want to add that i love how they really follow the novel and manga which is kinda rare since there are drama that were also adapted from novel or manga that changes some of the plot,,,, :") there's just some scenes like the cinema scene that they cut :< give it to us pls

One of the Most Favorite in lifetime
First of all,The script is the main point and really a good one.
It is not only a romantic drama ,
can also feel love and warmth between family ,siblings and friends.
Chan Zheyuan as Duan JiaXu and
Zhao Lusi as Sang Ji , that visual couple is really perfect match and meant for each other.
Relationship between Sang Ji and her brother,
friendship between Sang Yang and Duan JiaXu really hit my heart.
Althought it's ended , I can't move on from this drama and it will always be the most favorite of my lifetime.
I want to say this drama is happy pill for unhealthy soul.

this c-drama is probably one of the best watches ever! definitely worth it!
to be honest, i don't really watch a lot of c-dramas because i find the acting and the overrall story kind of cringey (and im not saying this drama wasn't cringey - it definitely had its moments!) but 'hidden love' somehow kept me hooked from start to finish. i just loved watching their love blossom throughout the series.also, the zhao lusi and chen zheyuan had AMAZING chemistry - they definitely need to work together again! their acting made the story of sang zhi and duan jua xu so real!!
omg and the ost~~ i love the songs so much (i think zhao lusi actually sang two of the songs too?)
i'm still listening to them.
i miss the couple so much :((
